Nice place

  • 5 of 5

Thea and Enzo are great host, they kept in constant contact and very quick to answer any questions that came up. The Condo was very nice, very well maintained. The beds were comfortable and linens were well stocked. The complex was very quiet and easy to find.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The price is very good compared to the local hotels in Silicon Valley.

Thank you Thea and Enzo.

This location was very convenient and perfect for travelers visiting Shoreline Amphitheatre. I would definitely stay here again.

Decent for the Money

  • 3 of 5

The unit was fine and we got what we paid for. Very reasonable if you don't want to pay a lot for the area. Also, the location is on the very outskirts of midtown, but within a 10-15 drive.

I personally do not like renting short-term when short-term rentals are not allowed. The owners rent this unit short-term, but this seems to go against the HOA's CC&Rs. I tried to use the pool, but didn't have a key. When I contacted the owners, they said the pool wasn't advertised which is true. They then told me that "unaccompanied guests are not allowed at the pool." I spoke to a resident who was kind enough to let me into the pool area (though I didn't mention the unit I was renting, so I didn't rat out the owners), and she mentioned that short-term rentals are technically not allowed by the HOA. I then figured out why I wasn't given a key to the pool. Also, the unit doesn't have AC which is ok. You can open the wide sliding glass door to the balcony and cool the living room, dining room and kitchen down. If you do so, be prepared to deal with the very loud freeway noise. However, the breeze from the open slider doesn't help you in the bedrooms. The bedrooms get very stuffy. There are no fans in either bedroom (though the owner offered to mail one to us, which was very nice). Instead, we opened the windows which are above the carports. One night I got to listen to a lively conversation someone had on her Bluetooth as she sat in her car at 2 AM. TMI! Opening the windows means you also hear the freeway which is right next door. The closet in the room I slept in has a strong, musty odor which I found unpleasant. Bath towels were a bit threadbare and the kitchen wasn't well stocked. Very basic. Furnishing are new, the kitchen is updated, and the place has fresh paint and newer laminate flooring.

As a vacation home owner myself, I will not rent this place again because short-term rentals violate the CC&Rs. If that doesn't bother you and you want an inexpensive place to stay in Palo Alto, this place is fine. The owners are very responsive to questions and needs which is always a plus.

Owner's Response: We respect our neighbors by following all of the rules and regulations of the community, and we’re sorry that you were angry that we would not break the rules by allowing you to swim in the neighboring complex’s pool. The pool that you snuck into is not part of our condo complex. Some people in our complex do swim in their pool, but guests must be escorted by an owner who lives in that complex, as we explained to you that unaccompanied guests are not allowed in the pool. Our listing does not state that there is a pool available for guests, we do not advertise any photos of a pool, and we certainly do not encourage guests to jump fences or sneak into the neighboring complex’s pool. Also, short term rentals are allowed in our complex and the person you talked to probably doesn’t live in the same community since you were at another community’s pool. We really appreciate the feedback regarding the condo. We’ll buy new towel sets and we’ll also ask the housekeepers to thoroughly clean the inside of the closet. Thanks!
