About the property

Centrally-located in a quiet area close to the Parliament and River Danube.

The Falk Miksa holiday apartment. Spacious 2-bedroom apartment in excellent decorative order.

In a quiet street close to the magnificent Parliament Building and River Danube. This is possibly the best residential area on the east side of the river (Pest).

- Main room with new high quality 47-inch/119-cm cable TV, Blu-ray DVD player and extensive film library, Denon Hi-Fi. Wood-block floors and loose carpets. Spacious dining area.

- Sizeable fully-equipped kitchen/breakfast room with gas hob/oven, top of the range Panasonic combi microwave, 4-place dishwasher. Siemens automatic washing machine.

- Two large double bedrooms with wardrobes.

- Large working desk with fast Windows 10 PC (with MS Office) and laser printer.

- Fast secure wi-fi throughout the apartment.

- Five minutes' walk to a good mini-supermarket.

- Coffee shops and an upmarket restaurant in Falk Miksa street.

- Eight minutes' walk to the nearest subway.

- The apartment remains cool in summer and is centrally-heated in winter.

- Friendly and helpful local manager always available.

British owner. My main concern is that you should enjoy your stay.

Stunning Apartment within easy reach of everything

  • 5 of 5

Spacious, comfortable and with all the latest mod cons. Everything you need or might need is available for you. All the shops, supermarkets, restaurants and historic sites are only a short walk away. Very welcoming and easy to find with secure access to the apartment. We really enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to use it again. There are clear and well written instructions for using everything in the apartment. If you are hesitating about this apartment then don't, you will not regret it. The owners are so helpful and did everything to make sure our stay was very pleasant. They even responded quickly to questions we had once we arrived at the apartment.

Nice apartment and helpfull owner

  • 4 of 5

Our stay was nice. Apartment is like it was said. In the apartment there were all the necessary. Owner was very helpful. Apartment is situated very close to the city, but in peaceful street. It is close to metro and tram. Markets and restaurants are very near. Next time I'll ask first if this apartment is available. I can recommend this apartment.

Stay in Budapest July 2017

  • 4 of 5

Our family did enjoy the Stay in Budapest - the apartment was really nice, very well located and with all necessary for a stay like ours. The beds were confortable, the kitchen had all we needed for cooking.

Furthermore, the owner provided quite useful information regarding the house, public transport in Budapest, places to visit.

We can recommend this flat for a stay in Budapest

A spotless home-away-from-home in a brilliant location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is situated in a grand old Budapest building full of atmosphere. A high level of security gave us peace of mind during our stay. Spacious, spotless and equipped with everything you're likely to need, this apartment suited our needs brilliantly. The magnificent Parliament building - and a delightful cafe in the square - is a 3 minute walk away and it's 5 minutes to the tram and 7 minutes to the metro. Good supermarkets (including Aldi) are in the neighbourhood. Outstanding!

Superb property

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week in April and could not have made a better choice. The owner has obviusly made an effort to anticipate every possible need a guest may have and succeded.

Extremely comfortable in an appropriately older part of Budapest, with a location which could not have been bettered. The apartment is clean and very well maintained.

A recommendation without reservation.

Great place to stay in Budapest

  • 4 of 5

Geoff's apartment is a real home away from home. There is everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. It is really spacious with high ceilings and a huge Tv. The beds are comfy and large. The street outside is tree lined with antique and arts shops. Thereare two smallish local supermarket ( 1 block). Just a few steps away is the Hungarian Parliament building- at the corner of the street- and it is spectacular. The parliament is right on the Danube River. If you walk the short block towards the river there is the #2 tram stop which runs all the way down the Pest side of the river to the old town area and beyond. If you take the #2 the other direction for one stop you can hop off and get the #4 or #6 tram over to Buda. If you want to use the metro there is a station just the other side of the parliament building which will connect you to many parts of the city. We walked over to Andrassy Street- it is just over 15 minutes. Geoff's apartment is in a great location for transportation. Budapest seems to be a very safe city and the local people are very helpful. It is a very cultural city with many museums and art galleries in addition to a great many live performances.

There is plenty to see in Budapest:

Walk down Váci Utca. It's a sort of pedestrianized mini Bond Street/Fifth Avenue. Make sure not to miss the beautiful covered market at the end of Váci utca. Walk along the Danube if it’s not too cold. Admire the Parliament Building and visit local coffee shops for cappuccino/cake.

Make sure you don't miss the Fine Arts Museum at Hosök tere. Or if you're in a more somber mood reflect on events at the Terror Háza (Andrássy út 60). Here you will see 20th century history of Hungary’s oppression under occupying forces. Walk there in 20 min via Oktagon.

On route you could shop at the Westend City Center (Teréz körút). It has a reasonable supermarket but do avoid the awful fast food.

My favourite other museums are the National Museum (Complete history of Hungary), Jewish Museum/Synagogue, the Postal Museum and the Subway Museum. And before you leave you must see and photograph the Opera house. Better still, book some tickets.

Other Activities: Cultural city-centre activities, thermal baths
