Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time on the pond. The hideaway is great. It's a quick walk into town, which is filled with everything you need, and the pond out the back door is so much fun. We bough inner tubes at the grocery store and floated a couple afternoons. We traveled with 5 adults and the hideaway was a perfect size for us. It was wonderfully stocked in the kitchen and had everything else we looked for including extra pillows, fans and a hair dryer.

We took a moose tour around Rangeley and saw 5 moose. The guide picked us up from the hideaway which was so convenient and we impulsively took a seaplane tour of the region. The seaplane takes off and lands in Rangeley Lake.

Our trip to Rangeley was so much fun. All of us ranked the trip in our top 5 vacations of all time. We hope to make it back one day. The Haley hideaway made all the difference. I don't know if you could find anything better.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five was quite pleased with Hailey's Hideaway. The cabin was very comfortable and well equipped with anything you needed. Packing for vacation with three young kids can be challenging, but this property had all the little things that I did not think about. There was toilet paper, paper towels, condiments in the refrigerator and in the cabinets, dish soap, laundry detergent Etc. As a mother, Those little things make a big difference in helping to enjoy a vacation! We live in a remote and woodsy area in New York. We chose this location because we love the outdoors and we love where we live, but we also run a business from our home and we were looking for something that offered the similarities of our home but without the stress of the business. Haley Hideaway was perfect! Our children our age is 4, 3, and almost 1. We found something to do each of the four days. We took a few scenic drives on Route 17, and around the Rangeley Lake Region. We drove up to Quille Hill to look at the 360-degree view of the region. We rented a canoe and took a trip down the canal Kennebengo River. It was beautiful and the kids love getting out and taking a dip in the water. We made a lot of use of the two kayaks that are provided on the property. We also took the 30-minute Scenic tour of the Lake Region on the Acadian seaplane which is right in the town. We took a beautiful hike at the Cascade Gorge Trail. We also stopped at Coos Canyon during our Scenic Drive. At night time, we enjoyed using the Netflix to just relax after a long day. The kids loved playing with the air hockey table. We also made use of the fire pit and made smores. This house is large enough to accommodate at least two families. We highly recommend Haley Hideaway!

Comfortable, clean, spacious and relaxing.

  • 4 of 5

The whole family enjoyed our stay here. Great house, very peaceful and relaxing spot. Kayaks were a nice plus and we all loved the loons. Quaint downtown area close by with nice restaurants and a grocery store only 5 minutes away. Smalls falls and Cascade gorge were spectacular small hikes with a huge reward! Thumbs up on this one!!

Beautiful House and Pond

  • 5 of 5

This house is truly beautiful and clean and the pictures don't convey just how lovely it is. The owner (Scott) has his house fully stocked with whatever you need. It's set up to go upon your arrival including toilet paper and paper towels which is helpful. There is dish liquid and dishwasher detergent, etc. (The only thing I had to purchase was laundry detergent but I left some for the next guest.) There are even beach towels along with regular towels so you don't need to bring anything. Although, if you run out of anything or need groceries there is a wonderful IGA just 3 minutes drive from the house. The IGA is large and fully stocked with everything (just like a regular grocery store) including beer, wine and whiskey. The produce is fresh and the selection is ample. Basically, if you want to wait and get your groceries there in Rangeley then you can do it with confidence.

The pond is clean and large (as large as small lake in my opinion) and there are two kayaks which my kids used every day. Everyone in our group actually used them and it was a lot of fun. Those little kayaks go pretty quickly and are easy to navigate. It took about 10 minutes to paddle all the way across to the other side of the pond. We had bonfires every night next to the pond and Scott provided wood stacked high so no need to worry about enough wood.

The lovely town of Rangeley is a very small town but has about 6 different places to have a nice meal and is about a 2 minute drive away. (They even have an Asian restaurant which I thought was cool.) We wanted to stay home and cook our meals so we only actually went to one restaurant called the Rangeley Inn and Tavern and it was great! The town also has cute gift shops to buy gifts for friends and family.

Haley Pond is not large enough to rent a motor boat but Rangeley Lake is huge and we decided to rent a motor boat so we could pull the kids on a tube. I highly recommend you do this! It was very reasonable and we had a blast. We rented a boat right in the town so again the drive to do this was about 3 minutes away.

The last thing I want to tell you about is the view. I mean WOW! No one can prepare you for the wonderful view. It's just stunning! It's absolutely gorgeous out there and worth the trip to drive up a little farther to Rangeley. There is a place called Height of Land in Roxbury, ME which is about a 25 minute drive and worth every minute. It's a breath taking view that won't disappoint!

Perfectly appointed accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

We were truly impressed with the accommodations at Haley Hideaway! The owners have thought of everything necessary to create the perfect vacation. The home is situated on a lovely sloping lot, with a private water access. The fire pit is cozily settled in the trees and the pond below has daily duck visitors. The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils, pans, and dishes, even paper towels and detergents which are often not included in other rental properties. The living areas afford comfortable seating arrangements on each of the three floors. The mattresses in the bedrooms were very comfortable and extra throws and pillows ensured comfort. The three bathrooms were convenient and the soaking tub was a plus! Thank you Scott for thinking of everything!!!

Rangeley is a quaint New England town with all the necessities at hand, while still maintaining their rustic charm. We hope to return in the future!
