Great home away from home.
We loved our stay! The house was perfect for family and easy to get around for our vacation. I would say that the garage is very small, so if you have a big rental car, just park on the street. But I would stay again in a heart beat if we go back!
Very nice! Almost perfect.
Beautiful home and great neighborhood. The manager of the property, Cindy, was very nice and helpful. Halloween was a good time to visit because many of the houses had wonderful outdoor decorations. Loved the woodwork in house and the old pictures. Home was well stocked. Kitchen was very nice. I was happy to find that our Chevy Traverse SUV fit in the garage. Street parking was easy for our other car. Plenty of hot water for 10 people to take showers daily. UBER was at our door within minutes every time we called. I would have rated 5 stars but there were just a couple of things I would improve on. The door would not open to the balcony of the upstairs bedroom so we could not enjoy that space. The patio needed a good sweeping. I would also invest in new blinds in the master bedroom. The owners have obviously spent a ton of money on very nice upgrades to the house, they may have just not gotten to the blinds yet. Finally, I was hoping the location would be withing walking distance to the National Mall, Museums, and Monuments but it was a little to far. It would have been about a 45 minute walk. Uber got us there for around $8.00 so not that big of deal. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for you stay in DC!
The Perfect Capital Hill Experience
I cannot say enough about how wonderful this property is. I stayed here with friends at the end of September early October and this home was perfect in every way. First of all the entire home is spotless and beautiful and is so convenient to everything and having an enclosed garage for the car was one of the things that drew me to this listing. The outdoor area is beautiful and the inside of the home is filled with charm and the kitchen is amazing. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows and bedding were perfect. You feel yourself start to relax the moment you enter this home and you do not want to leave. Cindy who was our onsite host was nothing short of amazing. Each and every detail of the home was explained in great detail and we had metro cards and breakfast items waiting on us. The neighborhood is a beautiful walking neighborhood and Eastern Market with shops and dining is just a short walk away. Anything and everything you need to have a perfect D.C. stay is at your fingertips. From the moment I booked this stay Cindy and Lauren were in contact with me every step of the way. I will absolutely return as soon as possible.
We had a wonderful experience at this lovely home. It was nice to return to a quiet location after a busy day of site seeing. The amenities were numerous. The house is close to many great restaurants. Museums were a short Uber away.
Excellent location. Very well maintained and clean. Little extras were very helpful. As represented
The house was more than adequate for our family of 6 grandchildren and 2 grandparents. Plenty of space, comfortable and kitchen was large and well stocked. Location was excellent, about a 20 minute walk to the Capitol and less to Metro stations. The little extras provided helped make our stay very enjoyable. The house was as represented, well maintained and very clean.
Lovely Capital Hill House & Neighborhood for family of 10.
We, 10 of us, celebrated my Mother in Law's birthday at this beautiful home. We had a great welcome orientation about the home and the area when we arrived, thank you Cindy. The house was fully appointed with all we needed to have a wonderful 3 days in DC. We had plenty of sleeping options, bathrooms and socializing areas. We were able to have all breakfasts and most dinners at home, including grilling outside!! The huge dining room table was great for nightly rounds of family games.
The area was so convenient for touring around the City! The Eastern Market was a few blocks away and loaded with great fresh food. Many restaurants are also within walking distances...Hanks Oyster Bar was our favorite! We cheaply taxi or Ubered to Smithsonian, many of Museums, The Willard Hotel and The White House, Union Station travel needs and Trolley night time monument tour, and IMAX movie theater. And there is public transportation.
Thank you for the beautiful, perfect house for our visit to Washington DC.
