About this property

TWO Cabins on Moosehead Lake with Large Dock and Private Island - 5 BRs + loft

Two rustic cabins on Moosehead Lake with large permanent dock and access to a private island. Sleeps 12 total. Excellent for two families or a large extended family "away from it all" vacation. Large cabin has 3 BRs, loft, full bath, large living/dining area with fireplace and picture window, full kitchen, large screened porch. Second cabin (50 feet away) has 2 BRs, full bath, kitchen, large screened porch with swing. Washer/dryer, gas grill. Excellent western views. 10 minutes to Greenville by car or by boat. NO TVs, wifi, or AC. Good Verizon cell service (Sprint not so much) 4WD recommended but not required. For those considering a September or October rental, it can get cold at night in Greenville (30s-40s) and the cabins are not insulated. The small cabin has a central furnace but the big cabin has only wall heaters in the bedrooms.

Amazing family vacation
Four generations of our family gathered for an amazing and peaceful week on Moosehead Lake. We had stayed in this property in 2007/2008 and when we asked where everyone would like to meet- these cabins were the hands down winner. We have such fond memories of past visits, and as week’s go- this was as close to perfect as possible! We cannot wait to return!

Moosehead Lake Family Vacation
Our family had a fantastic time staying at Deerlea. Beautiful views of the lake from the screened porch where we ate every meal! Fishing off the dock, kayaking, swimming, hiking, watching the sun set and the loons, relaxing with a book or doing a puzzle. Everyone had something they enjoyed doing. The rustic inside decor had us very interested in the history of the cabins. We would definitely love to come back again!

Wonderful Old-fashioned Camp on Moosehead Lake
Many years ago we used to vacation at an old camp on Lake Winnipesaukee - this two cabin camp reminded us of that old cabin. Nestled into the pine woods, surrounded by the smell of balsam, lulled to sleep by the calling loons, the cabins are perched high enough above the lake that the views of the setting sun each evening were amazing. The location is great - we were were able to kayak on the lake but also drive to ponds and bogs to kayak. The dock was perfect for our bass boat with quick access to the Greenville public boat ramp. We were not far away from places to look for moose and other critters. We had a really nice stay in the Northwoods of Maine.

The property was as advertised. What a magical place. We will definitely be back. Communication with the owner was great and the overall experience was perfect for us all. It is obvious to see how special gems like this stay in families for so long. Thank you for sharing this special spot with us.
