About the property

Live like a local in a beautiful, residential neighborhood, close to streetcar.

This beautifully renovated studio apartment is located on the second floor of a carriage house behind a 120 year old home in a prime residential neighborhood in Uptown New Orleans. The unit has a covered porch with a small table suitable for cocktails or morning coffee. There is a comfortable sofa and chair for seating, twin beds or a king bed, flat screen smart tv., desk with work area and drawers for storage, and wifi. The bathroom is new and has storage as well. There is track lighting, a ceiling fan, (of course, air and heat),and beautiful bamboo floors. The "mini" kitchen has a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. Unique, New Orleans posters decorate the space.

To enter the property, there is a locking gate for security into patio area. The unit is on the second floor of the carriage house. There is a private 24 hour neighborhood patrol in the area.

The neighborhood is a prime residential neighborhood in New Orleans, two blocks from St. Charles Ave. and one block from Prytania. It is less than a mile from Audubon Park, Tulane and Loyola Universities.

Within 3 short blocks, guests can walk to great restaurants including The Upperline, Crepe Nanou, and St. James Cheese Company. Other neighborhood favorites include The Wine Seller, Manhattan Jack's Coffee Shop, and Creole Creamery, a specialty homemade ice cream shop. There are banks, a grocery, and a pharmacy as well. The Prytania Theater, one of the few remaining privately owned theaters in the country, is two blocks away and shows first run movies.

The St. Charles Streetcar stops two blocks from the unit and can be used to access downtown, French Quarter, as well as Tulane and Loyola Universities, and the Riverbend area of the city. Magazine Street shopping is just 6 blocks away.

The carriage house is located behind a single family home on a residential street.

This is a great place for tourists that want to experience life in the city, parents visiting students at the universities, Sugar Bowl, Mardi Gras, and Jazz Fest visitors, as well as anyone that wants more than a hotel room while enjoying New Orleans.

Pretty and cozy apartment in charming neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This carriage house was the perfect place to stay through our vacation to New Orleans. The apartment was pretty and very clean with a lot of privacy behind the main home and the pictures don't do it justice when it comes to how cozy it felt in person. Suzanne was a wonderful host - there were several welcoming amenities like coffee, snacks, and extra towels - and she thoughtfully put out some umbrellas for us on a rainy day. The neighborhood is gorgeous and close to lots of local restaurants, coffee shops, and main thoroughfares, which is just what we were looking for. It's also a short run or walk to Audobon Park, which was beautiful for a stroll. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Truly a home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I stayed at this cottage while in town to enjoy the Essence Festival for 3 days. We absolutely loved our stay and the convenience to the trolley, shopping and food. Will stay again when I'm in town.

This has everything you need. It is close to the street car line and some restaurants and shops. It is not within walking distance to the French quarter but is in a beautiful neighborhood. Suzanne was a lovely host and we would certainly stay again and recommend this location to anyone

Great quiet spot

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The space was beautiful, private, and clean. The neighborhood is lovely and seemed like a retreat from the bustle of the Quarter. Suzanne introduced herself and was very kind and hospitable. I will definitely be staying here next time we return!
