The Shana Residences is a boutique, luxury condo building with only 8 units, and part of the Shana Hotel & Resort. The setting is unique in Manuel Antonio, on Quepos Point, overlooking Bisanz bay, and surrounded by rainforest. The ocean and mountain views are spectacular. It's just a short 10-min walk to Bisanz beach, and a bit farther to Espadilla Beach. The resort amenities are great--a huge, beach-entry pool, Jacuzzi, sunning terraces with loungers, a restaurant, bar and lounge, and even spa services to your condo.
The penthouse has three bedrooms--a primary Master Bedroom, Secondary Master Bedroom, and Guest Bedroom. There is a queen-sized sofa bed, also. Each bedroom has a private bath, and there is also a half bath for the living area. Every room has air conditioning, wifi, cable TV, and a balcony.
Furthermore, the position of the penthouse near the encroaching forest gives it a unique perspective of both ocean and jungle, as well as the most privacy of any condo in the building.

The Shana Residences are special for a number of reasons: 1) The setting is gorgeous, surrounded by rainforest and wildlife, with picturesque views of Bisanz bay and distant beach and mountains, 2) It is central located in Manuel Antonio, yet off the beaten path, 3) You can walk to Bisanz beach in 10 minutes or Espadilla beach in 20 minutes, 3) The amenties are great, including a huge pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, spa, etc.
I hesitated writing this as I want this special place to ourselves! Property well managed & concierge Vanessa made a huge difference! Beach one of the best in the area. It is a 10 minute hike down so just barely worked for our 5 yr. old but we used beach & pool as relaxing break to an “active” family vacation.
My family and I had a great experience in Manuel Antonio and were very happy that we chose to stay at the Shana Residences. The condo is spacious and comfortable. It was furnished with everything we needed during our stay. The deck offers beautiful views of the ocean. We loved being able to walk to the beach and use the pool so easily. We felt safe in this location and found it easy to get around by taxi from the condo. Vanessa, the concierge, was very friendly and helpful. She made planning much easier by answering our questions and helping us arrange activities. Had an excellent stay!
Our family spent two weeks in this condo recently and it was even better (and larger) than the pictures illustrate. We had excellent service from Nicole and Vanessa (Concierge) was very responsive and helped us plan a super itinerary. Monkeys visited every day, we saw Macaws flying overhead, tons of tropical birds and toucans in the tree outside the unit. Playa Biesanz is a lovely calm beach and we also liked playing in the waves at Playa Espidilla. I would love to return one day for a repeat of our amazing vacation.
It is a perfect size for a family of six. I liked the tall ceilings and the ceiling fans. The kitchen size is more than adequate. It is well maintained. The view off the three full and one french balconies is breathtaking and ideal. You view both the Pacific Ocean and the forest, immediately next to the condo, including all the monkeys who live there. The air conditioning worked great, once it was fixed. It only took one day to fix the AC, but I was told we were fortunate that the property manager, Kent, who couldn't have been a nicer person to work with, had a spare part for the AC unit; otherwise, it would have taken at least a few more days to fix, over the New Year's holiday. When we return to Costa Rica in the future, we will attempt to stay here again. Also, the owners graciously refunded us for one night because of the AC. To me, that speaks volumes about the owner.
Condo was flawless. Very clean and cold ac. Hotel staff was welcoming and the food, drinks and service was top knotch. You can't go wrong with this rental.
We have traveled all over the world and this was the best accommodations by far. 2 families with 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms was heaven. The service from the concierge (Vanessa) to the maintenance, and maid was great. The location is spectacular and convenient for restaurants, the beach, and viewing of wildlife. The monkeys come to the balcony.
5 min to Manuel Antonio national park & walkable to 2 beaches.
