This lake front property is located in Central Kentucky with in a 30-45 minutes of many attractions including: Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland, Antique shops, Historic Shaker Village, University of Kentucky, World Equestrian Games, Historic Revolutionary Fort Harrod, Civil War Battle of Perryville, Centre College, Asbury University, Golf Courses, Bluegrass Music, and much more.
Cabin was renovated in Fall 2011. Renovations include:
All new energy efficient windows installed;
New refrigerator, stove and over the range microwave;
New vinyl in kitchen and bath;
New carpet in family room;
New washer and dryer;
Concrete steps have been added for easier access to the floating dock. Water levels still determine distance to the dock. Owner is not responsible for water levels or condition of the lake and NO REFUNDS will be issued for these reasons.
Nice home. Gorgeous views. Wonderful people to deal with. Will definately return!
As a FFA advisor it is always a relief when I can find a decent place to keep all the students housed and entertained. They loved the dock, the fire pit in the back yard, and especially having a bed to themselves. Since renovation some of the window seals and ceilings in the bathroom have been effected by the moisture, but it was nothing harmful to my students. They enjoyed their time while in Kentucky, and we all laughed until we just about cried. Thanks for a nice place to stay.
Me and 7 of my girlfriends stayed at Paradise a weekend in October. This home gave us everything we need and more. It was a little too cold to swim but we did go down and set on the dock and being close to the water was absolutely beautiful. We never left the property the whole weekend. I have told all my friends about this place and it's very affordable I would recommend it to anyone wanting to just get away for a weekend or a week. Can't wait to come back. My new best getaway. Thank you Libby
We are a large family (two adults with seven children). This cabin was perfect for our family. We rented it for two weeks and will be renting it again. I emailed Pam and received quick responses each time, and she was quick to remediate any issue. Appreciate the customer care. This cabin is located in a beautiful spot between Danville, Nicholasville, and Harrodsburg. You can find something to dò in any of these beautiful Kentucky cities. The lake is wonderful, and my kids loved the opportunity to swim in it. Thank you for a great experience.
The house is acceptable and is in a great location on the river. The screened in porch was wonderful and we enjoyed spending the mornings listening to the cows and looking out over the lake. We spent almost all our time out on the porch and had a nice time. It was very quiet and peaceful with a nice view of the lake especially from the screened in porch.
Sadly, this place gets a generous three stars because the house was very dirty when we arrived, the grill is next to useless, and the dock/path to the dock is in rough shape (I assume that's why there are no pictures of it).
When we arrived the kitchen counters were sticky, we had to wash all the dishes before we used them, hair in the bath tub, spoiled milk in the fridge, etc. To add salt to the wound there was a envelop on the coffee table asking to tip the maid. Overall, we had read previous reviews and brought our own grill and cleaned the house up quickly.
Finally, I did not like that the rental pricing just says "email for holiday rates." This makes me feel like they change on a whim depending on how desperate the person is. I was desperate and ended up paying 625 for those of you who are wondering what the "holiday rate" is; however, I would not pay that price again. The normal price is fair but be ready to ask for your cleaning fee back.
Hope this helps,
Our family had a great time and much needed vacation. The property is very nice and great location on the river. It was very quiet and peaceful with a nice view of the lake especially from the screened in porch. Allowing us to bring our pet was an added bonus. The kids had fun playing pool while we were there and the hike to and from the dock. It was like getting a workout without going to the gym.
The only things that we had an issue with when we were taking a shower. The shower head seemed to be clogged or possibly could use a new one. The grill outside was nice except for when we opened it. It was very dirty and no grill cleaning brush to use. We opted not to use it which is a bummer because we love grilling out.
We will definitely be coming back to this place. Overall we would recommend this to any of our friends and family.
