About the property

There is no better time to travel to Isla Mujeres, right in the heart of Mexico's Riviera Maya region. Beautiful, quiet and tranquil. We offer up the best Caribbean views on the island. Our luxury home is minutes by ferry from Cancun, with spacious kitchen and living space, private backyard pool, on one of the more beautiful, quiet islands in the Caribbean. LUXURY CHIC MEETS ISLAND LIVING!

The award-winning beaches of Playa Norte, the local customs and colour of its local people, the serenity that runs counter to the glitz and glamour of Cancun, the turquoise Caribbean crashing against its rugged cliffs on the south end, where tourists go to view the ancient Mayan ruins: the tiny Mexican island of Isla Mujeres has largely been a best-kept secret for travelers up to now. That’s fast changing.

Welcome to our Isla Mujeres Casa -- the place to chill in the Riviera Maya during the winter months.

Walk up onto the 450 square foot rooftop terrace of our new island home – on the highest elevation point on Isla Mujeres, just a short ferry ride from Cancun – and take in what is the most jaw-dropping views of the Caribbean on the east side, and the Bay of Cancun to the west.

Our three bedroom, 3.5 bathroom luxury home in Punta Sur – on the south part of the island – has everything you need. The home is brand new, and newly furnished:

• Luxury appliances (fridge, gas stove, coffee maker, washer and dryer, microwave)

• 55-inch 4K TV in the main living room (with Sky Satellite HDTV)

• TVs in all the bedrooms (with Netflix)

• Plush modern, new couch and chairs in the living room, with comfort in mind

• King beds in two of the bedrooms

• Queen bed in the third

• Air conditioning in every room, all with remotes to adjust personal preferences

• Newly tiled pool in your own private backyard, equipped with relaxing sun loungers

• Charcoal BBQ

• Rooftop furniture to take in incredible sunrises with a fresh cup of java, and the breathtaking sunsets, enjoying a romantic glass of Chardonnay. And after the sun goes down – never again will you see a night-time skyscape this immense, a full moon lighting up the cloud covering, or lighting striking in the distance – watching from your rooftop perch, you’ll be hoping for a fabulous storm show!

There is no place down here like this.

The home is beautifully landscaped – plush green space that melds naturally with this serene part of the island.

Access to our home is fast and easy. Cab ride from the Cancun airport to Puerto Juarez ferry, 20 minutes across to the island, just seven minutes in a cab from the island’s ferry stop downtown to our home, or 15 minutes if you rent a golf cart to explore the island with…That’s it. When you arrive, and are personally greeted, all your everyday worries and stresses will melt away. The home flows naturally from front to back. Incense burns on your entry, doing wonders for your well-being. Your vacation begins. Calm sets in…

Half of the backyard lounge area is in the sun, the other half in the shade, depending on your preference.

Come join us in paradise!

About Mark Keast

My wife Shari and I have lived on Isla Mujeres for over a year (we moved here from Toronto), so we are officially "islanders". We can recommend the best places for dinner, the best beaches, the best secret hangouts, the best shopping areas. We purchased this home just over a year ago, and have taken extreme care in furnishing and decorating it.

Mark Keast purchased this house in 2016

Why Mark Keast chose Isla Mujeres

We have been coming to the island for ten years. We looked at the north side, but decided to settle on the southern end, because of its quiet, green space, and the ocean views (both the Caribbean and the Bay of Cancun side).

What makes this house unique

The night time sky is awe-inspiring. There is nothing like sitting on the rooftop terrace late at night, when all is quiet, under a full moon, with the sea breezes, listening to the waves. It puts everything in perspective. The private pool area is another wonderful place to chill. Heading up the driveway (the home is on the island's highest elevation point), towards the home, is the final step in your journey, and when you get there, and the "wow" factor of those ocean views really hit you, you realize you are finally on vacation.

Very nice house, great quiet location

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful, my wife and I stayed with our 4 children. The location is on the south end of the island which is very quiet. You will need to rent a golf cart during your stay, unfortunately the rental companies really do not want to rent for an extended period of time since they make more money off the hourly rentals. It can be pricey if you need more than one, which we did. All and all, a great vacation, great house, great location. Definitely recommend, the owner was available via text at all times.

We highly recommend Mark's place

  • 5 of 5

My family (5 people -- two couples and a single) had a wonderful time at Mark’s house on the south end of Isla Mujeres. The house essentially has 3 master bedrooms, each with its own bath, plus a half bath downstairs. Although the house is attached to other houses, and there are several other houses nearby, it is very quiet. The house is comfortable and has everything you need. There is a large couch in the living room and the communal area – combined kitchen, dining table and living room – is great for hanging out as a group. Mark was very responsive when we had questions and his property manager – JJ, who met us at the ferry – was nice and helpful. He had some very good restaurant recommendations. JJ comes by once a day to water the garden and check if you need anything. We really recommend the house.

