This Home is squeaky clean,&EXTREMELY comfortable!
If you are looking to spend time in the North Conway Area, visiting Cranmore, StoryLand or Attitash, you would be lucky to find another Home that has everything that this Home has. I keep using the word "Home" as that is what it feels like to stay here. Everything about this place is comfortable and welcoming . It is spotless, the beds are comfortable, kitchen has everything, feels very big,3 bathrooms, great TV and Internet, the kids loved it and so we.
Location is convenient to everything, YET it is just outside of the traffic that North Conway often has. Extremely quiet, plenty of parking. It feels so secluded even though it is so close to everything. I HAVE NEVER HAD A BETTER VACATION !!!
Challenges with # Beds, AC, return of damage deposit
We rented this because it said it sleeps 10 but there are only beds for 7 or 8 if two people go in the queen. Site said there was AC but of the 2 window units, the upstairs one is old and works poorly and the second is an indoor unit with a hose that leads outside, also didn't work well and makes terrible noise. It wasn't that warm out but was humid so we tried to use AC units and were how and uncomfortable, it was fortunate that we brought fans.
We cleaned unit as much as anyone normally does when renting a space with a substantial cleaning fee, put away dishes, stripped beds, emptied trash. Yet we got a note from landlord claiming that we left the place a horrible mess, and very upset that that there was a spot of food in the fridge that needed to be cleaned and that we left food in the fridge. We were under the impression that the cleaning fee should cover actual cleaning. Note also said the counter was "full of garbage" and the waste bin was full, neither of which were true; we just put a few things in at the last minute, knowing that normal housekeeping services usually find other things to throw away. I wouldn't stay here if you don't want to clean for 2 hours before you move out after paying a hefty cleaning fee; the owner is apparently deadly serious when he states that you need to leave house in condition that you found it (although he states that the housekeeper will wash sheets and towels, well thank God for that!)
The worse comments were about the upstairs AC. When we arrived, I checked the filter, which is often dirty on AC units, and found that in fact it was filthy in this case. I just left it and cover off so housekeeper would notice this and clean it. Rather than apologize to me for leaving a dirty AC filter, the LL scolded me for loosing the cover and removing the filter, and also suggested that I may have broken the AC unit and would have to pay for repairs/replacement of the AC unit. IMAGINE that I didn't want to use a filthy AC filter or clean it myself. While we didn't break the AC unit, it DOES need to be replaced because it didn't work well and was clearly not well maintained.
Not being someone who likes to be extorted or threatened, I filed a formal complaint with VBRO against this property owner.

Unfortunately this renter left my second home excessively dirty and forced me to retain a security deposit for the first time in over 10 years in order to pay my cleaning people for the mess. I provided photos to HomeAway to dispute his claims that the condo was left clean. It was absolutely not left clean by any reasonable standard. He filed a grievance with HomeAway regarding loosing part of his security deposit and his claim was denied by HomeAway (given the proof I was able to supply in photos and receipts). I will acknowledge that there are A/C units upstairs and down and on extremely hot days or when doors are closed preventing the A/C units from circulating the cool air, some parts of the condo can get warm. I am exploring some new cooling options in time for summer of 2019.
This is our second home and we do expect renters to respect it. This renter did not do that and now created a review that serves no purpose but to try to penalize me for not returning his entire security deposit. Should you have any concerns or questions about this review, the rental agreement or associated requirements, I encourage you to reach out with any and all questions. I hope my other excellent reviews and returning tenants will serve as confirmation that this review was just the result of a grudge.
A nice condo with a convienent location
Thank you, we had a very nice week.
Your place was just as the pictures showed. This was a relief as this was the first time i had rented via a website.
The condo was clean and had a nicely stocked kitchen to cook meals.
The location was very near to some of our favorite spots to hike and swim.
The upstairs was large and clean with plenty of room for dining, watching TV or playing card games at night.
The back deck was nice to sit on in the morning or afternoon to relax.
The downstairs was a nice space as well. The master bedroom was clean and the bathroom off it was very well kept up. The bedroom with the double beds as perfect for two teens. The bunk bedroom room was a bit tight for space but my other two teens fit comfortably. More than that would be a challenge.
The two full baths in the basement (plus the half upstairs) was a definite plus.
The camping grill supplied was a bit small to try to cook for a family, a full size grill would be much nicer.
The portable AC in the basement worked well in the hallway but if you wanted to shut the bedroom doors at night you lost out and it got stuffy. Some AC in the bedrooms would be nice.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider this spot again next year if we visit the Valley.
Comfortable and close to everything....
This is our 3rd year staying here, so that should tell you something :)
This townhouse is clean, cozy, comfortable and well taken care of. Our family enjoys going up every year. The complex is small and quiet and has a great pool. The location is tucked away but close to most local attractions (Storyland, Mt Washington, Santa's Village, etc).
Brian (the owner) is responsive and always a pleasure to deal with.
We'll be back next year!
Property was neat and clean. It was amply supplied with everything you would need.
Overall I would recommend this rental property. We had 9 people staying 6 adults and 3 children, that would be maximum for comfort. The owner was completely accommodating. We had an outstanding time.

We rented this condo to go to storyland and santas village. This condo is in the perfect location. It had a pool for the kids to go into. We had one minor problem that we notified Brian about and he called immediately. Would definitely recommend it!!
Historic North Conway. Just minutes to shopping, Cranmore, Attitash, Santa's Village, Wildcat and Story Land.
***Local parks include beautiful waterfalls, fresh water lakes, nature hikes.
