Wonderful Thanksgiving with family
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at this home. We were 6 adults and 4 children and had more than enough room for everyone. Wonderful kitchen with ample dishes and seating for the 10 of us. Plenty of space to spend time together or separate when needing some quiet. The children loved the secret room and it came in handy when we got snowed in and the temperatures dropped. A word of advice for anyone staying here when there is a possibility of snow or ice, a vehicle with 4WD or AWD is recommended. Our Jeep did great on the snowy, dirt road hills but the minivans did not. We used the Jeep to go out and get chains for the minivans and then they were able to get up the slippery hills. Beautiful views of the lake and when sitting outside, the quiet was complete.
The house was clean and well stocked with all the necessities.
We had an amazing time. The whole family, including the two dogs loved it. We kayaked, swam in the lake, sat by the fire, played games, etc... It was a great family vacation, we definitely recommend this house, and hope to come back here soon.
Perfect Week With Family
Late August days, a perfect lakeside location, loads of amenities and roomy modern accommodations. What more can you ask for? Thanks to Matt and Carissa for a great week on Crescent Lake!
A beautiful and special place with lots of amenities
We were totally blown away by this property. It is a spacious, gorgeous home that is very well decorated and cared for and there are supplies and equipment of the highest quality for the renter's use. We had everything we needed in the house--laundry, a beautiful kitchen, sauna, wifi and phone service, etc. There were pleasant breezes from ceiling fans in every room and A/C if needed. Our toddler grandchildren were mesmerized playing in the room with the bunk beds, which had a closet bookshelf that magically pulled away to reveal a secret play room for children with an indoor slide, carpeted floors and plenty of room for a crib, which we rented from a local purveyor. Adults could play too. We read books on the comfortable furniture, swam in a most beautiful lake ( it was so clear you could easily see your toes and turtles and fish that happened by.) We jumped off the dock, took 40 minute swims, fished, tried paddle boarding for the first time, kayaked around the serpentine corners of the lake and into the abutting lake, floated in relaxation on the inner tubes that were provided, and cooked together in the large kitchen that was much better equipped with every imaginable utensil than one would have gathered from the property description. We found ourselves tuned into the resident loons and the various calls they would make, day and night. There were crisp soft sheets, many extra pillows, and a plethora of bathrooms, including a convenient one on the first floor. One had the impression that the owners did not spare any expense in creating this vacation home for their family and it was heartening to see the trust they put in us renters to take care of expensive boats, life jackets, the sauna, and a jetted bath tub in the master bath. On rainy days, one can read or pop into Portland and catch a children's or adult museum or a highly-rated restaurant and even Raymond had some funky gourmet food and coffee stores. We had so much fun this week and it will always be a poignant memory for our family. We had a meaningful time visiting with each other in different combinations; taking turns cooking and grilling meals; sharing stories, music and s'mores by the fire pit in the evenings; and swinging sweetly on the hammock when we wore ourselves out. I am happy for the family who owns this as they have the opportunity to enjoy this when they want; it is a real gift.
P.S. Bring beach towels

Crescent Lake is situated in the beautiful Sebago Lakes Region and this elegant, modern home is located on the desirable southern shore of the lake. This smaller, quieter lake is suitable for children of all ages. Enjoy all of your favorite freshwater activities, fishing, boating, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, etc. (rental comes with two kayaks and a canoe!). For the nature enthusiasts you may paddle or motor your way up the Tenney River where wildlife abounds. This river connects Crescent Lake to the larger Panther Pond. Close proximity to Freeport and Portland offers a multitude of shopping and dining experiences.
The fall is our favorite time of the year on the lake; apple picking, hayrides, and nature walks. Located just a few miles away is Rattlesnake Mountain which offers great family hiking activities. In the winter months we are within easy driving distance to some great skiing including Shawnee Peak, Lost Valley and Sunday River. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, skating, and snowshoeing are all available at your front door, and all the attractions of Portland are only 30 minutes away!
