My family and I spent a week at the house in late May and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Cottage has many period and interesting features and a lovely garden to the side and rear. When we stayed the weather was very nice so we had chance to take advantage of the secluded back garden to relax in.
Poulton village center was a 10 min walk away and a very interesting and lively village with an old church in the center suare along with many small local shops and of course pubs.
I reccomend a 5 min walk to the River Wyre Hotel on a nice evening to sit on their outside deck and enjoy reasonably priced food inj a delightful atmosphere.
Overall we were very happy with our decision to swtay at Mulberry Cottage.
Only criticism was that the weather on the first day was lousy! Lovely property, great location for Poulton and the train into Blackpool.
We stayed in the cottage for a week as my daughter was doing work experience at Blackpool Zoo. The location was wonderful with less than a 15 min drive each day to the zoo. The cottage was very comfortable with a cosy downstairs and spacious upstairs with 4 good sized bedrooms. Our only complaint was the people staying below us had their tv on before 6am every morning and it was so loud we could make out the programmes! Poulton-le-fyde is a delightful little town with plenty of tea rooms and a Booths supermarket. A 2 min walk from the cottage is a sports centre plus 9 hole golf course, both of which our teenage son made full use of. If you want to visit Blackpool but don't want to stay in the centre then I would definitely recommend this cottage.
We had a wonderful week leading up to our daughter's wedding and the cottage was a good base for us.
There was a motley collection of crockery glassware and cutlery, some of which was badly scratched and chipped and nothing was a set of 8; but otherwise the kitchen was well equipped. Irons in the laundry room were un-useable - certainly on our wedding clothes.
The dining room has a lovely big table and was a good place to all sit round together.
The lounge is a cosy and pleasant room though the sofas are showing their age.
The two double bedrooms are delightful with clean comfy beds and bedding.
Bathroom and shower room also excellent, though I burnt myself on the heated towel rail - couldn't see a way to turn it down.
The cottage is only a short walk from Poulton town centre, park and railway station, which was ideal for us, and a short drive from the beach at Cleveleys.
We had a wonderful stay at Mulberry Cottage. The cottage has plenty of character & is warm and cozy. There was plenty of space for all 10 of us to move about freely & sit around the dining table together. It has all the amenities you'd expect & is only about a 10 min drive from Blackpool Tower. Check in & check out was stright forward & hassle free. Highly recommended.
Excellent location for a stroll into Poulton or a drive to Blackpool. Parking off the main road helped with a small newsagents/shop 2 minutes walk. WI-FI these days is a must so thank you for that. Kitchen, dining and sleeping all catered for.
Certainly recommend it as good value for money.
