Wonderful location and beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely loved this place. I had my 30 year reunion in snowflake so needed somewhere close to stay. Maureen was awesome in communication. She provided the directions and details well ahead of time. It helps me get to the house exactly as she explained. The beds were great. Loved it. I will be back

It was OK

  • 2 of 5

I liked the front porch most of all - it had a great view and there were plenty of places to sit!

I felt like the inside needed a 'once-a-year spring cleaning'. Maybe it was just me, but I like to have things look and feel clean, so I did a little extra cleaning on my own (walls in the kitchen and bath room and the door jams - dirty finger prints, etc.).

I really liked how close it was to Woods Canyon Lake (we went kayaking...it was great!).

Nice location on the rim

  • 3 of 5

My family of four enjoyed the stay at the cabin. The beds were comfy and the AC was perfect for the afternoon heat. The kitchen is small and missing some key elements like bowls for mixing and pepper. It would have been nice to have more than aluminum foil around for leftovers. There were only two trash bags that we went through... And could have used another. Additionally there was an under the counter coffee machine that looks cool but didn't work. I think it should be taken out. The shower was ok and the toilet work well. We had a family of four and there was only a set of two of towels. Luckily my in-laws cabin is on the same street and we borrowed a couple towels from them. The DVD player also was tricky but we eventually got it to work.

One really great aspect of this cabin is the closed in backyard and wrap around deck. The chairs did feel worn out but no one fell through.

I'd also suggest different lighting on the main deck. The spot lights don't stay on and are obviously very bright. We ended up unscrewing one so we could sit outside. I think this cabin is great for the location and price.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. There is another coffee pot on the counter the wall anchored machine is going to have its challenges to take out. I am sorry about the tin foil but we don''t suggest that we supply paper plates and foil etc. Not sure what the problem was with the DVD and the spot lights are actually motion detector lights and aren't meant to stay on all the time. As far as the towels, I;m not sure what happened there but I apologize for any inconvenience.

Escaping the heat

  • 4 of 5

Maureen is always fully stocked and very considerate of her guests needs. Anytime you bring something to her attention that can be improved upon, she takes care of it instantly. We always enjoy our stay but this one was especially nice because I did not have the responsibility for anyone or anything but me and my husband. It was especially nice to escape the heat of the valley as well with being able to hardly run AC at all and sleep with windows open at night. Looking forward to our next visit, The Kopchicks

Memorial Day weekend escape!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the long weekend away from the heat of Phoenix. Great place that has everything you need plus a fenced in yard for the dogs. Front porch is the perfect spot to relax and watch the stars.
