Phenomenal!!! Fantastic!!!! Incredible!!!!! Wow what a place!!!! I fell in love immediately. Relaxing doesn't even begin to describe it. I shouldn't be saying this as I don't want someone to grab it up when want to go back in 2017. Haha!! Donna was so accommodating and nice. Rarely do you see that. It makes you WANT to take extra special care of HER house. I see nit picky comments and can't believe it. You can eat off of the floors!!! Having 3 dogs is touchy and finding a place is hard. Getting this beautiful home was a goldmine. We took special care to make sure not one hair was left behind. That's what people should do as a thank you! Friends of mine just rented... Not even a packet of ketchup in their place! This home has EVERYTHING!! For the price, the view and the awesome owner, this place IS THE BOMB!!! For those who want more then what this home offers, And choose to complain, I suggest you stay home or prepare yourself to spend about $1000 a night. We couldn't find fault with this home if we tried. And the master bedroom?!?!? If I could've taken that room home with me, I would have!!!! THE BEST VACATION WE HAVE EVER TAKEN!!!!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a great review. Everyone loves this home as you did. Since I am so involved with my homes I take great pride in upkeep, decorating, stocking, and cleaning. I just put a new king mattress in the master and the first guest that slept on it, already commented how great the bed was and so comfortable! I love all the compliments I receive. Thank you so much! You said it all.

Amazing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation was so amazing. The house was beautiful and it had everything we needed. The pool and the balconies were awesome places to hang out. Donna was great. She met us around 7:00 to show us the pool heater controls and she was super friendly. Also we really loved her dog Hankie Pankie. We look forward to renting this house next year. Thanks Donna for a great vacation.

The house is clearly advertised as “home with heated pool and hot tub” but when we arrived the pool was cold and needed to be heated. After that we only used the gas to heat the hot tub a couple hours every night and we turned it off after each use, but we were charged some of our deposit for gas without her discussing this with us. There is no way to regulate and/or track the gas usage so you can know how much you're using nor were we told how much we would be charged if we went over. Donna said she provides half a tank of gas to heat the pool and hot tub, so we were shocked that she said we had used a full tank and subsequently charged us without even consulting us. Additionally one of the patio umbrellas flipped inside out when a gust of wind grabbed it one day, something beyond our control, and we were charged for its replacement. A few other things to note are;

- The bed in the master bedroom is extremely soft and we sunk into divots where past people had slept.

- A couple hand towels had make up and/or blood stains.

- The futon had a big clump of dog fur in it.

- The dishes in the kitchen were almost all greasy and dirty so we spent the beginning of our vacation washing them all. Perhaps the previous person forgot to put soap in the dishwasher?

- The carpet is worn and dirty in spots

Donna mentioned she had four houses to get ready on our check in day, and although we appreciate the work it takes to do this, we did pay for a certain promised quality. Perhaps more staff during the busy seasons would alleviate some of the rushed cleaning. Apart from these things we enjoyed our stay here. The location is amazing as we could walk to the river or the beach very easily and it seemed like a nice safe area and didn't seem over populated. We used the kayaks once which was nice, but you do get wet using them. There's everything you need to go to the beach so that was great. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub tremendously. The kitchen area was well stocked with quality appliances. Donna is very responsive and willing to get anything you might need.

Owner's Response: First of all my homes are all beautiful and very well kept. I have all wonderful reviews and many repeat guests in the past 13 years. I have all the linens clean, folded & ready for each home & I'm very organized. I clean with the cleaning people and go to all homes. March and April are busy months. It is impossible to clean the carpet each week. I clean it before & after each busy season. It was actually cleaned today. You failed to mention how many towels I supply.. dozens of quality bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths and quality beach towels. So you found one or two with a stain. I do check them often. But only a few out of dozens. It would be easier if I only offered 1/2 dozen as others do. Most people understand that when the dishes are stacked in the kitchen cabinet they are assumed to be clean. You also failed to mention that I have 14 dishes, 14 bowls, 14 small plates and dozens of glasses large and small. I do not know of anyone that stocks their homes as I do. Sorry the previous guests put away like that. As for the mattress on the master bed. This is the first time I have heard that it is not comfortable. I have had comments from people with back problems how nice my beds are, so I checked it out myself and it felt fine to me. I will ask the next guests to please let me know what they think. They will have a new bed same day if they say it is not comfortable. You should of let me know during your stay. You asked me for a child's step stool and I shopped and brought you a new child's step stool! Not a normal request either. As for the umbrella...when guests are at my home I expect them to care for my belongings. In my arrival information form you received ... "There is an umbrella for the patio table. Please make sure umbrella is down if stormy weather or if not in use. The umbrella has actually tipped over the concrete table before when umbrella was up and weather became windy without notice. Thank you". That is exact wording you received. Therefore, I really don't feel I should buy a new umbrella when you left the umbrella up when not in use. It is nice that I have so many items for my guests! As for the heat for the pool. Propane heats quickly. Hot tub is 102 degrees in 10 minutes. Pool was 80 when you arrived. The tank was full. The following Saturday when you departed it was totally empty & guests didn't have heat for pool or hot tub until Monday. There is a gauge to monitor the propane use and a solar cover to keep the heat in.

