Overview

About the property

Large, luxury 4 bedroom barn on the outskirts of Ferryside, West Wales

Trecor Barns is situated on the outskirts of Ferryside, a small village 5 miles south of Carmarthen. It is a beautiful and peaceful location, close to Pembrey Country Park with its facilities (dry ski slope, toboggan run, crazy golf, miniature steam train, pitch and put, bike hire and miles of white sandy beach). The barn is newly converted to a very high standard and has excellent facilities, including, table tennis table, 42' flat screen TV with sky hd, PlayStation 2, iPod dock. The oak frame conservatory and open plan kitchen provide huge open spaces to relax and prepare family meals. The lounge - upstairs - houses the ping pong table at one end and the TV area at the other. The bedrooms are all large, two with ensuite facilities. Trecor is an excellent base to explore west Wales, just 40 minutes from the Gower and Pembroke surfing beaches and with easy access to Pembrokeshires many holiday attractions, it provides a tranquil base within a small and friendly village.

Trecor has been created by joining two barns together, one barn houses the games room and TV room - upstairs and the kitchen, utility and cloakroom downstairs, the other houses the 4 bedrooms. The two double bedrooms are downstairs. The barns are joined by an oak frame conservatory. We have had wheelchair users at the barn and they have said it has been good as it has downstairs bedrooms, there are however 4 steps to reach the level of the bedroom barn.

The barn kitchen is well equiped with Stanley range (similar to aga, but you can set your oven temperature and turn it on and off!), large gas hob, larder style fridge freezer, with ice machine and cold water dispenser, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a level garden area for ball games. Close to the house is a 'secret' passageway leading down to a small river - young children love it. The village is a beautiful 1/2 mile walk down the lane with views across the estuary to Llansteffan Castle. The local shop provides basic essentials.

Fantastic renovated barn(s)

  • 5 of 5

A magnificent property in a beautiful part of Wales.

We went to celebrate a 50th birthday ….7 adults > ample room …..nice touch with the welcome pack.

Within walking distance to a lovely little pub & a nice place to eat is also close to the pub.

Highly recommended, the only issue being is the beds/quilts are so comfortable it’s difficult to drag yourself from bed (although the alcohol could also be to blame)

Thanks Maggie we will be back

So many of us would have loved to stay longer so peaceful and quite. Amazing walking opertunites on your door step .Accommodation was to a very high standard and very well maintained pet friendly and a very helpful house keeper. Pendine sands is a great adventure for families also anyone with a intrested in motorcycle racing should check out the Pembrey circuit for events .Pembrey country park is also a great one to vist with kids or even grown up's. We booked for my wife's birthday on arrival she was overwhelmed the house the welcome pack was superb and a loverly touch .☺I will definitely be recommending this property owner to friends and colleagues .There was so much we could have done in the surrounding areas. Easy access to M4 made it a huge contender as so many of our friends had travelled to be with us .

.

Can't thank Maggie enough for such a wonderful experience.

Kind regards

Jody cole.

BARN FERRYSIDE Property 97040 April 2nd - 6th

  • 5 of 5

It was a fantastic house for a family gathering. Marvelous amenities and a wonderfully warm welcome from the "Domestic Management". We were amazed by the basket of supplies left for us. It was everything we needed and more. Our family really enjoyed all they did at Pembrey Country Park and Beach. Thank you very much Maggie. Highly recommended.

Carmarthenshire has beautiful rolling countryside and pure white sandy beaches. In the area are the National Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney, Pembrey Country Park, Pendine Beach, the race track at Pembrey. Pembrokeshire has many holiday attractions including Folly Farm - small animal farm and amazing play park and small zoo, the Chocolate Factory, Oakwood - theme park, Heatherton - outdoor activities. West Wales and the Gower (40 minutes away) are famous for their surfing beaches, and in parts of the West coast you can still find a beach to yourself, even in the high season.

Ferryside is a small village right on the edge of the Towy estuary, it has one pub a fantastic cafe, village shop, paper shop and post office. The Three Rivers Spa Hotel includes indoor pool, gym, steam and sauna room. It also has a traditional skittle alley and pool table. It has a tidal beach, great for driftwood collecting, cricket, football and children's rock clambering.
