Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Ballyconneely

Renovated charming old cottage - 3 bedrooms (one attic), 2 bathrooms

Hanging at the end of the west of Ireland on the 'Wild Atlantic Way', the largest coastal road marked in the world (2400 km north of Donegal, Cork in the south), and located on a 'boreen' ( Irish word for a small country road) leading in the unique environment of peatlands, our little cottage is surrounded by a garden with old stone walls and fuchsia hedges. The interior is comfortably furnished with antique Irish pine, a fireplace which burns a peat fire, many books of Irish authors (in French and English), charts, games.

French TNT satellite TV. Wi-Fi internet access. Pub / grocery / gas station / ATM 800m.

The pleasures of the sea are nearby. Ideally located for exploring both the mythical Connemara mountains, the bog and the color of the ocean Caribbean.

Recommended for golfers, horse riders, hikers, cyclists, fishermen walking, lakes, fly, sea, lovers of breathtaking landscapes, bathers too chilly for families with children of all ages , the bird, botanists, dreamers, great sports ... Many activities for all.

Very complete and cozy

  • 5 of 5

A very hospitable welcome by the housekeeper with fresh crab and a hand to prepare them immediately made the important first impression.

We found a very satisfactory house, tastfully decorated with a lot beachfindings and very cozy. Makes you feel at home immediately. A great stock of books, booklets and maps about the surroundings of the house. Very useful with discovering nature and culture of Connemara. The presence of many books in the house makes one feel at home anyway.

Also a very complete kitchen with all the utensils you need. And a very good stock of cooking ingredients too.

A loose wallmount of one shower was really the only thing that needed improvement. Still, this could not spoil our fantastic stay in this fantastic home.

Finally, the location was great: close enough to the main road to reach other parts of Connemara quickly, far away enough from this road to enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Just across the main road another small road leads to a beautiful and quiet, small beach with graveyard within 2 minutes. Truly a super location!

Owner's Response: Dear Marion and Ron, Thank you so much for taking time to write such a nice review about your stay in our little cottage. We are so pleased that you highlight the fantastic welcome you got from Mélanie: we are very lucky to have her as our friend and homekeeper. She certainly has to be praised for the immediate good feeling and it is most important for us that our guests enjoy every single minute they spend in Connemara. This is also why our exchanges by email before your stay were important for us: knowing what our guests are looking for is essential for us so that we can point to "custom-fitted" activities. Thank you also to you for mentioning the "technical" problem with the shower: it has now been fixed! More improvements will be made to the cottage during the winter time, including a proper third bedroom upstairs...

Excellent séjour !

  • 5 of 5

Charmante maison

  • 5 of 5

A recommander

Très agréable

  • 4 of 5
