Relaxing Family Stay

  • 4 of 5

If you want to be walking distance to almost everything Lido is the place for you. There is a general market/liquor store right around the corner. Parking is safe and private. Belmont Park is about a 5 min walk south. Mission beach is just crossing the street! The bay is right in front of the property. They have a kayak you can use for free and bike rack. We walked about 10 min north and rented one at the Mission Bay Sports Center. Right around that area there's a nice ice cream shop.

Ralph's is just a 10min drive north as well as CVS, Starbucks, and Pacific Beach. There are not too many restaurants close by though, they are either 5-10min walk north or south. But if you want to cook the kitchen is well stocked; coffee maker, pots, pans, utensils, and microwave. Only thing missing was a blender. Stove was easy to use, gas.

The area is very safe, quiet, and has a beautiful scenery. There is a washer and dryer on site. A rinse off area for ocean sand stuck in your toes and other places... we didn't use the grill, but other tenants did and their food smelled delicious!

Linens were clean, towels provided more than sufficient for two adults and 2 children who showered every day for 4 days straight.

The pull out couch was comfortable as well as the bed in the bedroom.

It was a little warm during our stay (weather), so we went out and got a fan (one was already provided in room) and it made it better.

Our room looked like a ship, wood paneling heavy doors between the rooms. Completely sound proof!

Enjoyed our stay! All the other tenants were very nice and respectful. The owner answered all my questions on time and even had the manager come and check on us to make sure we had additional questions. Both very polite.

Lido is the perfect place for a family who wants to leave the car parked and walk everywhere. Or bring/rent a bike!

Just Right!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at the Lido. It was just what we were looking for to stay a full week. Rustic feel but we werent looking for anything fancy. The bed is very firm which was really important to us. Providing linens and towels was helpful as well. Property Management is very responsive and super accommodating. We will stay here again!

Amazing views!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in unit 8, which is 2nd floor with great views of the bay! This is a small but adequate beach cottage with no A/C. The only way to get a good cross ventilation is to leave the front door open, both of the front room picture windows do not open. But most of your time is spent outside! Everything that you need in the kitchen with a small kitchen table. Front room has HD TV with Direct TV, views of the bay from the couch. There is a small room (3'X6')between front room and bathroom. Bathroom is small but was clean everything worked. Bedroom has some extra storage and the bed was very comfortable and firm! There is a large patio facing the bay with many chairs and tables, great place for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The location is awesome and the views are great you are right on the bayside boardwalk. The bay side is so much quieter and less crowded than the beach side just across the street. We had the bay beach to ourselves for most of the trip. The kayak was fun and easy to get to the water. We rented bikes and locked them up in the courtyard with no problems. Daniel was a great host and always quick to respond! Our only suggestion would be to do some updating of the paneling and design in the unit. Overall we would go back again great getaway with excellent views and location!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The bedroom does have windows that open. Temperatures in Mission Beach rarely exceed 80 degrees in the day time, and nights are cooler, so most people find they are quite comfortable without A/C. The unit has a ceiling fan in the kitchen which provided air circulation. Regarding the paneling and design, most of our guests like the old-fashioned wood cabin feel of the apartment, and we have chosen to maintain it that way rather than turn it into another sleek chrome and glass unit, of which there are plenty elsewhere in Mission Beach.

Diamond in the rough

  • 5 of 5

Great location, rooms small but can sleep two adults and two kids easily. Spent most of the time on patio, plenty of room for kids to play. Will definitely stay here again

The Lido affordable in a highly sought after area

  • 5 of 5

The Lido truly is an affordable place in a very highly sought after area. It is in a safe location close to everything, especially the bay and beach. Our family (my husband and I and our two children ages 4 and 8) had a wonderful time at the Lido. Daniel made us feel very welcome and answered any questions we had about the area. We chose to pay the extra to face the bay and really enjoyed the views. Multiple times we enjoyed watching the yacht club boat races on the bay. There are great walking paths along the bay right there and the walk to the beach is also very close. My husband enjoyed surfing, while we enjoyed playing in the sand. There are also kayaks at the Lido, which are free to use. We enjoyed kayaking around the bay. SeaWorld is about 6 minutes away by car and the San Diego Zoo and Balboa park 15-20 minutes. If you want to stay in an affordable place right by the bay and are not concerned about a fancy place, then this is a great place to stay. We would definitely come back if we decided to vacation in this area again. Daniel also provided excellent customer service and is often on site if any questions should arise.
