We totally enjoyed the home away from home experience. We had our family reunion for a week at the beach. There was enough bedrooms and beds to accommodate our large family. The house was very clean and well maintained. We would definitely consider renting this house again. It was especially great for our 4 grandchildren there was space outside for them to play and the fact that the beach was right across the street made taking then there so much easier.
We were 8 adults in the family and drove from Maine and Georgia to spend a week together. None of us had ever been to Emerald Isle and we found it to be just what we hoped for. The beach was large, uncrowded and the weather was great. The home was spacious and the kitchen worked well for us as we cooked many of our meals. We found the home clean, air conditioned and comfortable. The easy beach access was a must for us and we were not disappointed. We had trouble with the Internet but the homeowner worked to rectify the situation for us. The coffee pot quit and although we were promised a new one by the curator it never materialized. We had a French press so it was not a problem for us. We all agreed that if we ever return to Emerald Isle again we would choose this home again.
We are a diverse family group ranging in age from 2 to 87, and have been vacationing in Emerald Isle for about 20 years. Some of us are 'die hard' beach bums and others just love to get away and read, take naps and watch TV so this house worked well since it is roomy and comfortable and close to the beach. The location is great, very easy access to the beach, about a mile walk from the pier and the beach itself is beautiful...............really great for long walks, especially at low tide. We used the grill and the kitchen is well equipped but we think it may be time for a new dishwasher. One of the upstairs bedrooms sleeps four people but there is no dresser or shelves for clothes.( Beach bums don't really care but some people might ). Sheets are provided for the three queen beds and one king so if renters are accommodating 14 people, they need to bring two queen sets and one twin. All arrangements were well coordinated and efficient. The owners responded quickly to any questions prior to arrival. I think we may have paid a bit more than we needed to for a group of 9 in August but for 14 it is good value, especially if you use the downstairs kitchen and living area. I would definitely recommend staying at Coastal Manor.
I loved the home. It is on three levels with two kitchens and was very family-friendly. We each had our privacy, something that you need with teenagers. The place was very clean and well-equipped and we especially enjoyed the large balcony with its view of the ocean. Th outdoor shower was needed for the many sandy trips to the beach and all the rooms were very bright and airy. All the appliances were appreciated as we mostly stayed in to cook and we got use of the gas barbecue. The beach access was right across the street and the beach is beautiful. I would definitely recommend this home to all.
Very good beach access. With some minor maintenance, I would rate it excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at Coastal Manor over Thanksgiving weekend. The Crystal Coast is beautiful during this time of year and there is still a lot of things to do. We loved the Emerald Isle Christmas Parade and the Swansboro Flotilla. We also visited Beaufort (the kids got to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus there--definitely a highlight of their trip) and Morehead City (enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Sammy's Ice House, where the service is excellent and the people are super friendly). Coastal Manor is a beautiful home that is very kid-friendly and comfortable. Our two girls loved their oceanfront room with a huge window. My parents joined us for the trip, and they were happy to see that there was a bedroom on the main floor---space is a good thing, especially since we also have a 6 month old who tends to wake up several times at night. This home has plenty of the "basics"...pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, etc. The beach access is located right across the street, and was an easy walk. We were lucky enough to have temps in the 60s most of the weekend, so we spent a lot of time on the beach. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were very accommodating and answered all of the questions we had beforehand. We can't wait to come back and stay longer next time!
Enjoy the NC Aquariurm in Pine Knoll Shores less than 10 miles away, Fort Macon State Park at Atlantic Beach where admission is free and you can relive the history of the Civil War battles which took place there, Historic Beaufort which was the home to Blackbeard, Maritime Museum in Beaufort, Deep Sea Fishing charters nearby, Croatan National Forest walking trails in Cedar Point, Pedestrian Ferry at Hammocks Beach State Park is the only way to get to Bear Island where you can explore the undeveloped and unspoiled barrier island. There is a bike/ walking path nearby that runs through the town. New boating ramp nearby on the Sound Side of the Island and the driveway of the house is large enough to park a boat and trailer.
