We are 'on the sand' and the sugary sand is beautiful, powdery white sand that stretches as far as the eye can see. Our private quiet beach house allows you to unwind, relax and enjoy the moment. Soak in the relaxing atmosphere, enjoy a refreshment on the patio, toast each other at sunset, all the simple things of life that are most rewarding.
For active people, antiquing (some of the best in Florida), the The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home of Winter the dolphin star of the movie 'Dolphin Tale' is 10 miles away. Baseball, Football, hockey and more sports is 45 minutes away in Tampa and St. Petersburg. The Mahaffey theater is 15 minutes away where stars perform in a quaint small theater. Busch Gardens is 45 minutes by car and Disney is only 2 hours away.
Raised in Michigan, my family spent our vacations at a rental cottage on one of the lakes. I have been drawn to the water ever since. My tour in the navy gave me the dream (more a hope) of owning a house on the ocean/gulf.
My day job is to run a travel company that specializes in wonderful vacations from cruises to tour to resorts, we book it all.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this cottage in 2012
Several years ago I was driving the beach and saw this pretty beach house. They were having a open house so I went in. I loved the place immediately. Unfortunately the asking price was way out of my ability so I did nothing but kept looking from time to time. Several years passed and the housing boom busted and the property came back on the market at a more reasonable price and we got it. By renting the house out, we can pay down the mortgage and whenever It is not rented, we get the opportunity to live our dream at the beach.
Comfy is the way our guest describe the beach house. Quickly you feel like you have lived there forever. Convenience is the word that comes to mind when I think of the beach house location. We are convenient to restaurants, attractions, stores - just everything! The deck out front actually is on the beach. No elevators or long walks, down 4 steps and you are on the white sand. Up over the sand berm and there is one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida.
Where we are located few people come down to that area of the beach so it is very private and quiet, except for the sunsets, where it seems all of Indian Rocks Beach comes out to the beach for our spectacular sunsets!
We could not have asked for a better week! Weather was perfect every day! Beautiful home! So comfy and cozy and perfect for our size family. We enjoyed the perfect sun sets!
Loved walking on the beach every day and collecting shells, great restaurants and shopping! But our favorite meal was cooking the the grill and eating dinner on the deck and watching the sun set!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece of Florida with us.
We loved our stay at this cozy cottage on Indian Rocks Beach. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets relaxing on the deck and were just steps from the beach. Would definitely stay here again.
Overall a great week on the beach! Great location, good weather, and the beach house was very accommodating and worked out great for us and our pet.
This was our 4th time to visit IRB, but the first time to rent your cottage. It was perfect. My favorite features were the view and proximity to the beach (of course), and the Sassy Cat who came to visit us on the back porch daily. We had a great day at John's Pass in Madiera beach riding a jet ski and hanging out at the Copper Clover (Irish Pub that just opened recently). Everyone in and around IRB is so friendly and welcoming. Your place is heaven on earth, and we surely hope to come again.
This is a very well-appointed, charming cottage, and the location is perfect. The beach is a short walk from the front deck, which by the way is expansive and has a sun shade that is quite handy in the afternoon. The cottage faces west to the Gulf, so the water views and sunsets are amazing. Binoculars are a must for watching ospreys, pelicans, terns, herons and skimmers at work. In the water we saw dolphins galore as well as manatees and even a mammoth sea turtle heading back to the water after laying her eggs. A great experience -- we hope to do it again.
This cottage is very cozy and comfortable. It feels private even though the properties are close to each other. The view of the Gulf is unrivaled. The cottage is clean and well furnished. You feel comfortable there. The awning covered deck and boardwalk with shower and hose to rinse after being at the beach are great. Then there's only 15 - 20 yards of soft sand to be on the beach.
We loved being able to see the Gulf over the dunes. Especially at sunset!
Ed is a very responsive owner. We were in touch and the minor problems that occurred were taken care of ASAP.
The cottage has a guest book to write a short summary of your stay. It's fun to read the entries that other guests have written about their stays at the cottage. There are books on the history of Indian Rocks Beach that we found very interesting.
We also enjoyed our proximity to the Kooky Coconut! We could walk to it easily for their homemade ice cream! The building has been there since 1925!
We highly recommend staying at 812 Beach Trail.
I can't say enough about how wonderful this home is. We've been to Indian Rocks several times, but this was our second trip to this lovely little home and I'm ready to plan our return trip. Nothing compares to the ability to walk out the back door and step right on the beach. The private feeling of the beach is the best, we're not too fond of crowded beaches and we've never felt crowded here. We love everything about Indian Rocks Beach, we love the restaraunts, shops and people, when the locals say it's "Mayberry", they aren't kidding. If you are on the fence on where to stay, seriously, look no further. It is worth every penny! Our children love the Kooky Coconut (ice cream shop) and we walked there several times during our week. We ate at Crabby Bills, Guppy's, PJ's, all were great, but our favorite place is DeLosa's Pizza south on Gulf Blvd. in John's Pass. Try the garlic knots, they're incredible! There are so many things to do in IRB and nearby towns, something for everyone for sure. We have done something new every trip and there's still much more we'd like to do. Our favorite thing though... sitting on the back deck eating dinner while watching the sunset, then going down to the beach, my son and husband fishing from the shore catching a variety of fish and shark, and my daughter and I hunting for shells. It's my heaven... Thank you for another incredible week in your beautiful home, Ed, the memories we made will last a lifetime!
