The major Voyageurs Crane Lake snowmobile trail goes past the cabin. With the north country's deep snow and countless miles of trails will always give you new routes to travel. Count on an abundance of snow up her
this is the second time we have been there.so peacefull to just get away. great time always and very comfortable cabin had a great time. thanks Gary. we will be back Dean.
My family stayed for a week in august of 2015. The cabin was very clean and well furnished. The setting was very nice. Fishing was good very close to the cabin.
We had a nice stay at this quaint little cabin on Crane Lake. The accommodations were as described...2 bedrooms, comfortable beds, linens and clean. The dock was near the cabin, so even though you had to haul your gear up some stairs...it wasn't a very long hike. The cabin itself was older, but has had the necessary updates to make it comfortable for a family to spend the week.
Two minor complaints - I wish the property had a fire pit. It sure would have been nice to spend the evenings outdoors around a campfire. I also think the price is a little high for the accommodations. $20 per night less would price it inline with other VRBO rentals I've personally rented.
Centrally located within minutes of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (the world's most pristine wilderness canoe & fishing country), the entry to the Voyageurs National Park ( the only water/boating accessible national park), and Quentico Park (Canada's remote wilderness canoe/boat park). Must see's are the Vermillion River waterfall gorge a short boat ride from your wilderness cabin, Painted pictographs on rock outcropping on Sand Point Lake (10 minute boat ride from your cabin) and the best fishing and snowmobiling on countless lakes and trails. The major snowmobile trail head of Voyageurs Crane Lake Trail is 2 miles away and the trail goes past your cabin.
Hike the surrounding ridges, climb to the top for some unbelievable scenic views of the wilderness area. In July go out your back door for some of the best blueberry picking around. Bald eagle's perch from the tall white pines as they fish for dinner. Deer and sage grouse are plentiful on your hikes by the cabin. Bird watching, beach combing, rock picking, swimming, mushrooming, are all fantastic on your wilderness retreat. Boat or snowmobile access only except in winter a ice road is plowed to cabin. Two miles by boat or snowmobile from the marina & parking where your journey of a lifetime begins.
