Great cozy A frame with a view
Felt like home. Lots of natural light and sunshine in the morning. Access to Pine Creek and very close to biking and hiking trails. Great place. We will go back for sure!
Not private enough
The A frame was between 2 houses very close, front to back. It was as of we were being watched. The storage rental units were not appreciated either. The refrigerator was a shock. There should be a large one in the kitchen. I didn't need an oven but I'm sure someone will be expecting one someday. Overall, it just wasn't very private.
I'm sorry you were not satisfied with your stay.
Yes, there is an efficiency refrigerator in the kitchen and there is no oven, although all those are disclosed in the offering. I hope you had an opportunity to review that before your arrival.
The proximity of other buildings is nearer than some might wish, although traffic is minimal. The owner and his wife live in the house below the A-frame, the house to the north is our office and a second rental, but it is 250+ feet away. The storage units have minimal traffic and a hedge is being developed (has been planted) between the A-frame, the other rental and the storage units.
We hope you enjoyed the area and will return to the Pine Creek Valley again.

Great get away!
Very nice comfortable place to relax and unwind. Hiking, nice places to eat especially enjoyed The Old Antlers Inn. Beautiful photo opportunities abound. The owners think of everything to make your stay enjoyable. If you have trouble going upstairs the spiral stairs could be an issue, but there is a queen size pull out downstairs. Will consider returning again. Thank you .
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay.
We look forward to seeing you again,
Your friends at Sylvan Glen
Perfect For A Quick Getaway To A Great Area For Hiking, Biking, Etc.
We had a wonderful time here.
Peace and tranquility
The A frame has a lovely rustic charm very near to a small friendly town. The email sent from the owners gave exact directions and helpful hints to shops and restaurants etc which were brilliant. We were informed that there were only a double bed and double sofa bed so bear that in mind when you book. It was fine for us as we had planned accordingly. Everything is ready for you including all the littke things such as dish soap and towels a plenty. The river is on your doorstep and a place to hire kayaks. Deer run through the garden. Squirrels eating nuts on your porch. If you are looking for a peaceful break away this is perfect.
Such a pleasant stay!
This place is incredible! It's a cute one bedroom with an open spiral stair case. Immaculately clean and very private. We wished we'd had more vacation time to enjoy it longer! The owner and cleaning staff could not have been nicer or friendlier; very helpful, too!
Pine Creek is right there for fishing and photographing. It's a beautiful location. Lots to do around the area! We came to relax and fish, which is what we did. You'll be amazed at how tranquil it is at night!
WE'RE NOT IN MANHATTAN, NY. WE ARE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR NORTH OF WILLIAMSPORT, PA & 1 HOUR SOUTH OF CORNING, NY AT THE "THE PA GRAND CANYON!"
If you're looking for a little more than just sitting on the deck, relaxing with your favorite drink and watching the water meander down the stream, and the wildlife ramble across the yard, you should check out the following.
You can catch the snowmobile trails right from your door; Hop on your sled and head out for the day.
Head West and check out the PA Lumber Museum 814-435-2652. They offer several events throughout the year. Log rolling is my favorite. Maybe you should give it a try.
The "Coudersport Ice Mine" in the summer is the place to be. It is amazing to see ice in the mine, yet the outdoor temperature can be as high as 90°.
"Leonard Harrison Lookout" and "Colton Point State Park" to our East provide breathtaking views of our PA Grand Canyon and are also great for hiking, bird watching and mountain biking. The Rails to Trails that run through the canyon, along Pine Creek is great for the Bicycle enthusiast. Don't forget to check out the Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison.
Pine Creek is great for whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing (trout are stocked). Pine Creek Outfitters, (570) 724-3003, can help you out with whatever equipment you might need. They can also help out with transportation from your destination back to your starting point.
"Old Covered Wagon Rides" is the place to go and mosey down the trail through the PA Grand Canyon on a horse drawn covered wagon. The knowledge that they share about this wonderful wilderness area is remarkable. 570-724-7443.
If you are into star gazing, you will definitely want to head to Cherry Springs State Park. They are famous for their dark skies. Oftentimes, you are able to see the Northern Lights. 814-435-5010.
Tyoga Country Club 570-724-1653 is the place for your golfing enthusiasts.
Come to Wellsboro during the holidays and you'll find Christmas Trees on the boulevard between the gas lights that are dressed with pine wreaths. At Dickens of a Christmas (First weekend in December) you'll see our town dressed in their very best Victorian garb. The streets are closed to motorized vehicles so that you can explore; Check out the local businesses as well as hand made items offered by the locals. There are vendors in front of all the stores and carolers on the street corners. If you need a snack, try some of the hot kettle corn. They make it on the spot like many of the other foods and goods that are offered on the streets. Another favorite is home made peanut brittle. Our local Maple Syrup is a must try too.
The sunset dinner ride on the "Tioga Central Railroad" might be a great way to end your day. 570-724-0990.
Lyman Run State Park, 814-435-5010, offers boat rentals and beaches so that you can get in your water activities. There is ice skating in the winter.
The "Corning Glass Museum" is just an hour north and well worth the trip. You'll actually see glass blowing demonstrations. 800-732-6845.
Multiple wineries are a little over an hour north of us.
