Promised paradise, delivered hell

On arrival we found a piece of paradise surrounded by rice fields. On site the old stone Mas, buildings set amongst lovely gardens. Perfect for a quiet and peaceful base to explore some old favorites and find new ones. The gite was adequate for a weeks stay. Decent large fridge freezer, good cooker and plenty of hot water, but does need some additional utensils like spatula instead of cake slice We had a private patio and lawn area or so we thought. I did ask on arrival if it was quiet and peaceful - yes was the reply - perfect. Unfortunately the 2 of the gites behind were a group of extended family members who thought and behaved like the site was their own. They were later in the week joined by a third family. I shall not ramble on but having had no sleep since arrival (because of their noise and behaviour) I had the audacity to complain to them. I don't expect it to be like a Cistercian monastery, all I wanted, expected and paid for was quiet and peaceful. In the end at 11pm I called the owner who lives off site to sort things out. It then went quiet. Morning arrived and we found an unpleasant gift on the door step so decided it was safer to leave a day early. So far no response from the owner, its another of those gites where they take your money and leave you. Could be a great place to holiday but quiet and peaceful it was not. People can not share and it ruined our stay there.

Die Anlage ist sehr schön. Der Garten wunderbar und der Pool ist schön. Die Häuser sind aber langsam renovationsbedürftig, sie haben die besten Tage hinter sich. Leider lässt die Sauberkeit zu wünschen übrig.

Très bon séjour

Le logement est confortable les extérieurs sont agréables, la situation géographique permet de nombreuses visites de la Région. La propriétaire est très sympathique. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au Mas Bizerty.

Schmutzige Unterkunft

Meine Frau und ich wollten zusammen mit unserer Tochter und ihrer Familie mit einem Kleinkind in diesem Haus Urlaub machen. Die Bilder des Hauses und der gesamten Anlage waren vielversprechend. Nachdem meine Frau und ich gegen Abend angereist waren, hat uns der Schlag getroffen. Das ganze Haus war voller Spinnweben. Wände, Decken, in allen Ecken, sogar in den Küchenschränken und Schubladen waren Spinnen, Käfer und sonstige Tiere. Zusätzlich roch es stark nach Zigarettenrauch. Das Geschirr und Besteck war von den Vorgängern noch voll verschmutzt, der Mülleimer im Bad war randvoll, in der Dusche lag noch ein Nassrasierer, direkt vor der Terrasse war Hundekot und der georderte Kinderstuhl war aufgrund der Verschmutzung nicht zu gebrauchen. Wir haben sofort unsere Vermietern angeschrieben, welche dann erst am Folgetag vorbei gekommen ist. Sie behauptete das Haus sei vor unserer Anreise "perfekt" gereinigt worden und alles wäre total sauber. Meine Tochter ist mit ihrer Familie bereits am Folgetag wieder abgereist. Meine Frau und ich sind, da eine weitere Kontaktaufnahme mit der Vermieterin nicht mehr möglich war, ebenfalls vorzeitig abgereist. Eine Rückerstattung, zumindest eines Teilbetrages, hat die Vermietern wegen der sauberen Wohnung abgelehnt. Dass die Klimaanlage bereits am ersten Tag ausgefallen ist hat die Vermieterin auch nicht interessiert.

Why they chose this property

She likes to meet people and the pleasure of making others happy.
This old Provençal farmhouse (former commandery) from the 18th century was abandoned before its purchase in 1990.
Accommodations were gradually renovated after construction of the pool.

What makes this property unique

Very peaceful and relaxing 10,500-sq.m garden is surrounded by Laurier roses.
The house is very comfortable and peaceful, with songs from birds and cicadas. Excellent beddings, secure pool enclosure, game room (ping-pong table, table football, library open to all).
Pétanque balls
