This apartment is comfortably furnished to a very high standard to give that home from home feel.

New for 2016 we have installed aircon in all rooms and upgraded both bathrooms.

Included in the rental price is access to the pool facilities of the Marina Club Hotel situated ~5 minutes walk from the apartment..

Located within the secure Marina Da Lagos development, it features private underground parking with lift to the apartment’s front door making it suitable for wheelchair access.

The location is one of the best on the Algarve with the Marina attracting boats and visitors all year round. Its waterfront bars and restaurants offer entertainment most evenings all year round and are just a short stroll away.

You're ~10 minutes walk from either the safe Meia Praia beach, or over the marina footbridge will bring you to the lovely pedestian Avenida and Lagos town itself with restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.

The new Pingo Supermarket is ~2 mins walk, all you require is available including cooked prawns, bread, wine & beer for lunch back on the balcony

Local Pool and Gym Facilities.: Guest staying in the apartment have access to the marina hotel pool complex, just a few mins walk away. (limited to x4)

There is also the community Fitness and Leisure Centre 15 mins walk from the apartment, located directly opposite the large McDonalds drive-in, it features large Indoor heated pools for the winter, there is also Sauna and full Gym.

Enjoy the Balcony and Lake veiws: With its lagoon views the apartment's large South facing balcony is a wonderful spot for relaxing and dinning alfresco with a long cool drink. Visitors in spring can enjoy the sun here from early PM until after 7 in the evening; it arrives even earlier in late Summer & Autumn. It’s equipped with a dining table, two reclining sun chairs with foot stools and x2.

Only 2 minutes walk from the apartment is the 4 star Marina Club hotel with its superb 30m outdoor pool, children's pool and restaurant with sun terrace.

At an additional charge, the club has a luxury indoor spa, pool and gym with plunge pool payable at the Spa.

A council run health & leisure complex with x2 large indoor pools an gym is located within 10min walking distance, just over the road bridge across from the McDonalds, some restrictions include swim caps for ladies and no baggy swim wear for men.

The tourist road train is a great way to travel around a town and helps visitors to get a feel for an area, really useful to get your bearings on arrival.

General Local info: Supermarket Pingo Doce 2 min walk away at the entrance to Lagos. Opening hours winter: 8.30-20.30h; summer: 8.00 -21.00h. 8.30 -13.00h on Sundays and holidays. Provides all your requirements Fresh Fish, Fruit & Veg, Milk and Bread.

Faro to Lagos by Train:

To get from Faro Airport to Faro train station (which is just before Faro marina) either get the bus from the airport (the stop is right outside the 'Arrivals' doors) and will cost you around 1.50€, or get a taxi at a cost of around 10€.

Trains from Faro to Lagos run at intervals throughout the day and the journey takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The train station in Lagos is just behind the marina and it is a very short walk across the marina bridge to the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.

To check train timetables visit CP - Comboios de Portugal (the site is available in English) and select 'Regional and Inter Regional services' to get the timetable for Lagos / Vila Real de Santo António / Lagos.

Please note.. If you arrive after 18:00hrs. There is a €30 extra charge payable to the agent for an out of hours meet & greet.

Also, Please do not use sun creams which contain P20. These creams will mark the leather suites and will result in a loss of damages deposit.

We spent a week in Lagos in 2007 and was so impressed with what this location had to offer for a relaxing hoilday we bought our apartment on the Marina.

We use our apartment all year and we have a number of people who have become regular returning visitors to our apartment.

We speak to all perspective renters to reassure them we are genuine owners and give a local contact number in Lagos of our agent for additional assurance of genuine ownership.

It's ideal for couples, on the Marina, located very close to all the places you will want to visit on your hoilday, beaches, bars, restaurants plus a supermarket.

The balcony overlooks the lagoon and is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine or a beer,.

In the summer when the sun is high, sunbathing from ~2 in the afternoon until sundown ~7:30.

The Apartment is cool in summer & benifits from shade through the hottest part of the day in June July & August, with the sun high during these months, the balcony is good for sun bathing from ~3pm till ~8pm. While in Winter Spring & Autum with the sun lower in the sky, the balcony gets direct sunlight from late morning through to around ~7pm. INCLUDES ACCESS TO Pool ( x4 persons): 5 minute walk from the apartment is the private pool club in the marina Hotel. It offers a wonderful pool with sun-loungers. A private health spa is also available, but not included (details can be found on http://www.marinaclub.pt/) As an alternative to the Marina Club we are ~10 mins walk away from the new Lagos community sports facility ideal for Winter, Spring & Autum with great indoor pools, gym facilities and fitness classes. Other: Meet & Greet, Maid service, elevator from garage, Quality linen, towels and bedding provided (but not beach towels). PLEASE NOTE the BBQ is NOT for guest use.

