My wife and I live in Ontario Canada and have 3 children at various levels of post secondary schooling. We love to travel to warm destinations. That's why we chose this location so we can enjoy our holidays with or without the kids. It's ideal for us.
We were looking for a place near Disney that could give us and our guest the best vacation at an affordable price. We visited many different locations in the area of the theme parks but Regal Palms was far superior than all of them. The two heated pools, water slide and lazy river elevates this resort to a different level.
This was our first visit to Orlando and we had 2 adults and 4 teenagers. This townhouse is about 20-25 minutes from Universal. There are alot of places to eat between the townhouse and Universal. We ate at City Walk one day but after spending so much, we decided to go to places like Olive Garden and Chipotle which are close to the house. The Waffle House is down the street and the employees are super nice. The beds were very comfortable. There were 4 twin beds and 2 master bedrooms. Every room had a television in it. We cooked in the kitchen a couple days during the week and used the dishwasher which worked well. We also used the washer/dryer and it worked well. The townhouse is updated and modern. The kids went to the pool and arcade on the property. Publix grocery store is in front of the resort. The property is gated. I didn't mind staying that far out from the parks. It was like being home but we went to the park each day. Would definitely stay here again! Make sure you bring your own toilet paper. Bring washing powder if you want to wash clothes alot. Don't buy more food than you will use because you have to empty the fridge at the end of your stay.
The rental is nice from the outside. Walking in the house it didn't smell clean. It looked fine but when I went to unpack and put things away in bathroom. It hadn't been cleaned. There was toothpaste spots on mirror, the commode was mildewed, sink and tub had dead skin and grime in it. Had to clean it before we could use it. When we pulled back the sheets they had black hairs everywhere. My children's beds were the same way. My parents stayed downstairs and their bathroom was the same and their sheets hadn't been washed Needless to say it wasnt any fun to be cleaning bathrooms and sheets at 10:00 at night after a 13 hr drive. Also you have to keep air at 75 degrees. If you are a menopausal woman, it's not a good thing especially in Florida. However we still ended up having a great time in Disney and Sea World. Didn't let it spoil our fun. The owner is great. To be honest I don't think its his fault. I think it's the shady staff at the resort which is hurting his chances of renting out what could be a great place.
Everything was very good, except we were unable to use the internet wireless. And, as much as we tried, we were unable to use my NETLIX account on the TV.
We are a family of four, and the house was large enough and had all amenities that we needed. Good location to Disney parks and shopping.
Things wrong with the house, couch feels broken it sinks in. The queen sized bed also sinks in wasn't comfortable. The twin beds back board are either broken or lose, their's a few chairs for the dinner table that are uncomfortable they sink in. Some Stains in carpets, Ice Maker doesn't pour down, you have to open the door to get to it. They only have one trash bag to use understandable for 2 days but we stay for 4. They could at least gave us 2 or 3. No dish soap. One roll of toilet paper each bathroom and one roll of paper towels. so far that's all the things I saw that I wasn't a fan off. Everything else was good it just needs new furniture so we can sleep comfortable.
We had an awesome stay! We came to the Orlando area with our 5 kids and had plenty of room to spread out. We all LOVED the pool area. We stayed in the lazy river the majority of the time that we were not at Disney or Universal. We enjoyed the on site arcade and had some yummy drinks and lunch at Banana Jack's. The washer and dryer were extra convenient, so I didn't have so much laundry upon our return. We brought our own beach towels to the pool and our own wash cloths. I highly recommend doing so, as they no longer supply wash cloths and the on site beach towels must be checked out and returned before you leave the pool area. Publix is just around the corner. There is also a amazing Japanese restaurant in the same shopping center. BEST sushi ever! There is also an IHOP, which was great for breakfast one morning. The drive to Disney and Universal was conveninent. The townhome has the usual wear and tear of a rental home. For the price, you can not beat it. We would definitely stay again.
