Van A. Snider
About Van A. Snider
We are the three children of a wonderful man, a World War 2 Veteran who witnessed the raising of the American Flag at Iwo Jima when he was 19 years old, who had a lifelong passion for fishing and family. His favorite place to revisit was right here in Key Largo. He had many wonderful friends here in Key Largo. He purchased this property in 2013, and until his death at age 92, oversaw every detail of the renovation and new construction. It is with a great sense of pride that we host families here on Dad's property, because we know how much he loved sharing it. P.S. Our Mom is still kicking at 92 (She and Dad were married 70 years), and she too loves it down here.

Why Van A. Snider chose Anglers Park
This property as well as Quiescence Dive Company (Captain Rob Bleser) next door was the base for many a memorable fishing trip for my Dad and his good friend Dr. Dave Bleser (Rob's Dad who is 93). For over 30 years, they made annual pilgrimages to Shark River in the Everglades for a couple of weeks of the best fishing in the world (According to my Dad), with lifelong friends. Mr. Alton Wells (Who lived the last 30 plus years of his life on this property) was always willing to let them park additional boats in his slip, in exchange for the latest great fishing story over a beer. There is something about the Florida Keys, that I think you will agree, will keep you coming back time and time again.
What makes this House unique
You will be hard pressed to find two acres on the water (facing west) with large private boat slip. This property sat quiet for the last 60 years, shielded from the scourges of modern society until our recent renovations. There is much History on this site. Vintage cast iron street lights reported from Georgia adorn the circle drive. Beautiful mature trees. Unbelievable views of the evening sunset. Each one more beautiful than the last. Creating life long memories with family, children and/or friends. Everything you need for the time of your life is right here.

Our experience at this property was beyond what we expected. 11 family members enjoyed the beauty of this piece of paradise and we never felt on top of each other. Every person we encountered and asked for assistance from at the dive shop next door were always friendly and so helpful. We will treasure every memory made at this breathtaking property. If you are staying in Key Largo this is the place to be. As fantastic as the pictures are, you have to be there to really grasp everything that is offered here. Do not hesitate to book this property!!
The houses and property were the perfect place for our family to explore the keys. There were so many living spaces, both inside and out, that we all (from 12 years to 75 years) were able to enjoy ourselves.
Pictures don't do this place justice. You can tell the owners really care about this property by the little details: the ice maker in the main house island, the bird houses next to fountains that bring a ton of birds to enjoy which you can see from anywhere you would want to relax in or outside of the main house, to the multiple swings and hammocks throughout the property. The cottage was an excellent to have on the property, and the view from the Florida room was the perfect spot to wake up and drink coffee if it were too hot in the morning. They recently added a wet bar, which was a nice touch, and I'm sure the game room they're building will come out just as fantastic.
Van was very quick to respond, and the 2 property managers were welcoming, friendly, and quick to address any concerns.
The one very minor hangup if you are looking for total peace and quiet is that the property is relatively open to the dive shop next door, but this is offset as you don't have to walk or drive to rent kayaks, paddle boards, or snorkeling/boating tours. Everyone there was also quite neighborly.
I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, especially for 2 nuclear families travelling together.
Wow, We are so happy you had a great time. We are proud of the place, and love sharing it. Thanks for your kind words. We hope to see you again soon. Thanks, Van and Marcia
What a house!!! We had the very best time! The pictures don’t really show the total beauty of this house & it’s setting!!! We loved the pool, watching the sunsets from the end of the jetty, swimming from our own beach & lazing in the great double hammock or various swing seats all around! As a family of 8 it was great to have the space to disappear off for a bit of quiet time while the children created games in the pool! The dive shop next door was well used by all of us! The people couldn’t have been nicer!! We didn’t eat out much as we decided the best view was right in our own back garden!!! Overall the holiday was above & beyond what we dared to hope for!!! It was fantastic!!!!
Wow, Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so happy you had a great time, and you are welcome back anytime. It makes us so happy for people to enjoy that place like we do. Have a great summer! Van
We celebrated a family birthday at the property. Wonderful host. Easy access! We were surprised at the size of the property. The two houses gave us space to be separate and function in a group. The pictures don’t do the gorgeous sunsets and pier justice. Fishing off the pier was a hit with some while the lazy lounging in the pool was great for others in the group.
Thanks so much for your kind review. We are so happy that your family had a great time. We hope to see you again someday. Van
Beautiful house and grounds and gorgeous views! The accommodations worked perfectly for our two families: our four boys slept in the cottage and the adults and oldest daughter stayed in the house with plenty of space for everybody. Everything in the house is new and spotless and beautifully decorated. We loved all the many sitting areas outside--especially the porch swing!--and we made great use of the spacious kitchen cooking fish we caught on our boat, which we were able to dock easily out front. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and catching crabs at the shore and snorkeling around the area. There was some road noise, but that can be hard to avoid in the Keys. We've stayed in the Keys several times, but never Key Largo, and we appreciated the proximity to grocery stores and restaurants and the ease with which we could get out to the ocean with our boat. We also loved having use of the bikes! Marcia was a kind host and Van was easy to communicate with and very considerate. Our only problem was some construction going on that disrupted the tranquility of the space, but Van addressed our concerns promptly. We highly recommend this lovely property.