Great apartment and great location.

Great apartment and great location. The apartment was right on the marina and a four minute walk to town. It is also located in walking distance to a very nice grocery store with a great bakery and coffee for the morning. The use of the pool was a bonus for the kids.

Helpful owners - poor service by Management Company which almost spoiled the holiday!

We stayed in this apartment for 16 nights in July. Ann & Stuart, the owners, were really helpful from the start. Even though we had notified of a late arrival (landed at 20.15) and made aware of the late fee Lauren who met us seemed annoyed! There were no provisions, (a bottle of coke left by previous tenants), no toiletries or water for the first night, and no option to pay for a welcome pack. The apartment was well equipped (no oven gloves?), and comfortable with new bathrooms. Bed linen and towels were hotel standard, but beach towels would really help. The apartment was well situated near the marina and a new supermarket which was good as we do much of our own cooking. One slight issue was that road noise alongside both bedrooms, so no chance of opening the balcony doors (which were unfortunately dirty). We were disappointed that the main balcony only had a slither of sun late afternoon. If you want a sunny balcony don't go at the times we did - July - you will be disappointed. No one can change the position of the sun, but the impression of a sunny balcony wasn't. The passes to the Marina Club were useful and a good way to catch the "elusive" sun.

The property advertised newly-installed air-conditioning, which never worked. When we did need it (July after all), it worked only on fan mode. and didn't cool. Our main issue related to the cleaning (or not) of the apartment and the property management company, Corrine and Lauren from Villas da Luz. The agreement stated, "The property is provided with a twice weekly maid service. This service includes the changing of bed linen on a weekly basis and a change of towels twice weekly, in addition to the general cleaning of the property". We felt this was totally misstated, and clearly got this wrong (?) as we would have had only ONE clean for a 16 night stay and ONE linen change! Really!! for 16 nights in hot weather?!! We were treated poorly by the MC, and blamed for everything! The bathroom floors were not cleaned (filthy) neither were the showers or sinks. We sent photos - not acknowledged. At best, a cursory clean only. No cleaning of any surfaces nor of any outdoor areas including balcony!! (confirmed and unbelievable!) The MC reluctantly agreed to change the linen a second time and inferred this was our fault for not asking! Really?!! Refused to deal with them further. Owners - great! MC - very poor at best! Almost ruined our holiday! Visit Silves and Los Artistas restaurant in Lagos - fab

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We are sorry that your stay was so disappointing compared to all our other guests over the years. Reviewing “all” the correspondence we had from your 16 day stay, I feel the main problem here has been associated with a breakdown in communication, particularly between yourselves and our agent. Our response to your review is intended to guide and reassure future guests, so they avoid similar problems to those you seem to have experienced. Response to Late arrival. Our booking info requests contacting Corinne with an eta at the apartment. While we fully understand there can be unavoidable delays when traveling, good communication is critical, as a call to update a change in eta will help avoid unnecessary worry of an accident, and prolonged waiting late at night, this is especially important during peak holiday season, when busy meeting many other visitors at all hours. Basic toiletry item such as toilet rolls are provided, for arrival. The option for anything additional can be discussed during the pre-booking com's, welcome packs are not a service we offer for many reasons. No beach towels. This is highlighted on the booking form and is not practical for us to provide beach towels. The First complaint we have ever had regarding the balcony sunshine. In the summer months, the balcony get sun between ~15:30 & ~19:30. This has the benefit of shade during the noon period and keeps the apartment cooler. The x4 Marina Hotel pool passes or the beach are obviously available earlier in the day for the avid sun worshippers. Air-con problems. As communicated at the time, we do apologise for this inconvenience, once we were aware of the problem, we did everything possible to try and fix this. Response to cleaning of the apartment and the property management company. We were very surprised & sorry to read this, our agent and her staff are very experienced and professional in dealing with guests of all nationalities and over the last 10 years we have received nothing but high praise for their help and general assistance, normally this adds to guests Lagos holiday experience. This extends across to your comments regarding the general cleaning standards of the apartment. I am at a loss to fully understand what went wrong on this occasion, and would summarise by saying, our agent or indeed us, are always contactable should something require “immediate” attention.

Holiday 18th-25th (Morrisons)

I rented the property for 1 week for a family holiday and we had a fantastic time. The apartment is extremely spacious and modern basically a home from home. The apartment is ideally situated within the Lagos Marina and has ample bars and a large supermarket 3 min walk. From a security perspective there are guards on hand to ensure people and property are protected.

