Set in one hectare of land in the countryside and surrounded by vineyards. This villa the perfect location for a relaxing holiday in the sun.
There really is everything you could ever need, with the large well equipped swimming pool and there is a full size tennis court which is floodlit too! There is even a table tennis table and table football. WiFi Internet access is available.
The owner of this villa takes real pride in making sure the guests are happy so there is a lovely big barbecue and terrace area for those long lunches and evening meals.
Alghero town and its beautiful beaches are only 8km away, there are some bikes provided if you plan to explore the area. The inside of the property is very spacious and remains cool and airy. The kitchen area is well equipped and opens onto a large farmhouse style dining area with a long wooden table. This villa is perfect for a larger group or for two families looking for a relaxing summer holiday in Sardinia.
The grounds of the house are lovingly maintained with luscious lawns. The owner keeps a small selection of animals 3 or 4 goats, donkeys and parrots and parakeets. These are not close to the house, so do not disturb anyone, but we find these are a real draw for the children.
This property is as described, great pool and tennis courts but it is missing the finishing touches that would make it 5 star and warrant the price. Mould under the seals in the shower, barely a days toilet paper provided for a week stay. Nothing in pantry other than some salt and simple herbs, no tea, coffee, sugar which given the 10+ minute drive into town would be nice on arrival. No microwave, no stereo or other means for playing music. The couches are dated and not all that comfy. Beds are the same, the double sagged into the middle. Only enough hot water for one shower before waiting to reheat No hot water in the kitchen only just warm. Wi-Fi is inconsistent between slow and non existent. A shame really as with some attention from the owners this could be a really top quality property. That said the outdoor BBQ area was great, although again at least a single supply of bbq coals would be a nice touch. Our kids loved the tennis, pool, bocce, table tennis and table soccer. The property is very secluded other than the owner coming daily to feed the animals. About a 10 minute drive into town for supplies and good restaurants. Well located to explore the NW side of the island. Would recommend the drive down to Bosa, go through the mountains one way and back along the coast for the return, a spectacular drive. The grotto is also a must see, don’t bother with the boat take the stairs it is worth it for the experience. If you are looking for somewhere nice for dinner highly recommend Angedras Restaurant which is on the coast in the old town. Great place to enjoy wonderful local food and watch the sun go down. We loved our trip to Sardinia.
The images dont lie; this is truly luxury in every aspect. Awesome pool for playing in, great tennis court with good working lighting and nice outside dining area. Easy to get around the island with cars and there are several beaches within 15 min drive. We were 10 friends staying for one week and would recommend it to all kind of groups/families.
We have had 2 memorable holidays in Alghero staying at the villa we found it perfect for 3 generations of the family - 7 adults and 3 children under the age of 3 all fitted in perfectly.
Villa set along a quiet and easy to navigate road that leads directly into the centre of Alghero - journey takes not longer than 5 mins, airport is approx 20 mins drive.
The villa is set in private gardens which the owner comes to maintain daily - the grass area that surrounds the villa is perfect for children to play on. The owner visting the property daily isn't a problem as the veranda of the villa is surrounded by greenery - in fact he is on hand to solve any problems that may arise.
The accommodation offers all the amenities you require - clean and tidy, modern bathrooms and kitchen, plenty of hot water, satalite tv etc. Because of the young children we ate at the villa for the majority of the time and found the kitchen and bbq provided for all our catering requirements
We spent most of the time at the villa outside in the gardens or on the terrace which has plenty of seating and shade. Space was not and issue considering the number of adults and children.
The villa combined with the attractions of Alghero and its surrounding beaches offered the perfect holiday destination - so relaxing and enjoyable that we visited twice last summer and are plannig to return in July 2010
This was exactly as it says, in a peaceful olive grove but close enough to drive easily into the town. There were 7 of us, 5 adults and 2 children and although that meant that one of the adults had to sleep on the sofabed in the downstairs lounge, she had no complaints about the comfyness and we still had the lounge/diner upstairs to use on the one day it was too chilly to eat breakfast outside. Every other meal and at every other opportunity we ate on the terrace outside anyway so there was no issue with not enough space to sit. Everything was perfectly clean and ready for us and the owner is lovely. He does pop around almost daily to see to the grounds but this isn't a problem as he will stay away from the actual villa unless you badger him with questions which we did quite a lot - he was friendly and keen to help with everything we asked - he even found some buckets to lay out along one of the walls to stop our 5 year old climbing on it in case she fell off!
The beaches to the north - Bombarde and Lazzaretto - we found particularly beautiful with white sands and clear water ( and very empty ) but we went in May and apparently they can get very crowded in the high season. Also it is well worth a trip down the coast to Bosa along a stunning cliff-side road - but it might be worth a little wait until you are comfortable driving on the right-hand side of the road!
I would definitely recommend this property with the smallest of provisos - a couple of notes on how to use the washing machine would have been useful (we were probably suffering from holiday brain but couldn't work it). Anyway, we had a lovely time and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks
We were two families living in the villas two appartments, having a nice time in the surroundings of Alghero. You have to have a car to live in the villa, and that also will get you to the nice beaches in the region. The owner and his wife did visit the villa and the garden around, but this was only nice for us, who was informed about the olives, tomatoes, figs and other good the garden provided both us and the owner.
What a fantastic location, and property! Very tranquil and private. Mountain views. Ideal if you want the country retreat at the end of the day.
We were two families with five teenage girls between us. We all had a great time, and loved the house.
There was loads of room, and is a beautiful place, well kitted out.
Layout was two self contained appartments, which gave both families their own private space, bathrooms, kitchens and there was a washing machine. Plus satelite TV, if you want it.
Entertainment is in Alghero, as there is only the TV at the house for entetainment, (unless you take your own). So you need a car, as there is nothing within walking distance. But saying that it is still close enough to the town to be convienient. Local bakers and supermarket are approx 2-3 km, just as you get to the town.
There are loads of great restaurants, bars, and entertainment in Alghero. Shops are open in the old town till about 12pm. So a passagiata with an ice cream after dinner is highly recommended, also you get some lovely boats in the port...
Beaches are a 10-15min drive away max. If you take the time go towards Fertillia (North of Alghero out past Lido) you will find them fairly quiet...Although there are beaches south as well...It is worth noting there are some further out which provide great snorkelling. And there is diving, and boat hire as well in alghero.
If you want the mountains simply turn right out of the property and you will be there in about 5min. A great place to explore in the car, or cycle /walk if you fancy a change to the beach. Again, there is nothing within walking distance...
We will be going back to this property again, one of the best we've stayed at.
Situated in a very peaceful location in the countryside surrounded by the Vignards of Sella & Mosca. The house is just 7km from the outskirts of Alghero town and a 15 minute drive from the historical centre.
The house is easily reached from Alghero airport within 10 minutes.
The nearest beaches are the Lido in Alghero town and Maria Pia which are both reachable within 10 minutes by car or Le Bombarde and L'Azzaretto Speranza on the North side of town which are both about 15mins away.
The nearest supermarkets are in Alghero centre around 10mins drive away.
