About Andrea Hatfield

Hi, I was born and raised in Deer Lake, NL, of aboriginal descent as a member of the Mi'kmaq First Nation. A really good friend and wife, a sister, auntie and mother of 2. I left the Island, as many of us do, to find work but always longed to be there. So as soon as I could I made my way back to "the rock" and purchased this incredible property. I am so excited to meet you and share this amazing Island with you.

Let me know if you have any questions about the area or if you think I could gather some information for you. BTW I was an event planner in my "past life".

Andrea Hatfield purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Andrea Hatfield chose Division No. 9, Subd. A

Hatfield House is a semi-detached property that provided me the opportunity to live on-site and share the other side with guests while still giving you your privacy. We will share the front entryway , the mud room and the wood stove.

I am sure you will fall in love with the view !!!

What makes this cabin unique

I often find that I am tearing myself away from the view at this property. I love how it changes with the weather and the seasons. There is always something to look at. I love to sit on the wharf and watch the birds fly over the pond as the fish jump. I also enjoy the almost nightly visits from a pair of beavers that swim past our property. In the fall as the leaves change colour on the trees, the hills around us are ablaze with gold and red. Or in the winter as the snowmobiles play on the pond and the people ice fish right in front of our cabins. We are in the middle of a desired cabin country, that is rural in location but still close enough to all the modern amenities and at the edge of Gros Morne National Park.

Guestbook comments from the owner

They have thought of everything you could possibly need and we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The great thing was the location as well, 20 mins out of Deer Lake, and an easy drive to Rocky Harbour or Woody Point, sort of in between, which we really appreciated. Thanks again!!!

St. John's, Newfoundland

amazing cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I and two other couples spent 3 nights at the Hatfield house during our hiking weekend in Gros Morne. It was simply amazing!! Andrea was really friendly and welcoming, and her cabin is rustic, charming and very cozy -we loved the wood stove. We immediately felt at home! The view of the lake is simply beautiful, especially early in the morning. We are all looking forward to coming back there again. It was quiet, relaxing and a perfect distance from the hiking trails. Thanks again Andrea!!

Lovely secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

Property was beautiful and had everything that could possibly be needed for your stay. The owner was delightful and helpful especially if you are not from the area. This property is recommended for all visitors. If you are from the Island or able to bring a canoe, kayak, or boat it would be a good idea as the cabin has lake front access.

Would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone! My boyfriend and I couldn't have been happier with this cabin. It was bright, clean and the scenery was beautiful! Perfect location for travelling Gros Mourne. Loved the fire pit, the boat launch and the private beach. Plenty of room, rustic and charming cabin.