Lagos centre is 10 mins walk and there is a huge selection of shops, bars, restuarants and clubs.

Beach is also a 10 mins walk again thereare a couple of beach bars.

The apartment is ideal for a family or 2 couples...........

It was even better the second time.......

We enjoyed it so much last year, we went back and it was even better the second time, in that you now have access to the swimming pool, which is a real advantage. We were at the pool for at least a couple of hours every day and we had no problems getting sunbeds, whenever we arrived, and it was both quiet and relaxing. The apartment was otherwise as we remembered it, well located,spacious,extremely clean and well maintained and equipped,and a huge sunny balcony, where again we spent a lot of time. The more often you go to Lagos, the more you realise how good the restaurants are. Great accommodation which we would definitely recommend.

Fantastic apartment and beautiful surroundings

Did you ever need something like yesterday and someone pulls out all the stops for you to get what you need - well you couldn't meet anyone more willing to help you - this is what Ann did for us. A travel agent let us down the day before we were due to go on holiday by cancelling our holiday, left us devastated and after searching on the internet we found this beautiful apartment which ticked all the right boxes. Rang Ann directly who helped us immensely. As for the apartment, it is outstanding, beautifully kept, very clean, bright and airy. The balcony overlooks a breathtaking lake full of fish and a stunning black swan who paid us a visit every day (probably something to do with the fact that my husband kept feeding it). The towels are changed during your visit which I have never experienced when hiring a private apartment before. Apartment is fully equipped and you are even supplied with the little things like washing up liquid and kitchen towels - things you normally have to suppy yourself. The marina itself is great for a relaxing walk and visits to the local restaurants. A 10 min walk takes you into Lagos town which is quaint and comes to life at night with some lovely little bars. There are so many restaurants to chose from you are really spoilt for choice. We didnt experience one bad meal and would recommend you try as many as you can - fish lovers will be very happy. The local taxis are very reasonable should you need one, we took an adventure and surprised ourselves by getting a bus to the resort of Albufeira for 5 euros - we couldnt believe it! Don't pass this apartment up, if your looking for luxury with beautiful surroundings you have definitely got it with this apartment. Once again Ann, a big big thank you for helping us out.

Excellent Holiday Apartment

We loved your apartment. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and tastefully furnished with all the facilities you would ever need. We would be happy to live in it full time, never mind as a holiday let. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and some days it was a thought to drag ourselves away from it. Lagos was even better than we remembered it, and we also took a couple of your recommendations for restaurants that you left on the cards in the basket by the TV. We loved the food at Shalimar and ended up going there twice, and probably would have gone again we enjoyed it so much.

We also had sardines at Escondidinho’s which was an experience we loved, and whilst we did our best we were a long way away from having our names put on the wall. (our previous sardine experience was based on a serving of three sardines at a tourist trap in Villamoura)

We hope we will be able to use your apartment again, and have already started to look at how the weather would be in late autumn early spring.

Beaches in the area are amazing, safe and close by. Meia Praia beach which is only 10 mins walk from the Marina forms part of one of the largest bays in Europe and has 4kms of white sand with great surfing and enough room for throwing a Frisbee, flying kites or just building sandcastles. Sun beds and parasols are available for hire and there are plenty of cafes and good restaurants on the beach if you would rather just relax. Within a 5 - 10 mins drive are numerous other family friendly beaches including the promontory named Ponta da Piedade sheltering in the bay of Lagos which is most admired by visitors, with its caves, rocks and wonderfully transparent waters North of Lagos, also Dona Ana, Luz, Burgau, Camillo, and Salema. Take a relaxing 2 hr boat ride for around 10 Euros, you'll see these and maybe pick one to visit the following day while looking at the amazing cliffs and rocks carved out by the sea.

Excellent golf courses in the area include, Palmares, Boavista, Penina. More

Other Activities: 20mins drive from the new Alagve Autodrome world superbikes & other major motor racing events

Golf: Excellent golf courses within a few minutes drive include the scenic and serene Palmares course, an 18 hole par 72, perfectly combines beach and mountain scenery. 'Frank Pennink, the English architect who had designed Vilamoura l and 2 and Aroeira, made an innovating layout. He designed a hybrid course, with five holes near the seaside - a links - and the others on the hillside, surrounded by almond and carob-trees'.

A new course, Boavista designed by Howard Swann, it is an 18 hole, par 71 Championship course & is a welcome addition to Algarve golf and also benefits from a driving range and an excellent teaching academy. 'The signature hole on the outward nine is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique creating a spectacular backdrop'.

A mere 10 minutes drive from the marina is the famous Penina course. This Championship course, five times host to the Portuguese open.
