My family built this house in 1979. The property was purchased from the next door neighbor on the left. We grew up renting that house! We have pictures of mom when she was a teenager sitting in the bird bath that still graces the lawn by the lake.
Robert Slobe purchased this house in 1979
We built the house in 1981 after the next door neighbors sold us the lot. Been coming to this very spot since the 1930's, renting the house on the corner of Fresno and Lakeview next door. Walking down the street to the Barton Meadow is like walking back in time with Trout Creek, a gorgeous marsh with abundant wildlife and about a mile of pristine, undeveloped shoreline.
The Lake is right there in front of you, Stateline and Heavenly are only ten minutes away and permanently protected Barton Meadows at the end of the street is a step back in time. Beautiful.
The experience was nothing short of amazing! The house was very accommodating and had everything we needed. The hot tub was also a nice plus! I would definitely stay here again.
Affordable spacious house in a great location. We had a great time, house has all the amenities.
This home is centrally located, it was an easy drive to the casinos and to the Richardson resort campground. It is also a great location because the yard is fenced, making it perfect for little ones. Right in front of the house is a public park, and the lake. It's a very short walk to a non-crowded beach area. Every evening we enjoyed spectacular sunsets over the mountains! Every morning we enjoyed coffee out on the back deck. We had a large family gathering here, and ate all of our meals outside on the large picnic table. I think a large group would be harder in the winter due to a small dining area inside. The hot tub is large and perfect location for watching the lake while soaking. A longer stay was made easier by the convenient washer and dryer, and fully stocked kitchen. If you extra towels would've been welcomed. If you remember, bring your own. The house itself is older, but creatively decorated in a cabin theme, with wood hewn furniture. The sleeping areas were very comfortable, the double queen room is very large, and can accommodate several children on sleeping bags on the floor.
We adored this house, it is a perfect rental, and look forward to returning again so I'm here in the future! A great location for a large family gathering. Next time we will bring a kayak or paddleboard, though the rentals are only a short walk down the park. I can't imagine a better location at a more reasonable price.
We stay in Lake Tahoe every year as a family and our family started to out grow the other cabin we used to stay in. This was our first year in this cabin and we loved it! The cabin is much bigger inside than the pictures make it appear. The hot tub and back deck were great with plenty of space! All the furniture was really nice and sturdy but with lots of classic Tahoe charm. The kitchen was well stocked with over 20 glasses and plates each. Also we looked at staying at the cabin right next door but this place has a fenced backyard and the other does not. As we travel with two children the fenced backyard is a must. Absolutely loved this place!
We stayed here on this property for 3 days 2 nights with family & closest friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. We loved the house. We had an amazing time, backyard was perfect & shady. The property is sitting right on Reagan Beach so we enjoyed kayaking, the volleyball area and the playground nearby. To the Slobes, Thank you for sharing your house, We had an amazing weekend, We will be back!
Worked for us with 2 small children as we could walk to park, lovely back yard with wire fence...hot tub. Some plastic dishes for small kids would be great but we enjoyed our stay. We will be back
