Hello and Welcome! To Bigwood Lodge.

This newly renovated home offers a brand new open kitchen, dining and living room. It offers 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms. You will be only steps away from the trail-heads and beaches of scenic East Sooke Park, and a short drive to the wild Pacific beaches and West Coast Trail.

Some of the largest Chinook on the West Coast can be caught here along with other salmon species, Halibut and Dungeness crab right in the basin All this and still only a comfortable drive to Canada's finest west coast city, Victoria.

You will see eagles, swans, otters, seals, and large numbers of migrating waterfowl all from the large deck as you enjoy the sunrise with your morning coffee.

Beautiful location and a comfortable home.

We had a wonderful family vacation here. Sooke has great hiking trails along the coast and we enjoyed the well stocked kitchen.

Peaceful and spectacular setting

  • 4 of 5

Spectacular location with entire back of the house right on Sooke Basin. The views of the water from the back deck and large living room windows were amazing! The house was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thanks Brian and Suzanne for a very restorative and peaceful vacation spot!

Life as it should be

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our family friends with young children had the greatest time. The owner Brian was accommodating and assuring even on a busy Memorial holiday weekend. The pictures do not do it justice. yes, it really does look like that and more! Serene. An evening walk down the road meeting friendly neighbors, seeing deer cross the road in front of us. We had a remarkable time and want to come again. Thank you Brian and Suzanne for having such a lovely place. Fraleys and Chheans

Relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

Family weekend stay at Bigwood Lodge. Gorgeous views from the deck, dock, and balcony windows! The living room and kitchen are well-equipped and comfortable. Central air conditioning was really nice. And the beds are so comfortable! Brian was a pleasure to deal with. We hope to return for another wonderful weekend!

The sooke area offers many different beaches, hiking trails and natural beauty. This house is in a beautiful area, even when it rains! Everything is in the house you need and it's very good quality. Would recommend.

Lovely tranquility, and an occasional bald eagle

  • 5 of 5

Two adults, two children, and their grandmother comprised our party. This house was wonderful for us. Breakfast on the deck, climbing down to the dock to see the jellyfish, and birds too. The kitchen is very well-equipped and they kindly left all necessary staples. (Grilled wild salmon was particularly yummy.). If you are sensitive to light when sleeping, you should consider bringing good eye masks.
