Condo is located in the French Quarter, Across the street from the world famous House of Blues, House of Blues is a chain of 13 live music concert halls and restaurants in major markets throughout the United States. House of Blues first location was in Cambridge's Harvard Square. It was opened in 1992 by Isaac Tigrett, co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe, and Dan Aykroyd, star of The Blues Brothers. House of Blues is considered a major venue for touring bands.
The most well known of the French Quarter streets, Bourbon Street, or Rue Bourbon, is known for its drinking establishments. Most of the bars frequented by tourists are new but the Quarter also has a number of notable bars with interesting histories.
This place is beautiful. You get exactly what you see in the pictures, everything is brand new and gorgeous. However, there are no curtains on the front door/windows and you can see right in at night. People walk by on the street, you can't see them but they can see you. There are dark stickers on the glass but that only helps to shade during the day or if the lights are off inside. Once you turn the lights on and it's dark outside, you are on display.
Also, there are lots of big, beautiful closets but no hangers. This wasn’t a big deal for us but something they should consider adding.
Our biggest issue with the place was the treatment from the owners. We were supposed to rent a place much closer to Bourbon but when we inquired about an early check in, were told that would not be possible at that location. At first, Tyrone was very accommodating. Told us we could move to this location with no additional charge and check in early, also with no additional charge. This was even detailed in our contract. However, once we arrived, we learned that Tyrone was out of the country and his phone went straight to voicemail. It would have been nice to let us know he wouldn't be available during our stay and to provide us with a different phone number. The code we were given did not work so we were left out on the street until we could find a different number. Once we did, we were in contact with his wife, Jenny. Who was not friendly at all. Barked at us about an early check in fee even once we explained that this had already been arranged with her husband weeks ago. She refused to honor his no-charge promise, even though it was in the contract, as she told us "there is a festival going on this weekend." She then stopped by the house, called and texted us for two days to gather the $75 fee. Obviously, there was a difference of opinion between a husband and wife and should not have involved us. We spoke to Tyrone for months before our stay and then were surprised when he was suddenly unavailable once we got there. His wife was rude and insistent about receiving her money immediately, stopping by the house without even telling us. She did not want to hear about the arrangement her husband made and was nasty whenever we spoke to her. Though the place was beautiful, I would not recommend it since clearly this couple has no integrity and care about the people they are doing business with.There are plenty of other beautiful places to stay in this city.
This 5 star property is a PIG with lipstick. Do not believe Manager Tyrone about the noise level from the House OF Blues. Before I rented this unit I asked Tyrone a very specific, and direct question. Did the noise from the House of Blues effect the quality of sleep of anyone staying in the condo? He assured me that you couldn't hear anything from directly across the street. When I asked later about the lie that had been told to me. He told me that the sound was the enviance of the French Quarter. It was unusually loud this weekend he proclaimed. And he assured me that his comment was from the bedrooms you couldn't hear the noise. Which you could hear from there as well. He also went on to tell me that he had just gotten back from Israel, and he doesn't lie. Not sure what all of that meant. The noise in this unit is unnerving, and you will not sleep if the House Of Blues is jamming. Which is what it is known for, and stands to reason. I was lied to and deceived. FRAUDULENT! IN addition to the lies about the sound in the unit I was so disgusted by the quality of the unit. I was so excited about my rental choice in New Orleans until I arrived. The unit was beautiful from the pictures. Yet the condo was in need of many repairs. Tyrone made an effort to repair some of the issues in all fairness. Yet the repairs were to extensive to do during my stay period. The bathroom 2 shower curtain fell in on my daughter within the first hour of being in the unit. The Bedroom #1 closet door wouldn't open because it hit the floor in front of it. The shower in Bedroom #1 had the toilet paper hanger falling off the wall. The shower diverter was falling off the wall. The ceiling fans could only be put on LOW, or they sounded like an airplane was taking off in each bedroom. And if all that wasn't bad enough we didn't sleep for 4 nights. THIS MANAGER, AND THIS UNIT IS BORDERLINE FRAUDULENT. And for the ridiculous cost for rent a night you dont want to deal with the insanity I just endured. I will be pursuing every method in which to recover the damages from this trip that we incurred.
This was by far the best and most safe place i have ever stayed at. They were so nice and the place was amazing. I will only stay here from now on.
This beautiful and well appointed condo is perfectly situated for the French Quarter. Located directly across the street from the House of Blues and a couple blocks from the Cafe de Monde, we were able to walk EVERYWHERE!!! I would definitely stay here again!!!
5 of us visited for the Essence Music Festival, and stayed in this condo. It was easy to access, as the code for entry was provided to us, so we were able to check in easily.
The unit looked exactly as advertised, and we were right across the street from the House of Blues, which we visited for their gospel brunch!
Everything was in perfect working condition though we had an issue with the wifi for a couple of days that wasn't worked out.
The unit is in the heart of everything so if you need to make a quick stop at home, it's very easy to do. Took a swamp tour and one of the pick up locations was just a short 2 min walk away - convenient!
The owners provided a blow up mattress to accomodate us all.
I would definitely stay here again!

The French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carré, is the oldest neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. When New Orleans (La Nouvelle-Orléans in French) was founded in 1718 by Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, the city was originally centered on the French Quarter, or the Vieux Carré ('Old Square' in French) as it was known then. Port of Call on Esplanade Avenue has also been in business for more than 30 years and is recognized for its popular Monsoon drinks.
