This extremely private, secluded cottage estate is situated on its own 5 acre peninsula with 1700 feet of shoreline with spectacular sunsets and includes a sandy, child friendly swimmable beach with private dock for tenants' boat (max 30' draft). Accessible to all East End fishing grounds - a fly fishing paradise and 2 miles from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club - America's St. Andrews! Southampton Village and Ocean Beaches are within a 10 minute drive. Constructed in the 1920's as part of one of the South Fork's largest estates, the house is furnished with antiques and has a panelled and beamed Great Room and front porch with sunset exposure and an expansive view of the wildlife refuge across the bay. Every room has a water view. It is surrounded by perennial and rose gardens with an herb garden for the serious gourmand.

About Peter Saltini

Young in outlook and heart Architect, semi-retired after many years of running a busy practice based in Park Slope, Brooklyn, who has lived many happy, successful and fulfilling years. At any given time you might find me working in the flower, vegetable or herb gardens, skiing in Vermont or more distant, out on the harbor for a quick sail or cruising to or fishing at Nantucket or points between, cooking in the kitchen or biking on a back road, visiting some exotic corner of the world, or just watching the sunset from my porch, meditating on my beach or with a good book or friends discussing the world in front of the fire. You might even find me dining outdoors with friends around the bonfire, or completing a perennial construction project around the house and, occasionally, perhaps even working over the drawing board or computer! And I will admit to just chilling out at times on the porch with a morning coffee or an evening drink and the occasional cigarette or Cubano!

I am very fortunate to have a great life and be able to live in one of the most wonderful corners of a well travelled world. And it is only made more enjoyable by sharing it with family, friends.... and new Homeaway Guests.

I have never lived, visited or vacationed anywhere that offered a more cathartic life experience!

What makes this cottage unique

The solitude and peace of an afternoon nap in the hammock with a gentle and cooling sea breeze off my bay, or the privacy of a 'skinny dip' from your very own private sandy beach, or dinner and a bonfire with family or friends on the bay under the stars or just a cocktail at sunset from the porch swing..... privacy and simple luxuries fit for a King or President at a cost available to us all! Our cottage and beach front on North Sea Harbour with direct access to the world famous boating and fishing waters of the Peconic Bay estuaries and Shelter Island, Shinnecock Inlet, Orient & Montauk Points, Long Island Sound & Atlantic Ocean. Many guests have found it unnecessary to leave our property for outside recreation. Sunbathing, sand castles, swimming, sailing, windsurfing, clamming and fishing is at your doorstep on our private sandy beach. Our canoe and sailboat will allow you easy access to miles of beautiful beaches, lagoons and salt-marsh. Of course you can also tie up your boat at our dock. Or just relax in the hammock or have dinner under the stars at our teak furnished picnic area.

For stays in excess of seven (7) days, charge for additional days shall be computed at the weekly rate divided by seven (7)

Holiday Weeks will be charged at the price of the adjoining higher priced week.

50% nonrefundable deposit of total rental due to hold at time of booking. Booking will not be confirmed until funds are collected. Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

Holiday makers may have the option of payment by personal check without additional fees or may make payment to Owner's PayPal account plus PayPal surcharges.

100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
