Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Office, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This house is truly a remarkable work of art. It was built to resemble an old stone barn and does so beautifully.

On the bottom floor there are two bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. One bedroom has a king size bed while the other has a queen. Upstairs you will find a magnificent Great Room. At the one end there is a seating area in front of a gorgeous stone fireplace. At the other end you can sit and take in the Aran Islands, Galway Bay and breathtaking sunsets through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the center of the room, there is a kitchen area with an antique table that comfortably seats 12 people. Also, hidden behind the fireplace, there is a powder room. The entire house has under floor heating which is truly decadent in the cool Irish countryside.

For those of you who wish to leave the house you will find abundant entertainment. There is a gorgeous sand beach just down the road. For the golfers in your group there is a world-class golf course just a few towns over in Lahinch. Also in Lahinch you will find some of the country's best surfing. Fanore is not as renowned for its surfing but does have a surf school every summer. And for those of you music lovers, Doolin is just one town over and is renowned for its traditional Irish music.

In addition Doolin has many incredible restaurants and a fabulous craft store just down the road from the church (The Doolin Craft Shop). And if you need to get out of the countryside and into a city, Galway is just an hour away. It’s a wonderful city. Despite its small size you can find most anything you need there. If you’re looking for a great bottle of Irish Whiskey or an unusual bottle of wine, go to The Vineyard then stop by Sheridan’s Cheesemongers where you will find an amazing selection of cheese from around the world. But for those who wish to explore Fanore, you will find gorgeous scenic walks and some of the best angling in the country. And if you want to see things from s different angle, go horseback riding. You’ll love it.

The house is just up the road from O'Donohue's Pub, a small grocery shop and a fabulous restaurant (Vasco). All of them are within walking distance.

The perfect place to escape

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the Stone House. Incredibly comfortable beds, beautiful view and landscaping, welcoming community and centrally located to experience the Burren and see the Cliffs of Moher. Special touches in decor, a working fireplace, all make this the perfect place to escape.

Fantastic Accommodations & Location

  • 5 of 5

The Stone House is absolutely breathtaking. Coming from Florida, we are blessed to be able to see the sun rise over the Atlantic. Now we can say that we've seen the sun set there, too! The views of the Atlantic Ocean are stunning, and the home itself is lovely with accommodations being quite comfortable. It is an easy walk to Fanore center to visit the excellent little restaurant, Vascos, and the quaint bright blue pub, O'Donaghues. Pat, the proprietor, could not be any more friendly and generous. While in this area, be sure to hike the Burren, have tea in Ballyvaughn at the Tea and Garden Rooms, and go with Pat Sweeney on a hike from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher. There are many other wonderful things to do and see in this charming area of Ireland. Deirdre, our hostess at the Stone House, gave us so many excellent ideas for things to see and places to eat. My husband and I along with our two adult children plus one girl friend had a perfect vacation along the Wild Atlantic Way. Thank you so much!

Breathtaking

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely gorgeous home. Amazing view. Wonderful communication with Deirdre and Anna. The beds are shockingly comfortable and the bedding is superb. I can't really say any more than what has been said already in prior reviews. One thing I missed in the details is that there is no TV but we didn't need it. We sat in front of the upstairs windows and out on the deck every minute we were awake. The view of the ocean and the cows and horse were more than enough entertainment. Truly blessed to have been able to stay at the Stone House. We will be back!!

Amazing Home!!

  • 5 of 5

The view, the impeccable accommodations...I can’t say enough good things about this home. My family of six travelled for 13 days in London, Dublin, Adare, Kerry, and this was our final stop. Of all the hotels, apartments, and houses we stayed in this was our family favorite. (This is quite a compliment..we stayed in a 5 Star hotel in Dublin). The linens on the beds were dreamy and the home had everything you could want for comfort and a wonderful trip.

We loved the cafe blocks from the home. Best soup and baked items we found anywhere. Convenient for golf, beach combing, surfing, seeing the cliffs, and exploring this beautiful area of Ireland. Anna, who oversees the home could not have been more pleasant to us. I hope to get back to Ireland soon, and I would stay in this home the entire time!

Great house in an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

Even though it was March we got some sunshine and beautiful sunsets. Walked to Fanore beach and took the quick drive to Doolin cave.
