The Sangria Condominiums are one of South Padre Island's best kept secrets. The complex is one of SPI's original structures dating back to 1977, showcasing a classy architectural design thoughtfully laid out to take advantage of the exceptional beach front property. The complex is made up of only 40 individually owned units, so it is very quaint, private, and quiet. Situated on a gated tract of land in a prime location where Gulf Blvd begins it's journey north, right off of South Padre Island Blvd. Walk to the entertainment district, shopping, restaurants, CVS, etc., you are in the heart of it all. The complex boasts a heated pool, hot tub, tennis court with pickle ball, a basketball goal, and an available volleyball net upon request.
Unit #209 provides, (but does not guarantee) it's guests with tennis rackets, pickleball equipment, beach paddleball, soccer ball, basketball, football, boogie boards, beach umbrella & chairs, board games, and whatever else you might find in the guest closet. The meticulously cared for back lawn is always a hit with lush grass for the kids to play, along with picnic tables, chairs/lounges, and BBQ grills to enjoy the beachfront outdoors. Unit #209 is only one of four existing condos in the complex to have vaulted ceilings highlighted by exposed wooden beams providing a great sense of openness to take in the incredible beach front views. Sit out on the balcony to get away from it all, there is no better place to unwind. Unit #209 is tastefully furnished with a 50" mounted flat screen Smart TV in the living room, and a mounted flat screen in the master. Free wireless internet and a land line are provided for guests. King size master bed with private master bath w/walk-in shower, and two twin beds in the secondary bedroom with full bath across the hall. Both bathrooms have been fully updated with subway tile. Two fold up beds are available as well to sleep up to 6. We provide a Keurig coffee maker for our guests, along with a regular coffee maker. We thoroughly enjoy the condo ourselves and visit it as often as possible, and we are happy to share it with our guests. Come and visit Sangria, you will not be disappointed.

*Please note: The Sangria complex has a policy against renting to spring breakers.

Since we arrived at night (after hours) and the peculiar layout of the parking lots and units, we had a hard time finding ours. The unit itself was fine with easy access to the beach and (being on the second floor) a good view of the beach. The kitchen is good for one person--a bit crowded for two. The real bonus was a community of folks that return to the Sangria every year. Built in camaraderie!

Relaxing stay at quiet South Padre Island condo
Sangria is an older beachfront condo complex on the island so it lacks some of the flashier amenities of the new complexes. What it lacks, however, is completely made up by the quiet location, and beautiful landscaped grounds including a heated pool and hot tub (although it was not working during our stay). Communication with Stephanie, the owner, and Gina, the property manager, was easy and immediate. The condo has updated bathrooms, plenty of beach toys to use, a lovely balcony on the Gulf, very comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen to make a meal. We enjoyed our stay.

Close location to the Main Street. The beach is steps away and is great for walking. Nice people in the condo mgt and residents too. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful property! You can't beat the view of the beach from the balcony. It is also a very short walk to the beach with a wooden plank pathway. If you have to haul a lot of beach gear with kids this is a plus. The condo is an older facility but very well maintained. It is small complex and great for families. The beds were super comfortable. Communication with Stephanie and Gina was very easy with prompt responses. There are games and beach toys for the kids including 3 boogie boards. We had a great stay!

It's quaint, and there is plenty of space to enjoy whether it's the tennis court / basketball goal, or the lush beach front lawn. The onsite property manager, maintenance, and house keepers do an amazing job of caring for the property, and have been there for almost 30 years!
