A little piece of Portuguese Heaven

This is a fantastic apartment, spotlessly clean, and furnished with everything you could ever need for a quiet, relaxing holiday, Bernard and Angelica really have thought of everything to make your holiday stress free. They welcomed us with a bottle of wine, fresh oranges, delicious croissants, and the best marmalade I have ever tasted, believe me.

Underground car parking is a plus in the heat, and you are literally 50 metres from one of the best seafood restaurants on the coast, Noelia e Jeronimo, the Dorado ceviche is awesome. Everything you could wish for is within easy driving distance, and the Eastern Algarve really is an unspoilt paradise, Ria Formosa is beautiful, and the short boat ride to the awesome beach is great fun too.

In short, you will not be disappointed, and we will definitely return.

Lovely apartment

This lovely duplex is spotlessly clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The apartment is light, bright and modern, and is in a quiet location with lovely views. Bernard and Angelica welcomed us warmly with gifts of beautiful oranges, croissants, jam and wine, and the apartment contained everything we needed and more to make our week's stay trouble-free and enjoyable. There is covered parking underneath the apartment and restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are just a short walk away along the seafront. We highly recommend this apartment and hope to revisit soon.

Fantastic homely apartment surrounded by amazing scenery in a gorgeous location..

We had a fantastic stay in this homely and inviting apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean, and we never tired of the views from the lounge window! The beaches and views surrounding the apartment are stunning and Cabanas Beach is such a tranquil and beautiful area. The winter time was such a quiet and peaceful time to visit and we will be back to this special place for sure! Thank You Bernard and family for your help and generous hospitality of marmalade, wine and cakes which were all greatly received! We have very fond memories of a great holiday.

A wonderful winter break

We enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing 11 days in this beautiful apartment in Cabanas. We found the location of the apartment to be really beautiful, looking out over the ria Formosa from one window and lovely countryside from the other.

We were warmly welcomed by Bernard and Angelica and felt quite overwhelmed at their generosity in bringing us homemade marmalade, wine, croissants and vast quantities of gorgeous fresh oranges, that we enjoyed juicing during our stay.

The apartment is well equipped and the icing on the cake was having a memory foam mattress that allowed for a superbly comfortable night's sleep, a rare experience for me when I'm travelling.

We enjoyed sitting watching all the local bird life, seeing the sun rise over the water and having easy access to the boardwalk that runs all along the front. We were able to walk straight onto a number of lovely pathways from just outside our door, at the same time as having easy access to all the local restaurants.

We didn't have any problems at all, but felt comfortable that Bernard would have responded quickly and helpfully if we did.

This is a beautiful spot and I can thoroughly recommend the apartment. If you like tranquillity and nature, the winter time is a perfect time to visit, with a great deal of sunshine. Just remember to bring some jumpers with you, as the early mornings and evenings are chilly here.

Amazing apartment

This apartment in our opinion has one of the best positions in the village of Cabanas - right on the front with views of the boardwalk and sea.

The apartment was extremely well equipped providing beach towels, cool bag and sun umbrellas for the beach. It is well maintained by the owners, tastefully decorated and spacious.

The owners provided very good customer service throughout and were lovely people.

There is no need for car hire as we found the local taxi"s and trains to be easily accessible and cheap. We took the train to Albufera.

There is a good selection of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk from the apartment to suit varying budgets. We particularly liked .Pedros.

We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is thinking of visiting this area of The Algrave which appeals to couples and families.

Splendid Everything

This duplex is located at the far eastern side of Cabanas board walk. The living room over looks the beach area & the side balcony the Forte de Joao da Barra (old fort, now a b&b). The road out of Cabanas does run along the eastern side of the apartment however we did not experience any undue noise at any time of the day. We slept with the bedroom doors open and were sometimes woken during the night by the garbage collection vehicle - this was not a problem for us and could have been solved by sleeping with the doors closed and the aircon on.

As stated in many of the other reviews, the accommodation is very well appointed, it easily accommodates two couples and Bernard & Angelica are most welcoming. The aprtments many paintings and pictures are most interesting and the owners provided for all eventualities including a cool bag and umbrella for the beach!

On the lower level the duplex has a small balcony overlooking the fort which is ideal for breakfast &/or lunch. On the upper floor there is a roof balcony which is reached via either of the two bedrooms. You can take the afternoon sun on this balcony and provides a quite spot for an aperitif.

The apartment block itself is safe and well presented. It is just fifty yards to the ferry crosses the river estuary to the beach. The beach is spectacular and is just like a giant sand bar.

The walk along the modern board walk (which is raised) provides an easy amble along Cabanas sea front, pass many of the resorts restaurants, snack bars and small shops. On the board walk you will also find a number of kiosks offering boat trips to Tavira and parts of the Ria Formosa nature reserve.There is a small Spar shop which sells most things is within two hundred yards of the accommodation.

Whilst some may hire a car, it certainly is not needed as there is plenty of easy walking, a boat taxi or bus that will take you to Tavira and beyond. In addition there are a number of coach excursions available and we did take the trip to Seville which was most interesting.

Bernard's communication throughout the booking process was excellent and both Cabanas and the duplex are highly recommended.
