Pretty, quiet, and cozy

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days here in Trouhaut in the early spring. This little house is well cared for, and with a lovely fireplace a pretty garden, and a nice view down into the peaceful valley. Great place for walks and from which to explore the region. Charming hosts.

Best place to stay in Burgundy!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 20 month old daughter, and I spent three nights at this gem last weekend. Rachel and Laurent were so friendly and accommodating, they even set up a baby bed, a high chair, and brought over a baby bath for the home. The view is breathtaking and the outdoor area a perfect place to relax. It got a bit chilly outside for two nights of our stay, and the fireplace works like a dream, making it even more charming--if that's possible. This was our first visit to Burgundy, and the gite is perfectly located for people like us who want to experience a place the way locals do. Dijon is only 20 minutes away, as is the Rue Grandes Crus and all of the local wine-tourism attractions. We went to Beaune, did the winery thing, traveled the wine road and enjoyed the attractions, but every night, we were so glad to be going "home" to Trouhaut--away from the tour busses full of tourists and the billboards extolling hundreds of wine tasting places. If you want to really enjoy Burgundy, get just a little bit away from the overpriced tourist traps and stay in Trouhaut. We can't wait to return. Laurent and Rachel were amazing hosts and the friendliest people in all of France.

Peaceful gite in lovely countryside

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable well equipped gite; garden, sun terrace for eating outside. Log fire if it's cold. Welcoming and helpful host lives a few yards away. Lots to do in the area and not far from Dijon.

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I had a difficult time getting to Burgundy from Paris due to a series of events that were beyond our control. What started out to be a 3 hour trip ended up being a 12 hour trip. The GPS in our rental car did not work so we had to rely on my I-Pad for GPS. Rachel & Laurent kept in constant contact with us, giving us directions every step of the way until the charge ran out on the I-Pad. It was very late around 10pm when we decided to stop at a restaurant to call because we were so exhausted from driving for so long. The restaurant owner was nice enough to call for us and speak to Laurent who promptly came with his daughter Chole' to get us even though he had to work early the next morning. We followed in our car. When we arrived at the cottage, a warm and cozy fire was awaiting our arrival.

The cottage was so sweet with 3 beds upstairs and a futon down stairs. We were very comfortable in the cottage which came equipped with a washer and dryer. Shopping was close by in Sombernon. We were mostly impressed by the owner's attention to detail, the cleanliness of the cottage and their attention to the needs of their renters. Laurent, Rachel, Chole' & Leah are genuinely kind people. We enjoyed meeting them as much as we enjoyed the beautiful countryside. We also enjoyed the bakery truck that came in the morning. I would recommend Staying in this Cottage if you are exploring the rural countryside of Burgundy and wanting the feel of village life. Thank you, Laurent, Rachel, Chole & Leah for making us feel so welcome and contributing to the happy memories we will have of our trip to Burgundy. Gail - Oregon -USA

Sehr empfehlenswert.

  • 5 of 5

Also liebe Landsleute: Traut euch.
