15kms of Blue Flag beaches only 10 minutes away.

An apartment with 2 double rooms, living room, bath with shower, kitchen and a terrace turned East..

The landscape from the terrace, surprises us with the views of the river Douro and the elements classified by UNESCO as World Heritage , Church and Serra do Pilar, D. Luis bridge and Porto Cathedral.

From the terrace can also be seen on the left river bank, the historic area of Vila Nova de Gaia and the Port Wine cellars that are spread over the slope. The first cellar is 100 metres from the apartment.

The view over the right river bank allow the observation one of the most interesting Portuguese landscapes, the Historic centre of the city of Porto, only at 30 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by bus.

It will take less than 10 minutes to walk down the hill until you get to the river bank. Why not a Douro River cruise?

In the back of the building there is a large area with trees and a very small construction density. In a very quiet area, with bus stop just 100 metres

A well appointed flat with a great view

This is a great flat that is very comfortable and can sleep up to five with good accommodation - a large lounge and diner, small kitchen and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a balcony with the advertised view - and it is an amazing view! There is also parking available together with a local small grocers shop and a cafe/bakery.

Amazing view,great location.

Amazing view lovely clean,large apartment 2 mins to bus stop.Porto is so beautiful a magical city we will definetly return.

Mrs.Maria was friendly and helpful great bakery and supermarket downstairs what else could you want.

Super! Sehr zu empfehlen.

Schöne große Wohnung mit tollen Blick auf Porto. Die Wohngegend ist OK und der erste Portweinkeller 300m entfernt, übrigens sehr zu empfehlen. Wer nicht wieder den Berg hochlaufen möchte, das Taxi von den Portweinbodegas im Hafen kostet 3,80€!! Ein guter Ausgangspunkt und seinen Preis wert. Allerdings sollte man in Porto gut zu Fuß sein.

A Great Place To Stay

First, I apologize. I should have written this review some time last year. This place was great. The property was clean and well-maintained. We are a family of four and there was more than enough room for everyone. The view from the balcony was amazing. We were lucky to arrive on Sunday on time for the Festa Sao Joao. We had a great view of the fire works from the balcony, which was also a great place to have breakfast and relax on in the evenings after long days out. Porto wine never tasted so good sitting on the balcony during those evenings. Parking was never an issue as there is enough space on the street below. Right outside the door to the building these is a small grocery store and a pastry shop where we bought fresh bread and pastries daily. We really enjoyed our time there and miss it a lot.

P.S. Thank you Rui for letting us in when we arrived earlier than expected.

Great flat with wonderful views in Gaia

I stayed with my parents at this great flat in an excellent location in the Vila Nova de Gaia district of Porto. The flat is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. It is on the fifth floor of its building; a lift goes to floor 4 then there is one flight of stairs to the front door.

The owner gave us very clear information how to find the flat and asked us to contact him on arrival at the airport. The housekeeper was waiting for us when we arrived and made us very welcome, showing us where everything could be found.

There is a cafe / small shop on the ground floor of the apartment building and several other shops including mini supermarkets, butchers and bakers within 2 minutes walk.

For those who are able to walk up and down hills, the very attractive Gaia quayside

is about a 15 minute walk away. The centre of Porto can easily be reached on foot across the spectacular bridge.

Across the road from the flat is one of the major Port Lodges. This is newly renovated and well worth a visit. It offers a much more in-depth and informative tour than some of the more 'touristy' lodges on the Gaia quay.

We hired a car during our week's stay, which made it easy to get around the city and the local area. However, public transport is excellent. I would particularly recommend the 8 Euro ticket that allows you to travel all day on the city's old trams.

We enjoyed a day cruise on the River Douro, starting with breakfast on the boat, having lunch and arrivning at Pinhao about 5.00pm. The train journey back gives another view of the spectacular Douro valley with its terraced vineyards.

We had a fantastic time staying at this flat in Porto and would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering staying in this beautiful, historic city. I'm sure we will come back for a return visit.

AN APARTMENT WITH A VIEW

We were in Gaia and Porto during the Festa de Sao Joao (St John's Festival) during end of June. For one night the city erupts into a party. We went back to this apartment for the fireworks at midnight because we had a ringside view from the balcony looking down on the middle of the Douro where it all happened.

Except for the view its location was great and very near the bus to the waterfront in Gaia and also the centre of Porto. It is also easily accessable from the freeways. The waterfront is within walking distance. The apartment is also situated in the port wine district with Grahams just around the corner on the way down to the waterfront. There is enough free parking space around the block of apartments.

Tha apartment is spotless and well equipped. The landlord, mr R.Brandão, responds promptly on all inquires. The free WiFi is quick and extremely convenient.

The area is not overcrowded with tourists because in this apartment you live among the locals. We stayed 12 wonderful days getting accustomed to the way of life with various cafes and bars around. Confeitaria Candalita is at street level in the same building as the apartment. This is where we bought our buns and bread. We also enjoyed drinking coffee there although we could not understand Portuguese. The Supermercado is in the very next building and very conveniet. A big shopping mall is also very near to the apartment.

What you see on the webpage is what you get!! Thanks for a very memorable experience in Gaia and Porto.

Porto, the country´s second largest city, is in itself full of interest, but the surrounding cities offers the visitor plenty to see.

Along the coast, down to the cosmopolitan beach of Espinho (with a casino) you will find 15 kms of white sand beaches classified with Blue Flag. Splendid seafood can be found almost everywhere.

On the left side of Douro you can visit, in Vila Nova de Gaia, the lodges where Port wine is blended and aged and where you can taste the different varieties, or you may choose to take a river cruise along the Douro.

Traditional cities like Vila do Conde, Braga, Ponte de Lima or Guimarães are within 50 kms range and worth a visit.
