This privately owned 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home is best described by the reviews of our guests over the years. It has everything you will need to enjoy your time at the beach. The home sits on the sand, slightly above the beach. The patio, family room, master bedroom and deck share panoramic views of the ocean south to La Jolla and north to Camp Pendleton. With an open lot to the south, the openness of the fully equipped kitchen and large family room provide panoramic views of the water while cooking, dining and relaxing. Lounge on the patio and enjoy watching the waves break or the frequent visits from jumping (and sometimes surfing) dolphins. The beach is known for its good surf, so enjoy boogie boarding and surfing on the boards that are provided. A private sand area on the patio is perfect for private sunbathing or keeping an eye on small children who can play in their own private sand area with the collection of sand toys provided. Next to the house are the horseshoe pits that can also double as a bocce ball court or bean bag toss using the equipment provided. Access to the beach is just off the south side of the house, walk out the sliding doors down the slope to the vacant lot and you are on the beach. The patio has an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, an extra large remote controlled awning for shade, and plenty of chaise lounges for sunning. The garage holds a ping-pong table, fishing poles, surfboards, boogie boards, a stand-up paddle board, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, two beach cruisers, canoes and a variety of other toys, beach equipment and games for all ages.

The Oceanside pier is just a mile's stroll up the beach where you will find a variety of restaurants as well as a movie theater. The Oceanside harbor is a short distance past the pier and features more restaurants, water sports activity and sailing/fishing charters. Enjoy a ride to the pier and back on our two beach cruisers, or take a stroll and enjoy the views.

The San Diego Zoo, Wild Safari Animal Park, Lego Land, Gaslamp District of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park with all its wonderful museums are just a 30 minute drive down the freeway. Horse racing at Del Mar racetrack is just 20 minutes south (the race season runs from mid-July to the first week of September). A little over an hour away you will find Disneyland, California Adventures, and Knott's Berry Farm. Bicycle trails for road and mountain bikes abound, and you will see riders passing in groups daily up and down the street. Just one short block south is Buccaneer Park which includes a tasty little food hut for lunch, snacks, and sometimes dinner (you would be surprised at the menu and the food, it is quite good). The park also has a basketball court, swings, and slides for young children.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an assortment of cooking tools, an array of spices are provided as is coffee and soaps and cleaning materials. The house has a large screen TV in the kitchen/family room, each bedroom also has a TV. There is an assortment of DVD's as well as a bluetooth speaker unit for your own music. Two WIF access addresses are available throughout the house. The garage can accommodate 2 cars and has an epoxy finished floor. The ping pong table folds down in the garage where you will also find boogie boards, foam surfboards, and miscellaneous sand and beach toys .

About Owner/Property Manager

Our family has enjoyed this beach house as our second home for over 10 years. With the kids now grown, we have decided to share the experience of an exceptional place to stay with others, so they can enjoy a relaxing get away in a very private and nicely maintained setting.

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Townsite

One of the only properties on the beach with an open lot beside it, the home provides an open air and uncrowded feeling with bright open morning and afternoon sun. It also has an easy sand path providing access directly to the beach, all the toys you could want, and a fully stocked kitchen. Great surf spot with all sorts of restaurants and shopping just a short distance away. There is a family park a block away for the kids that also houses a wonderfully quirky food hut that offers take-out breakfast (breakfast burritos are amazing) or sit down meals with an outdoor experience that will surprise you and have you coming back day after day.

Lots of good restaurants are available in walking distance, shopping is very close by, less than 5 minutes for groceries of all types, Starbucks, and drugstore, 10 minutes to large box stores like Wallmart, Sports Authority, Costco. Bike and surfboard rental places in walking distance. Fishing boat charters in the harbor a mile away and a rail station within a mile for trips to Downtown San Diego.

An ocean lover’s dream

“The best master bedroom in the world” said my mother. The ocean view from sitting in bed is 180 degrees with waves crashing, surfers surfing and dolphins jumping. The best activity was just staying at this lovely home and watching the ocean and the sunsets. Our host was very helpful and I would definitely come back to this rental for another vacation.