Here are a few small things that you should know to avoid surprises. The small development where the house is located is up an uneven gravel road from the beach (Calle Tiburon). This adds to the rustic appeal of the island. The internet can be slow at times, especially when you have 5 people getting on it each with two devices all at the same time. But keep in mind you’re on an island in Mexico. It worked. The golf carts you rent on the island are expensive ($60-65 per day) and don’t tend to work well (we had one quit on us but it was readily replaced). The carts are fun though, and you need transportation at Mark’s house. Pro tip: test out the parking brake before leaving the lot. We rented at ‘Joaquin’s’, but they are probably all the same. The house is almost as far as you can get on the island (about 4 miles) from the ferry stop/main town area. We liked that. It makes you get to know the island. There is a prickly path from the house down to the zip line park – Garrafon. There is also a taxi stand at the park. We found the park pretty expensive and with a lot of rules. Better to go to Capitan Dulce (1-miles from the house). 400 pesos per person for cabanas & kayaks and everyone gets a beer. The house is a less than 5-minute walk from the little nature hike at the south end of the island. There is a small little store there where you can get a coffee or a drink/ice cream. Two small, inexpensive restaurants that we really recommend were Bastos (unbelievably tasty local meat dishes) and Tonichos (some of the best tacos we ever had). Both about 1.5 miles from the house in the middle of the island. Thanks, JJ.

Truly a paradise

  • 5 of 5

We were very comfortable staying at Casa Elisabeth. The space was perfect for us. The main floor is open plan, so you can spend time together, and upstairs each bedroom offers an en suite bath, so when you want privacy, nothing will disturb you. The rooftop deck affords 360 degree views of the most picturesque part of the island, and the pool is so refreshing, especially after a day of sun and sand. The air conditioning units work quickly, so we could turn them off and enjoy having the windows open to catch the breeze and sounds of the water whenever it wasn't too hot. The owner was great about responding to our questions. You'll love it.

Beautiful views, Great location but...

  • 3 of 5

Spent 11 days in Isla Mujeres at Casa Elizabeth recently and completely enjoyed the island, sand, surf, diving and food.

Casa Elizabeth is a nice 3 bedroom condo that has potential, but could use some attention to make it a better experience. Owner had emailed two days prior to arrival to say that stove had quit and that they were looking to replace. Were there 11 days and no sign of a stove which was disappointing as we like to cook breakfast prior to heading out for the day. As well, arrived at home with JJ on first day to look through home and for 3 couples, found that there was minimal supplies to accommodate 3 couples. Only 3 wine glasses were there so we ended up buying 3 more to use. Would see opportunity to supply a bit more cooking pans, pots, etc., if renting to 3 couples. If stove would have been there, and the couples like to eat in once and a while for dinner, not well stocked. Did have a BBQ which we used one evening and is a nice break. Only 4 deck chairs which had 2 up on the terrace and two down by pool. Okay if only 1 or 2 couples renting, but not functional for in the evening sitting outside by the pool or up on the deck. Asked for a couple more chairs from JJ which he did bring, but 2 days before leaving. Overall, JJ was good as he was responsive to a few other smaller issues we had. 3 bedrooms were nice and it is great to have bathrooms in each, which is a big plus to the home. 3rd bedroom could use something to hang or store clothes, but not a big deal. So, all in all, still a great holiday and the house was nice, but could be a lot better with some more attention and amenities. Rob Schultz

My neighbors, my girlfriend, and I stayed 7 days at Casa Elizabeth in July. We definitely enjoyed our time there. The house was very clean upon arrival and very cold. The pool was something we all appreciated coming back to after a day at the beach. The house is located on the south side of the island, which means you get to relax with some peace and quiet in the evenings. The rooftop views are amazing, good place to go at night and watch the storms roll in. Thank you Mark for your communication. Your response time was great when I had any questions and JJ was there when we needed him. It was a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My best friend, our 2 daughters, and I stayed here for 8 days on the island!! It's very spacious and has that home feel to it! Beautiful views of the ocean from the upstairs bedrooms and rooftop! Ran into a problem and had no water in the house for one whole day, which was terrible, but Mark was right on it and had his handyman JJ come over and fix the problem! Mark checked in on us almost daily by text to make sure all was well. Julia, the property manager was very helpful and picked us up at the ferry and had a gulf cart ready for us!! However, don't ever rent a cart from Bahia golf cart rentals. We went through 6 in 7 days because they kept breaking down. We missed out on a few plans because of it. I would definitely stay there again!! Thanks again, Mark, Julia, and JJ for being so incredibly nice!
