Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

It couldn't be anymore VERMONT!!!

A wonderful Log cabin that you can feel at home the moment you enter the driveway. It is away from it all and you have plenty of space inside and out to relax and reload your energy. Tucked away in the woods of Vermont, completely private and yet close to everything. Only minutes outside of Stowe. Indoors you can feel the warmth, charm, and uniqueness of Vermont. And a fire in the woodstove after a day outside will add to the experience of a life time.

The bedrooms are cozy and roomy and there is nothing better than to soak in a big old-fashioned clawfoot tub, but there is also a shower in the other bathroom for your convenience. One thing we know for sure, you will feel right at home!

The snowmobile trail starts right out the back door and for the cross country skiers we have the catamount trail right out the front door which runs down to Stowe and up towards Craftsbury for miles on end. But every season has its charm and we will have a list of beautiful sites ready for you which sometimes are only known to locals. Waterfalls and Swimming holes are all around.

Of course we also welcome your pets and the backyard is fully fenced in so they can enjoy fun without a leash.

We will receive you with a warm home and heart!

Great retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Claudias cabin. Close enough to Stowe for our tournament, but off the beaten path- we brought our dog and loved the fenced in back yard and our morning woods walks! Would highly recommend!

A lovely escape

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful, peaceful and rejuvenating stay at Claudia's cabin; the cabin was clean & tidy, very comfy and spacious, and the setting is private and quiet. The location is close to many amenities and tourist attractions, yet far enough away, that you can enjoy the beauty & healing of nature.

I can't recommend Claudia's Cabins strongly enough!

Wonderful, private, cozy, FANTASTIC host

  • 5 of 5

I love this place! It is private but only about 10 minutes from downtown Stowe so we were able to easily get to the restaurants and shops. Cabin is charming, very cozy, well stocked kitchen, well tended, comfortable bed. Quiet and lovely setting. Claudia was absolutely the best hostess,, she was very informative about the best local places to go including a stunning nearby waterfall and a great pizza place. She even brought us herbs and apples from her gardens and let us try the homemade chocolate she just made :) My favorite place I have stayed in Vermont thus far. THANK YOU!!!! (we will be back ;)

A Magical Place! We can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend, our 2 dogs and myself stayed at Claudia's cabin now for the third time and we love it more each time. The cabin is clean and so cozy and there are always staples in the fridge and on the shelves. The beds are comfortable and our dogs are more than welcome. The fenced in yard is perfect to let them play safely and we don't have to worry about them taking off.

Nothing beats a book in the hammock on the porch and morning coffee on the deck while Buster and Joey are getting rid of their energy.

It is very close to Stowe and Morrisville but we rarely leave the property once we are arrive.

We highly recommend this place and are sad to leave each time, but we know we will return again soon!

Very Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

Although previous reviews and pictures were very positive we arrived to find the yard and landscaping overgrown and unkept, the front porch dirty and the grill on the front porch very dirty with a used dirty spatula from a previous visitor still sitting next to the grill. Needless to say, this set the tone. Inside smelled OK at first because there was a candle burning when we arrived (and it looked like it had been burning for a long time, clever) however the next day/night the musty smell was really bad. I had a hard time sleeping in the bedroom on the first floor because of the smell. No toilet paper to be found in the place, we had to call the owner to get some brought to us. The refrigerator was stocked with opened bottles/jars of condiments, jelly, spaghetti sauce some of which expired a year ago. A note said that we were 'free to use anything in the fridge or throw it away if expired'. I'm sorry, I was not there to clean out her refrigerator, that should have been done before I arrived with my family. When I took the garbage bag out of the trash can to take it out, the inside bottom of the can was full of old moldy crusty food/garbage. On-line it said there was a TV. The TV was a 9" or so monitor screen stacked on top of some books on an end table. I don't even know if it worked. Granted, we were not there to watch TV but I felt this was misleading. There was a long bio on the table of how the owner built the place herself and it is meant to be cozy and rustic but there is a difference between rustic/cozy and unpleasant. Don't know why my family's experience was so much different than previous reviewers but I will be very skeptical renting a privately owned house again based on what I see online. We were very lucky that my daughter and her husband had much better luck with a place they rented down the road because we ended up spending most of our time there.

P.S. We have had great experiences at other properties we rented through VRBO but not this time.

Owner's Response: Dear Wesley, First of I'm very sorry your experience was so different from my many previous renters. I do remember your group because when I came to bring you toilet paper there were about 15 people in my little cabin. That there were things in the fridge that were expired for a year is simply not true. I do like to have condiments in there for people so they don't have to buy everything or bring it with them when they come here. Just like there are spices and regular staples like flour, sugar, oil and so on. You are right that the TV is small but it's a 22 inch TV. And yes most of my renters do not come to watch TV. Since the cabin is in the words I remember last month that a skunk was hanging around the property and that might have been the smell you picked up on. My cabins are clean and smell fresh and the only smell I would say there is, is the smell of wood. Again I'm sorry that was your experience. Claudia

Enjoyable winter stay

  • 5 of 5

We had another great stay in February in the Woodsmen Cabin. This trip we brought 4 dogs with us including a puppy that we had for only 8 days before our trip. The dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard. We are already looking forward to staying here on another trip next Winter.
