Lovely Capital Hill House & Neighborhood for family of 10.
We, 10 of us, celebrated my Mother in Law's birthday at this beautiful home. We had a great welcome orientation about the home and the area when we arrived, thank you Cindy. The house was fully appointed with all we needed to have a wonderful 3 days in DC. We had plenty of sleeping options, bathrooms and socializing areas. We were able to have all breakfasts and most dinners at home, including grilling outside!! The huge dining room table was great for nightly rounds of family games.
The area was so convenient for touring around the City! The Eastern Market was a few blocks away and loaded with great fresh food. Many restaurants are also within walking distances...Hanks Oyster Bar was our favorite! We cheaply taxi or Ubered to Smithsonian, many of Museums, The Willard Hotel and The White House, Union Station travel needs and Trolley night time monument tour, and IMAX movie theater. And there is public transportation.
Thank you for the beautiful, perfect house for our visit to Washington DC.
Great spot on Capital Hill
Our group of 6 college girlfriends had a wonderful stay at the house. All the bedrooms were comfortable. We cooked several meals in the lovely kitchen, and enjoyed catching up in the living room and on the beautiful back deck. We hoped to visit Eastern Market and explore the neighborhood a bit, but the weather did not cooperate. Still, we were close enough to the major sites to make lyft/uber very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this property to a family or group.
Amazing Historical Home!
This is one of the best rental experiences I have had. Not only was the house beautiful, clean and comfortable, it was full of character. I highly recommend this rental, and I do hope that others enjoy it as much as we did. It was more than spacious for our party of 8, and in an amazing location. Have fun!
Beautiful Home that accommodated 8 women for a girls weekend.
This home is great and beautifully decorated. We were a party of 8 women and everyone had a nice place to sleep and enough room for all of us to get ready. Everyone really enjoyed their stay.
Great place and great location!
This is a charming row house in the Capitol Hill area of Washington DC. It's very close to the metro, grocery stores, dining, and a park with a playground. Plenty of room for families to stay!
In a word, perfect
The house is beautiful. It could not have been better suited, or more conveniently located, for our family of 10's Washington DC vaca from March 14-22. The house accommodated each of us, age 5 to 75, perfectly - especially the wonderful kitchen. And the younger folks could enjoy their own space, including kitchen, fridge, etc, on the lower level. We loved the neighborhood, the hop-scotch-playing children, the walkers, the easy access to buses and Metro, and the Eastern Market! Wonderful restaurants were close at hand, in the Eastern Market area and on Barracks Row. The National monuments, memorials, museums were all minutes away.
We are so grateful the MacKinnon's made their home available to us, and so appreciated all the red ribbon hospitality touches serve up with the house. Every one of our group would without hesitation book the MacKinnon home again on our next stay in DC.
