Great cabin with a great location
Enjoyed our stay here. The steps down to lake were numerous but in good condition. Fire pit and grill were great. Nice tv and internet. Great living space. Close to the marina. Would visit again.
We traveled in from Nashville to visit Mammoth Cave National park. Reserved for 2 nights. First the good Location was great, about 30 mins from the cave tours and the setting is beautiful - in the woods around a nice lake. Weather was ideal. We took some nice hikes down to the bottom of the dam close by and around the lake. Mike the host was easy to communicate with through the app. The house was acceptable, just expected more for cost and 5 star reviews. The house is not updated at all, but was clean and rustic. The front door really sticks when opening from inside. There are many steps down to the water/dock, it would be a serious effort for 2 to get a Kayak down to the dock, we opted not to because the dock was in rough shape, the ramp to the dock was broken and laying halfway in the water, had to do a little leap to get over the water on the ramp to get on the dock. There were boards that were bowing and about to break on the dock - not safe. My 11 year old wiped out trying to go back to the stairs from the dock and landed in the water where the ramp was submerged. There is also a dilapidated pontoon boat at the dock. The house was cozy, could not get the gas fireplace to work (which was not a huge deal since it was not that cold), the bed in the master bedroom was small and uncomfortable (full size?), ended up leaving before the second night since only 1 1/2 hours away from home(really wanted to sleep in my own bed after that nights sleep!). Overall it is a decent place. Needs some upkeep especially on the dock and a new master bed. Probably should charge less to meet expectations.
A great secluded cabin on the lake
This was a wonderful place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet retreat on the lake this is it! Mike was very helpful at answering question prior to arrival and it was also a delightful surprise all the lake toys in the shed. The open concept living room and kitchen also made a great common space. We would definitely stay here again.
We did not mind but the only drawback would be if you had folks with health problems for all the stairs.
Beauty on the lake
You really get the sense that you're "away from it all" at this cabin. Perfect place to be if visiting Mammoth cave, Dinosaur World, and Kentucky Down Under. Fully equipped, and comfortable beds. Thanks so much!
The dock was a perfect place to watch the total eclipse. The house accommodated 9 of us with no problem - such a great lay out. There are 163 stairs down to the lake, so just be prepared for that. We lugged the kayaks down the first day and up the last and it was totally worth it.
The house was very clean and nice.
Our family of 6 loved our stay and the kids loved swimming and fishing in the lake. The water is a little ways to get to.. but worth it.