We stayed here with our children and grandchild for a week. The house was wonderfully furnished. It was stocked nicely with dishes and linens. The owner pays a lot of attention to details that make the stay really wonderful. They were very accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed for a toddler including a stroller and pack and play for her to sleep in as well as beach toys. The pool and hot tub was outstanding. Can not say enough about this house and location. We will return to property in the future.

You will love this house!

Three couples and one dog stayed here and the experience was fantastic. The house has EVERYTHING you can possibly need, was very clean and well stocked. Kitchen and bathrooms are modern/updated. Pool and hot tub are great, both were clean and functioned well. Nice big pool area with plenty of tables, chairs, loungers and floats/toys. Nice large living room area. Plenty of linens, bath towels, beach towels. Donna the owner is great to work with, and she starts you out with paper products, soap, detergent, etc. which does save money for the renters and is quite convenient. We were totally satisfied with this rental, just wish it had a view of the ocean but all of the oceanfront houses along this area pretty much block the view for other homes. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I really appreciate it. I am so happy that you had a great time and enjoyed your vacation home. I try hard to keep my homes very clean and well stocked with quality items. I enjoy what I do and work hard at it. You can see the pride of ownership! Also, it makes a big difference that I clean along with the cleaning people...each and every home. The views are quite nice with this home since you have the best of both worlds. From top deck you have views of the waterway and beautiful sunsets. The small fishing dock and boat ramp is only a 2 minute walk away to launch the kayaks or fish. Then, you also have a spot from the top deck to see the sunrise or you have a 2-3 minute walk to the beach access where you enjoy the ocean and the wide sandy beach. Oceanfront homes have great views of course, but most do not have heated pools and hot tubs. Since their is a coastal set back line, when an oceanfront home does have a pool, it is on the west side (street side) of the oceanfront home which is not very inviting. Glad you enjoyed the pool area at my home! It is a great area to relax or have fun and enjoy the beautiful weather in St. Augustine, Florida in the winter, spring, summer or fall. Hope to see you again!

We loved this beach house. It was very clean and well kept, the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of linens, utensils, and other things needed. The beach and river were both close and the home had plenty of equipment to use there and in the pool. Donna was quick to respond when we called her about using the hot tub. I loved the beach themed décor - even the dishes were bright colors. I would recommend others to rent this property - the house more than lived up to its description. In fact, it had almost everything any family could want such as high chairs and other baby equipment if needed. Lots of available sites to visit and wonderful restaurants nearby. We could have used another week to enjoy everything.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I really appreciate it. I try my best to keep my homes clean, comfortable, well stocked, and beautiful in every way I can. I'm glad you enjoyed you vacation. Happy guests are my main concern. It is a full time job for me and I really enjoy caring for my homes. I have my heart and soul into it. It is great to have your choice to either walk to the beach or fish off the dock at the waterway. Some guests are glad to see that I have kayaks and fishing poles stored in the garage for their use., along with the cornhole game, beach floats, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, toys, and the baby items that you mentioned, makes it very convenient to have if needed. St. Augustine and Crescent Beach have the best beaches, restaurants, and so many things to do. I have been up and down the coast of Florida all my life and I just love it here. One thing that I personally like is that the beach is dog friendly. I take my dog to the beach every time I am there. Also, dog friendly restaurants close by. I launch my boat right there a few homes away from this home since the boat ramp is great at this small neighborhood ramp. Thanks for being such great guests and keeping my home so nice. Hope to hear from you again.
