Description

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday guest house in Medina - Riad Tibibt

Charming Orientalist riad since 1804

In the heart of the Medina, at the back of a quiet “derb” and a few steps away from the famous bustling Djema el Fna Square, we renovated this authentic “dar” built in 1804 with this passion for orientalism and the memory of the French campaign in Egypt and the Orient dream of Pierre Loti. The 5 suites with bathroom open onto the patio planted with orange, banana and palm trees and papyrus. Here you can only hear the singing of the birds and the lapping of the fountain. On the roof, there is a large terrace planted with trees and not overlooked which is ideal to rest and tan while being scantily clothed! Erwan and Jean open the doors of their Oriental house that looks like a cabinet of curiosities with antique oriental and empire furniture. Fatima, the excellent cooker, and Abdou will be fully dedicated to you during the entire stay.

This is a place to receive your friends, a place where you can hear the birds singing and an ideal place to rest.

Ryad non privato

  • 1 of 5

Simplicity and Elegance

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for simplicity, a touch of elegance and the desire to feel like what it was like to live in the Medina 200 years ago, you definitely should stay at Riad Tibibt.

None of the rooms have locks on the doors. It gives you a feeling of the old days where it was not necessary to lock your doors, because there was no crime.

There is no need to bring your bathing suits. There is no pool so to speak. What is considered the pool is the size of 2 bath tubs located on the ground floor. But there are lots of other things that make up for it. Wonderfull sounds of birds that are attracted by the lush greenery growing in the courtyard. The beautiful voices of Imams with the call to prayer from local Mosks. Last but not least, the incredible roof top. Spend some time and unwind there with a bottle of your favorite wine along with cheeses and cured meats that you can buy at Carrefour Supermarket at the Menara Mall.

The Riad staff is more then willing to store the cheeses and meat in the kitchen refrigerator .

Riad Tibibt is located in a maze of narrow streets. I counted my steps to each turn and I never got lost.

My every day life is the hustle and bustle of the big U.S. cities along with a great life style. My stay at Riad Tibibt was about going back to basics and a reminder of how beautiful life can be without the excesses.

I definitely will be back!

Séjour extraordinaire

  • 5 of 5

Excellent and Charming!

  • 5 of 5

The Riad was so charming and decorated in a unique but contemporary way. Everything was so comfortable, from the bed, the bathrooms, and the service from the staff at the Riad. Fatima's cooking was delicious, and her Meat and Quince Tagine was spectacular. Even the various Moroccan salds were always fresh!

très beau séjour

  • 5 of 5
