Dodgy electrics and terrible custoner service
The first night we arrived the electricity cable coming in to the house underground exploded and went on fire. We were left in the dark in the middle of cooking dinner with four children and it took almost two hours to get a response from either the owner or his rep. For the whole week we were given the run-around but not once did we receive an explanation or apology from the owner. I think the way we were treated was a disgrace. We were forced to live for a week in dangerous conditions with a botched fix up job that had a live electrical cable hanging head high from the outside gate to the house and in through the sitting room window. Subsequent efforts to contract the owner have yielded no response.
In addition, the house initially looks lovely but after a few days you realise it's in need of a lot of work. The electrics are only the start of it. Musty smelling kitchen, leaking bath (Good knows where the water is soaking in to), torn mosquito blinds, cracks in the bottom of the pool... The photos hide a multitude. To be honest I would have overlooked all this and given a good rating if the owner has just apologised and offered a suitable addition for the electrical problem.
We received a phone call from this customer at 9PM on Saturday 22nd August stating that there had been a power cut. I advised her that we would send an electrician straight away. We arranged this and the electrician arrived within an hour. When he arrived at the house he found the main electricity box had blown up and the cables in the ground had melted. He worked tirelessly to restore power to the house that evening and eventually finished at 1Am. He secured a cable 2 .50 meters above the ground into the main fuse box in the house. The cable was secure and protected, we have photos to prove this. He rang me at 2 Am to inform me that to replace the cables would involve digging the ground up and was a major job. The power was restored for the customer so they were able to use the electricity as before.
We sent another electrician on the Monday to double check the situation. He confirmed back to us that it was indeed a major job to dig up the cables. We informed the insurance and they then sent another electrician to check this. He visited the house on the Wednesday to check the work carried out and informed the customer that the job would involve a whole day of digging/repair work and this would be done at a time when there were no customers staying in the house. 3 electricians had confirmed the cables were safe and the customer was not in any danger. I am mystified as to why the customer has asked for compensation for something that was dealt with straight away. The power was restored hat night and they were able to continue enjoying their holiday. We have always dealt with our customers with respect and courtesy. We spoke directly with the customer on the phone and at no time did we ignore the customer at all. It was unfortunate that at the time their last emails were sent, we were away ourselves and did not respond straight away, until all the facts were gathered.

Aunque la casa no era la reservada, estaba bastante bien, y la persona que nos recibió y nos realizó tuvo un comportamiento muy correcto.

Belle villa agréable et moderne avec une situation géographique appréciable.
Juste une chose à dire c’est qu’il manque un réfrigérateur par rapport au capacité de la maison de 10 personnes sinon rien a dire .
Je vous la conseille si vous devez passer un séjour à Peñíscola.
