Father/Son Trip...Wait, Son trip.

  • 5 of 5

What a view! You can see the pristine river and a mountain range all at the same time. Steve was very helpful and accommodating. This was a really great three day get away. It was only my 2 year old son and I. It was fairly easy to childproof the space in the cabin. My son loved the slide, the porch, and nature in general. There is a small loft to sleep as well. You could easily fit more people than advertised. The pictures I have are even better than the advertised ones, due to the snow on the mountains. April is a great time to visit. Maybe even late April. By then more hikes and snow will have melted in the lowlands.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the ponderosa community club, the cabin was adorable and just big enough for my husband and I. We wished we could have stayed longer but we have to get back to work.

Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

Cozy and quaint, the cabin is perfect for two people. It has beautiful views and is so quiet and peaceful - it made for a great weekend getaway. Not to mention the cabin has pretty much everything you need! Just be mindful in the winter when there is precipitation the skylight above the bed drips a little bit..

Gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I had a great stay here over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were interested in an affordable place to stay near Leavenworth so we could check out the holiday events but also wanted to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area & scenery and this was PERFECT. It had everything we needed. We loved waking up to the views over the Wenatchee River and enjoyed some walks in the very quiet and peaceful "neighborhood" :) This would be a lovely spot in the warmer months, too & we hope to return. Thanks Steve!

Wonderful rustic studio cabin

  • 4 of 5

This cabin has beautiful views to offer and much privacy. It is indeed a rustic studio cabin, perfect for an adult couple. We enjoyed our stay and because we have stayed in small cabins before we were pretty well prepared and not surprised by the size. The pictures depict this little gem perfectly. What you see is what you get. The bed is a double not a queen and the bedding was flannel and smelled nice and fresh. We found a second coverlet up stairs in the small loft and with that and the one on our bed we were nice and cozy. There is a stand alone portable oil heater along with a built in electric heater. We pretty much stayed warm with normal clothing even with the outdoor temps ranging from 8 degrees to 20 degrees. There is a gas bbq and we were able to grill a nice steak.

The kitchen has a few of the basics, plates, bowls, cups, cooking pots and pans, eating utensils, knives, cutting board, toaster (tends to burn the toast, so watch it closely), coffee pot and microwave. Dish towels and soap are provided, but bring your own papertowels and wine glasses if you bring wine (there is a nice bottle opener). The bathroom is very small, but it fits in perfectly with the cabin size. There are fresh towels provided, hand soap and shampoo. Hot water is very hot and it doesn't take long to come through the faucets as very hot. The shower was clean and adequate.

We did contact the owner as the electric heater didn't seem to be working properly. He promptly replied, offering directions to the circuit breaker in the event that we had blown a fuse. We hadn't, it just took this little heater a while to decide to work. It does shut off once it reaches a certain temp, but restarts as well when needed. Steve was very pleasant to talk with and very concerned about our comfort. He advised us to contact him any time during our stay if we needed anything.

The furniture in the living area, yes, is hard, but we managed wonderfully by rearranging the two chairs and ottomans so that we could look out the sliding glass window at the snow cover trees. There are 3 nice size pillows on the love seat so those did help to soften our seating.

Overall we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our visit to Eagles Nest.

If you visit in the winter make sure you have 4 wheel driver or at the very minimum chains. Eagles Nest is located to the side of a pretty steep hill and although they maintain the roads very well, it can be a challenge to get up or down this hill.

There is so much to do here!

said one of our guests!she said of the Lake Wenatchee/Plain area,it abounds with activity no matter what time of year. From snowmobiling, fishing(and ice), skiing (stevens pass is just 25/min), to golfing, boating, hiking, horse back riding, and so much more. Leavenworth is just 20 minutes away down the chumstick,

or just walk the many trails right outside your front door!

Most of our guests just enjoy sitting on the deck listing to the sound of the river below and taking in the sweeping view