Great location!!!

What a great vacation rental. If you're looking for a awesome location in the north county area of San Diego this is the spot. This house is on the water and we had dinner on the patio most nights while enjoying the beautiful sunsets. The house has all of the amenities you'd expect in your own home yet alone a rental home. Tony was there to answer any questions we had. We had a problem with the awning operating and he was there immediately to fix the situation. I would recommend this rental to anyone and I will be staying here again in the future.

Wow 5 Stars Easy

They house is just as described. Big beautiful and clean, clean, clean. In our first walk thru of the house each room was not only clean but smelt clean. Even the windows which easily get messed up on beach front properties were spotless! In the house were all the amenities you would want for a fun stay on the beach. Water toys, sand toys, beach chairs, games, ping pong, a great very clean Weber BBQ, 2 wireless signals, flat screen TV's, blue tooth stereo and a very well stocked kitchen with a huge fridge. I mean what VRBO have you rented that even had a salad spinner, seriously this place is stocked with everything you need. The furniture was very good, not beat up rental stuff but very nice furniture. The house in general is very well decorated and makes you feel right at home, if home is "a luxury beach house." We will definitely be looking to rent here again.

Our Host Made the Difference

We've all but given up on staying in hotels to opt for vacation rentals...in London, Paris and the Sonoma Coast. What we've learned is that our host sets the tone of our visit, and owner Tony is the perfect example. Every detail of our stay on Buccaneer Beach was tended to, so much so that I can't list them all here.

So let me say that the focus of our stay was on fun and relaxation. To be sure we had fun, Tony has provided all kinds of toys...surf boards, boogie boards, paddle boards, beach cruiser bikes...you name it! He also has a ping pong table and board games and sand castle building tools. The garage is full of all these things that make your stay entertaining and FUN!

Then there's the relaxation of living on the beach...watching the sun rise and set with panoramic windows that bring the ocean right to your feet. The kitchen was stocked with snacks and drinks, and Tony even brought by a bowl of juicy oranges from his tree at home. We just opened the doors and let the sound of the surf flood the house.

All the creature comforts are provided including movies and premium channels on the giant HDTV. We loved the incredible wrap-around ocean view from the master suite and lounging on the deck to watch the surfers. There's even a playful resident ground squirrel to entertain you!

Be sure to walk down the beach to The Buccaneer Café, and enjoy a ginormous breakfast burrito. For dinner Tony recommended the 333 Pacific restaurant at Oceanside Pier where the seafood was excellent. He made us feel welcome, and Tony's hospitality is what makes the difference at this beautiful home.

Awesome home with incredible views!

This home was perfect for our family! The views are absolutely stunning and Tony, the owner, was fantastic! We are a family of eight. 6 kids under the age of 9. The kids LOVED the bunk beds, private beachfront, body boards, and beach toys! We enjoyed the ocean view, especially watching the professional surfers ride the waves. There were beach bikes, surf boards, body boards, a ping pong table, and many board games and movies. We rented wet suits from a cute shop around the corner that Tony recommended to us! There is also a very cute coffee/ surf grill shack about 1 block away where we enjoyed yummy snacks and coffee! Tony was so great to have lots of snacks, and beverages when we first arrived. The kitchen was great and had everything we could imagine. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this property without hesitation. Thank you Tony!

Wonderful Beach House

This was the most amazing house! The space was amazing - great views from the kitchen, living area and master bedroom, spacious bathrooms and a great patio / outdoor area. Mr. Ditty went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, with snacks waiting for us on the counter when we arrived - the perfect treat after the flight and drive from the airport. We took advantage of the beach toys and had a blast in the waves crashing right in front of the house. There is plenty to walk to and see - we enjoyed a jog down to the pier and a walk to a cafe for lunch. You literally couldn't ask for a more perfect beach property. I would recommend this property to any group - from traveling families to girlfriends looking for a getaway - we want to come back every year! I
