About Mary Sue

My husband and I have been married for 22 years and have 3 children. 5 years ago, when we purchased this property, we had a little more time to relax. Now our children are 19, 16 and 14 and are just too busy to spend much time at the lake. While we still try to enjoy it as much as possible, we have decided to share it a bit as well. It is truly our home away from home.

Mary Sue purchased this house in 2010

Why Mary Sue chose Indiana

We looked for quite a while at different homes on the lake. When we found this one, to be honest, I walked in the door and my husband walked around the outside of the house to the point on the lake. We met at the other door and I said "No way" while my husband looked at our Realtor and said "Bridget, make it happen". You see, he has vision. The whole house was gutted and even walls came down. At the end, well, wait until you see it.

What makes this house unique

This house is right on the point of the lake. It is private, yet welcoming. It's paradise for us.

The house was perfect for all our family to get together. Great swimming lake! We had a blast. The convenience of the washer and dryer was much appreciated. Wonderful veiws from the balconies. Peaceful place to stay off the beaten path.

We just stayed at this home last week and it was truly amazing!! The house was spotless and beautifully updated and far exceeded our expectations! We stayed here with our family and my brothers family so 4 adults and 4 kids and slept very comfortably!! The view was gorgeous and the lake was warm and the kids (and the adults) had a blast swimming and floating on the lake! The diving board, rope swing and kayaks were huge hits! We ate lunch almost everyday on the deck and cooked on the gas grill, then went into town for dinner which was only about 20 minutes away. I can't say enough about this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering staying here!!

Very warm and inviting, a very relaxing week!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our vacation rental. The house was beautifully decorated and there was enough sleeping room for quite a few, although we only had a few. Loved the lake! Small, calm lake and the water was fairly clean (I am used to Lake Erie!). My son enjoyed the kayaking and it was very relaxing on the floating mats. Although it was warm and muggy, the porch with the overhang made it comfortable. We really enjoyed the 'visiting' groundhog.

Kitchen was nice and well stocked. The owner warned us about ants and there were many, but pretty usual for the amount of trees around the lake.

All in all, we enjoyed our week and was extremely relaxing!

Relax, Relax, Relax . . .

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a wonderful vacation with our grown "kids", theirs, and our new grandchild. What a great place to hang out and share new memories. The kids had new-found fun on the rope swing and the kayaks. Sitting on the porch in the morning with our cup of coffee, enjoying the lake view, was a treat!

Secluded, but not too far from Indy or Nashville.

Don't hesitate to book.

Beautiful Lake Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful and exciting time at your lake home. There was plenty of room for our family of five to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The lake was beautiful! Eddie's Pizza was very good and they deliver! 2 of the neighbors offered us pontoon rides. The tornado that hit halfway through our stay was a little scary! But...we can't wait to come back year after year and highly recommend this wonderful vacation getaway.

Owner's Response: So glad that you made the best of your stay. Remember, next time is free of charge - just for saying you survived the Nineveh tornado. I promise it's got to be better!!

Great weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We came out for a weekend to get away from the hustle and get together with our church small group. Seven of us spent the night and had a wonderful time of eating together, laughing together and enjoying a warm fire. The local area lost power for about 2.5 hours, but the hosts took our call when we called and walked us through where to find flashlights and lanterns. They had plenty!! We were able to continue with our meal in the dark and it made the time even more memorable. The neighbors even came over with more candles! A very intimate place that gave us the highlight of our year so far!! We'll be back!! The site lists 11-15, I would recommend no more than 11 unless you have kids that will sleep on the couch, etc.
