Loweswater 4 Star holiday apartment is a very spacious and comfortable home in the Lake District, suitable for up to four persons. The apartment is located in a tranquil Lake District village close to Loweswater and Crummock Water. The Gem town if Cockermouth is just a 10 minute drive away., with all its independent stores and popular cafe culture. The apartment is within a private mews with gated access, making it very private. After parking in your own allocated space, a few steps and through the iron gates to a private stairway to the apartment. Within the apartment you will find a very spacious sitting room(4mx5m) which has has large French Doors through which light floods making it a very bright and light room. Expansive views over the countryside will take your eye on to the Solway coast and the Scottish border area of Dumfries and Galloway ( an easy drive if you fancy something different. There are two comfortable settees in this room and a deep pile carpet . Very cosy indeed. A flat screen TV with freeview , a complete stereo system and DVD player are at your disposal when relaxing after a long day out on the Fells. Lots of books and games are also provided for your entertainment.

The kitchen is comprehensively equipped for all your self catering needs. You just need to provide the food and everything else is there for you. All those little things you would not normally expect to make life in the kitchen that much easier. Dining is on a large round table with four chairs.

A modern fully tiled bathroom has a full size bath with an overhead electric shower, a large hand basin with illuminated mirror above. toilet and heated towel rail. All quality towels are provided for you to use.

Bedroom number one is large and has lots of storage in a double wardrobe ,which has wooden hangers. Two bedside cabinets and a vanity unit make up the room. A down duvet is provided along with an optional non allergenic duvet. All bed linen is also provided. Two pillow per person. Bedroom two is smaller but has all the same facilities as bedroom one.

For your entertainment whilst in the apartment you will find a flat screen TV with Freeview, a Stereo system with tuner, cd player and tape deck. A DVD player is also provided. There are lots of books and games plus maps and lots of local information. An information folder will give you all the information you need regarding the local area and services available. Of course there is also free unlimited WIFI at your disposal.

The apartment is accessed through iron gates at the rear of the car park, and a metal staircase exclusive to the apartment. A shared courtyard has two picnic tables and covered seating . This courtyard is a real suntrap and very sheltered. There is also a secure store for your bikes.

Loweswater apartment was originally our holiday home in the Lakes, where we spent many enjoyable weekends before retiring to Cumbria and the Lake District. As Loweswater was our home in the Lakes, there is a feeling of a real homeliness not just a holiday rental. You will really feel at home and relaxed in this apartment. It is furnished to standards you would expect to find for yourselves, and hopefully you will appreciate the effort we have made to make Loweswater apartment a very pleasant and welcoming stay in the Lakes. The apartment is full carpeted throughout , ( kitchen floor and bathroom excepted which have tiled floors ) and is fully furnished with all those little extras to make your stay a very pleasant experience. From the moment you walk in to the apartment you will appreciate the light which floods in through the large floor to ceiling French doors.

Beautiful home from home in a peaceful setting

This apartment has everything you need ,and some lovely extras,for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.perfect location to explore the areas of loweswater, which is now our favourite Lakeside walk. And Ennerdale water. Even though we were there over a bank holiday the area was not heaving with tourists as the central Lakeland areas always for us a perfect holiday. Thanks to Ray and Margaret for making us feel so at home when we arrived.

Very much enjoyed our stay at the apartment.

It had everything we needed, and we felt very comfortable. Location is also fantastic you can drive straight into beautiful countryside and the shops and restaurants or not to far away.

You can live like a local

We, three adults, stayed there in June 2016 for a week. The apartment is in a quiet location, not far from a lots of hiking destinations if you have a car. Everything worked. We felt over all experience is better than if we stayed in a four stars hotel. If you don't like the feeling of you are one of many tourists, but would rather to experience how local lives, this is the place for you. If we return to the area, we would like to stay here again.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

I had a lovely time staying here. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. Mockerkin is very quiet, but Cockermouth is nearby with plenty of shops, while the mountains are only a couple minutes away over the hill. I stayed for four weeks and was sad to go. Ray and Margaret were wonderful hosts. They left me to my own devices but were always available to come by or offer advice whenever I needed.

Lovely countryside getaway

Well appointed, comfortable & cozy apt. in the quiet countryside on the western edge of the Lake District. Our hosts met us at the apartment to let us in, show us around & point us in the right direction for touring the area. They were very enjoyable to talk with. This is a great place to get away from the business of life & it's in a great location as a home base for all that the region has to offer. We would definitely recommend this place.

Loweswater apartment is ideally situated for touring the Western Fells. With easy access to the three lakes that make up the Buttermere Valley. Drive 5 minutes from the apartment to Loweswater and Crummock, then enter the Buttermere Valley from where you can carry on up the rugged Honister Pass to Honister slate mine , stop here and see the mine workings on try the Via Ferrata (if you dare)then onward through the wonderful Borrowdale Valley before spending a little time in Keswick taking in some retail therapy.

Ennerdale, the remotest of valleys ( just 15 mins away) with it's soaring peaks and rugged scenery will take you into dark and brooding world. Varied walking from gentle strolls around Loweswater to challenging high level walks in "Wild Ennerdale" are all short way from the apartment. Biking is a joy in the area, (we have a secure bike store), whether you like easy rides along quiet roads or challenging off road routes in Whinlatter, some of England's best off road trails. The gem town of Cockermouth is just a short 10 min drive away. With all it's independent shops and cafe culture you can enjoy strolling around this glorious market town and take in sites such as the birthplace of William Wordsworth, Cockermouth Castle, Jennings Brewery tour , Percy Galllery, the oldest building in town ,, or just stroll along the river and enjoy sitting in one of the town parks.
