Costa Del Sol: Spain's `sunshine coast' is one of Europe's favourite holiday destinations. With an average of 320 days of blue sky annually, it is perfect as a summer holiday or as a winter destination for golfers, walkers and those wishing to pursue out -door activities. Families are particularly well catered for, with myriad attractions, restaurants and of course miles of beaches. Children are not just tolerated but welcomed by the friendly Spanish people.

Despite the march of development, the area still has the ambience of Andalucía, the most `Spanish' of all regions and you do not have to venture far from your holiday home to encounter local Ferris, fiestas and romerias - the scent of Jasmine is in the air, inexpensive wine is flowing freely- come and enjoy!

Fuengirola: Fuengirola is the most family orientated of all the Costa Del Sol resorts. Its main attraction is the big safe sweep of beach with restaurants and bars catering for families on holiday. The Moorish castle Castillo de Sohail rebuilt in the 18th Century dominates the western end of the town and makes a great back drop with gardens complete with Roman ruins running down to the beach. In the old part of the town bars and restaurants are clustered around the Plaza de La Constitution which is lively in the evenings. Fuengirola Zoo is the most modern in Spain and is a great day out that shouldn't be missed by children or adults. From May to September, children will love Parque Aquatico with great slides and watery attractions for both older and younger children

The pretty white village of Mijas, a 10 minute drive up the mountain is well worth a visit for its splendid views and attractive winding streets with their flower bedecked patios and craft and arts shops and the famous donkey 'taxis'

The describtion of the house says close to beach but it doesnt say that it´s a very tough way to get to it. The house is placed up in the hill with a very arduous street.

We were a big family with small children and its not suitible for that, with strollers and Young children. Its also a long stair up to the house when you finally gets there, you have to carry the strollers and the children to get into the house. Also shopping for food and groceries becomes a struggle, you have to take a taxi back up the hills most of the times.

The house is rather fray comparing to the pictures. The couches in the TV room are terrible, dirty and covered with old, tattered dust sheets.

To get to three of the bedrooms, you have to pass through the others. That is not good when everyone gets up in different time in the mornings- you disturb eachother. We also payed quite an amount extra to get a cot, and yet there was not a proper matress in it.

Some things were good too. There where severel sunbeds wich was good when we were many people living there. All the outside spaces where quite nice and with nice furniture- suitible for a big family like ours.

Owner's Response: There is a map on the websites explaining exactly where the house is, the house is built into a hill as stated on the website, yes we did recommend getting a taxi back from the shops as this is what most other clients do. The “ made to measure “sofa covers are washed after every stay, they are not dust sheets! The reason you have to pass through one room to get to the two other rooms is because you are meant to exit through the front doorway onto the pool area. This internal doorway is an option to lock, to separate the 2 living areas. The rented cots are provided by the agency and not the villa, If there is any problem the tenants just need to make it known and it will be rectified. Thank you for your stay, we will review these points and improve for next year. Villa Jamilla

A brilliant holiday in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for my daughter's hen week ... 10 of us in all, although the property would have slept 12. It was spacious - all of us had a proper bed ... no sofa beds - a good start!

Beautiful views, peaceful location yet near enough to any night life required, close to the train station, with cheap fares into the the larger resort of Fuengirola.

The pool and poolside area was fabulous - again spacious, with the sun all day long.

Good kitchen and lovely lounge/dining room. The terraces were fab, with an area for washing etc out the back. The property was very well maintained and equipped for the most part - could have done with a new shower tray in one of the bathrooms - but overall great!

The pool was cleaned every couple of days by a very friendly and charming "young man" and the offer was there for a trip down to the shops to collect shopping etc [ it is quite a steep climb back up ... not for the faint hearted!]

It was perfect for spending time with family and friends. I would definitely recommend it to others!

Great time was had by all .... would like to have stayed a lot longer!!

Great vacation, but no luxury

  • 3 of 5

We had a great time at the House. However the deskription of the House is a bit misleading. It does not tell that the room with the Cods, is a room that the ones WHO sleep next door, has to Walk trough, it has no aircon, and no Windows. The studio on the same floor, is not really a studio, just a bedroom with a little kitchen on one Wall. This room also has no aircon. It says the villa have tv- but you have to pay to use it. should be mentioned.

We spent most of the time outside, and the pool area is so Nice, so the State of the House is not that important- But still i Will comment, that is a bit rundown all in all. The furniture in the Living- and dining room was very used and also full of stains. The kitchen is very badly Equipt. No scissor, no desent knifes etc. we had to improvise a lot when cooking. The coffemaker was broken, and we Called about This, and here the service was great, and the janitor came with a new one- unfortunatly, is was a machine with only 6 cups for 9 adults! The House was clean when we came, but outside cold have used a sweeping. There was not enough Sunchairs for every one, and two were broken. We also told This to the janitor, WHO Said he Would buy new ones,

But they did not Come While we were there. Also we had to Call him, For gas for the outdoor kitchen. We were told there was a poolman WHO Would Come twice during our stay. We came thursday, and he did not Come until thuesday, and again On the Day we left. Turnes out it was a neighbour, WHO did it AS a favour to the Owner, and did not get paid for it. We were Greeted by a Nice lady when we came. She had baby chairs and beds for US. But the beds had no madresses, and when we Called about This we were told they did Not Come with madresses. We ended up using cushings from the chairs on the deck. In the AirPort we had a number we were told to Call when we Arrived, but no one answerd. After several Calls and wondering If some one had conned US, we Called the agent and finally Got the man on the phone.

You can Walk to the Beach and town, but not home, unless you dont mind af steap Workout. We did not have car, so we Would take a taxi back up the Hill. The train is on the Way Down. The House has a great pool, great view, great location. But it is not a luxury House. But IF the Wheather is good, you Can still have a good time outside.

Golf: Costa Del Sol is commonly know as 'Costa Del Golf' If you stayed for a month you could play a different course every day and not travel more than 45 min to do it.

Ski: The Sierra Nevada is approximately 2 hours drive through beautiful countryside from this location and can have snow up to the first week in may. This pretty family oriented ski resort is famous for being able to ski in the morning and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon. Prices are reasonable compared with Alpine resorts and there is a variety of restaurants and bars.

If you require to be in a particular area please check your reservation carefully as the location denoted by the “pin” is not under our control and cannot be guaranteed to be correct. Please ensure that you read the description carefully and ask for confirmation if necessary as there are many areas on the coast with similar names.
