About Owner

My mother was born on the Island and we have been visitors for many years. We are still finding things to do, there is so much in a compact place.

Having selected a short list of places to buy a property, we felt Shanklin has a lot to offer, with a good shopping centre, theatre, loads of restaurants and pubs not to mention a great beach.

Why Owner chose Isle of Wight

When we walked through the door the apartment just felt right. It was light and spacious inside with a great location, being close to a number of different walks. The beach is within 5 minutes walk as is the park and village centre. The town is about 10 minutes walk and the station a couple of minutes further.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment enjoys a peaceful location with a view from the balcony across Shanklin and Sandown bays, to Culver Down and on a clear day, to the mainland.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very clean, spacious and well equipped with everything in good working order. It was quietly located in a residential area, easy to find, and had convenient parking and a lift. It was a pleasure to meet David, the owner, at the apartment and be shown around with the added bonus of a welcome pack and useful local information. We researched alternatives and are confident we chose the best. Thank you for a very successful stay.

LOVELY APARTMENT

  • 5 of 5

We stopped at this apartment for a week only wish it could have been longer. On arrival we were met by David who showed us around and told us lots of information about the apartment and the area. The apartment is well appointed and has everything you would need for a long or short break, the whole place was very clean and the welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk and bread a very nice touch as was the wine in the fridge, plenty of extra towels and bed linen also. Shanklin is a beautiful village with lovely shops and great pubs as well as great places to eat. We were there to go walking and found loads of walks all over the island. I would recommend the weekly bus ticket for £55 that allows up to 5 adults to travel on all the buses as well as the open top breezer buses that run from most sea side towns, it also gives you a chance to forget about he car for the week. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to be in a peaceful location but near enough to shops and pubs and the view from the balcony is great. Thank you David for a great holiday in a lovely apartment hopefully we will be back again

Spacious, well arranged and equipped and spotlessly clean

Faultless apartment with part sea view. 10 minute walk from Shanklin Old village with small shops and eating places. Would stay there again without hesitation and would recommend to family or friends.

Fine base for touring island

  • 5 of 5

This was our second long winter stay here - 5 weeks in all this time. The flat is very well appointed, and warm and cosy on even the stormiest of days, and we had a good welcome from David as always including being met with all our luggage off the train. The island is easy to get around by bus and with a Key card it costs only £3 per person per day for unlimited travel over any 30 days - fantastic value! It was again lovely to get away from the Danish winter and see all the early spring flowers on the island, and enjoy our favourite cliff-top walks (Tennyson Down, and west of Ventnor) and down-land treks (St. Catherine's Down and the Long Stone at Mottistone Common, to name two). We hope to come again next year!
