About Nic Stuart
Although we live in the South East of the UK we stay at our villa as much as the kid's school holidays will allow! We love Italy and we are sure you'll love it too!
Nic Stuart purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Nic Stuart chose Bonifati
We were after a property that not only had a great position near the sea but also in a more rural location where we could experience the REAL Italy - after much searching, we found the perfect place!
What makes this Villa unique
Near the pool and sea, great value for money and great local food all located in a stunning location with a large, fully equipped villa so you can choose to eat in or try one of the many local restaurants!
Pool / Spa
This is a quiet community so respect for others is a must. Children to always be accompanied by an adult when using the pool facilities.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Great stay in Calabria
Hello everybody! We stayed one week at Nic’s house and would like to recommend it to all looking for beautiful, quiet and quality place in Calabria. We enjoyed very well equipped house: kitchen (we love to cook!), terraces, sea view, garden, swimming pool 30 seconds away and the most important Nic himself taking care about everything by email and phone!! Go to the nearest La Torre restaurant, eat, talk with the people and you will come back to Calabria very soon! Thank you Nick and best regards from my family! Piotr Kamecki, Warsaw, Poland
amazing view lovely villa great swimming pool
This villa is fantastic all that we would have wanted, it has space, an incredible view, grass, a lovely large terrace and is close to the swimming pool. The beds were super comfy, it has a massive upstairs terrace too & everything seems to be done to a high spec. The photos don't live up to how nice it is, which is the way round you want it!! The swimming pool has shaded areas, the view of the sea & a shallow section which was perfect for our 5 year-old. Calabria is lovely & relatively undiscovered by non-italians. This means that finding plentiful gelato shops/restaurants etc isn't as on-your-doorstep as other parts of Italy but just requires getting to know where to go. There is a nice beach nearby but we opted for the sandy one an easy 15 minute drive up the coast. The view from the terrace is spectacular. I recommend & would hope to return.
can highly recommend the house
we stayed for two weeks at Nic's house. For me the essential thing was the excellent contact to Nic. At any time he was (via email) available and reacted very fast. We had an issue with the dishwasher, not funny with six people. But Nic reacted immediately, took care and kept us up to date. It was not important that the issue was solved straight away, but that we knew Nic was taking care and keeping us informed - all the time.
Furthermore we enjoyed the little things! For example: the guest book with all the suggestions for eating and trips, the books, games and DVD's. Also a clothesline we found - very helpful. All windows were equipped with fly screens and the bedrooms also with a ceiling fan. The house itself has enough space and equipment for six persons e.g. plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. And also the patio on the ground floor, the patio on first level and by the end the small balcony to the north - a lot of space to get some private space, if needed!
We can highly recommend the house, on the one hand because of the many small, pleasant details and on the other hand because of the owner.
Thank you Maik, really appreciate the kind words and that you enjoyed you stay at our villa. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Lovely Villa in a beautiful location
Wasn't sure what to expect from this part of Italy but it definitely did not disappoint. The villa from the photos looked amazing and when we arrived it lived up to that. The views from the garden and patio were stunning. We will definitely be coming again.
Calabrie ,may 2015
We had a wonderful stay in the villa in calabrie. The house is very pleasant and complete. The surrounding is wonderful with nice villages eand beautiful beaches. The wetter was wonderful. Yes we had a wonderful vacation
We recently stayed at this villa for a fortnight across Aug/Sept 2014 with my wife and our 3 kiddies (ages 6-10). We loved it and highly recommend.
It was great from the start - queries about the place were answered very quickly and the owners were very flexible on start day, which was just what we were after - it also built confidence right from the beginning.
Instructions on how to get to the villa were spot on (a car is essential), and it is fully equipped (e.g. dishwasher, washing machine and all the plates, pots, pans and everything else in a very decent kitchen). We always take a few kitchen items with us, but we really didn't need them here.
The villa is very spacious and three bedrooms are lovely, the mattresses very comfy and clean, modern decor and bedding. The view of the sea and coastline from the upstairs balcony was a dream and we felt very relaxed after just 24-48 hrs. The large lawned area really is super green as in the pictures as it's auto-watered every evening!
The little touches are lovely - we took a portable speaker, but there is a Hi-Fi that works just fine. There's a large flat-screen TV with limited satellite channels, but we never needed to use that as there was always something to do locally. There's a DVD player and plenty of DVDs. There'a a huge box of games (which we did use!), a box upstairs packed full of kiddies books and downstairs there's a few bookcases full of novels, guide books and useful info. There's even an extension lead for all your UK 3-pin electrical items that plugs into an Italian socket! There's no WiFi, I roamed on Vodafone and easily got 3G in the villa to set up a hotspot for the kiddies devices.
The pool area is big, just a minute or so from the villa, has an attendant until 1pm each day and shared with a few other villas. We used it extensively. Unfortunately there was an issue with the pool in our second week, but I'm informed that was dealt with very swiftly.
Calabria in August is hot! We had to use the fans in each bedroom every night, and be prepared for mosquitoes! We find that the smoking spirals work quite well and these can be bought locally.
There are plenty of beaches nearby, but they do vary in quality, so it's worth doing a bit of research. We loved Diamante Sud which is nearby and Tropea - a good 2 hour drive is fantastic for both the town on a cliff and its magnificent beach. We went twice during our stay.
Lidl nearby in Cetraro.
We loved this place & are very likely to return!
Calabria, located in the far south of Italy, is the Mediterranean's best kept secret. But if you promise not to tell, we might just let you in on why holidays in Calabria are such a treat…
Meandering through Calabria is as good as stepping back in time. Only recently discovered by tourists, this region has retained its authentic feel and natural beauty.
On the beaches find hideaway grottos and secluded coves - perfect for both families and couples alike.
Local places of interest include:
• Citadella Del Capo
...and slightly further afield:
• Sorrento & Italian Riviera
• Pompeii, Heculaneum & Vesuvius
Weekly local markets provide a wealth of fresh products which makes anything you cook taste so much better than it does back at home! Larger supermarkets are also located nearby.
Of course, the local restaurants provide a wide variety of excellent food at prices that are a fraction of other parts of Europe.
In order to make your stay easier, we have complied a book (located in the villa) that gives information on local restaurants and places of interest. Previous guests have also shared their top tips on where to go and eat.
Both my wife and I look forward to you staying at our villa in the very near future!
