About Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager

I've lived in the Custer area for 13 years and am a South Dakota native. After living out of state for 18 years, I returned to South Dakota for a more peaceful life.

Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager chose Custer

I vacationed in the Custer area as a child, and returned to it because I've found the Custer area to be the perfect blend of rustic country living, beautiful scenery and friendly people. The town of Custer has all the shopping, restaurants and entertainment that anyone could possibly need without the frenzy of fast food, Walmarts and traffic that frazzle city folks lives.

What makes this cabin unique

I love this cabin's location, near Custer State Park and Wind Cave National park. Just 1.5 mile east is the back entrance to Wind Cave Park at an area where you can generally find herds of Buffalo and Elk. The cabin itself is very private as it is not visible from the road. Near dusk and dawn you can sometimes see elk at the front of the property near the creek area.

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We truly recommend this “home away from home”.

This beautiful cabin, nestled in the woods on a high ridge, is centrally located to ALL the attractions in the Black Hills & Custer State Park.

It’s 3 levels are craftfully & comfortably laid out. The balconies & decks were enjoyed by all, at all times of the day.

There are ample bathrooms & bedrooms in e ach level. We were amazed & delighted with the ample amenities: kitchen ware, paper goods, linens, towels, soaps; I really don’t think we ever “lacked” any necessitity.

The drive back to the cabin, each evening, through Custer State Park was never dull, as the wildlife kept us entertained; bison, deer, prairie dogs, etc. crossing the road in front of the cars.

Our time in the cabin was comfortable & relaxing. The furniture & decor is ample & pleasing.

We are a 4-generation family, 87 through 10 years that will have wonderful photos & memories to remember for years.

Thank you Jody for being so thoughtful.

God’s Blessings, Bill & Karlene Hall

Private with easy access to activities!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and location ideal for our needs. Off the beaten path enough to get away but not too far to be inconvenient. The cabin was also well supplied which was very helpful.

Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

The reviewers did not make up stories. This cabin is stunning and also secluded as many had indicated. We will be back!

Just note that when the GPS says you’ve arrived at your destination, you still have another 1.5 Miles to go!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice words. Glad you liked the Beaver Creek cabin and were able to find it. As this is a relatively new cabin, GPS can find the road but not the specific street number, so it gets you close--but not quite there. GPS directions are sketchy at times all over the Black Hills and can sometimes lead you on back trails instead of directly to your destination.

Great Escape!

  • 5 of 5

Two years ago we went to our children and asked them if they wanted Christmas presents or a family trip of their choice within a 8 hour drive from Omaha. They choose the black hills in winter! So we went on home away and found our cabin. It happened to be managed by Jodi. After that stay, and the experience this year we looked for a “Jodi” property again to rent and we were able to find one! It was perfect! We had a great time and even when we messed up on our dates she gave us the time to get out and even took the time to see if she had another cabin we could have for just one night. Thank you again Jodi!

Beautiful & peaceful

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed my time here. Jody was super easy to work with. The house was even nicer than the photos. It is super close to Wind Cave NP and Custer state park where I was able to hike each day. Within just a few miles from the cabin I was able to photograph multiple bison, pronghorn, coyotes, elk, deer, Golden eagles, and so much more. I even witnessed a bison giving birth and watched the calf take its first steps. I loved the solitude and peacefulness of this property, and yet it is only 15 minutes to Custer. I highly recommend this place!
