Magnificent setting! Right on Kachemak Bay, with stairs accessing the beach during Spring and Summer months.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is newly constructed and artfully decorated with Sea faring themes. On the main floor, overlooking the Bay is a fully appointed Kitchen, cozy living room, complete with large screen TV for enjoying the game, full bathroom and laundry. A spacious deck with lounge chairs and BBQ grill are accessed from the living room. The living room has a sleeper sofa. For a small additional fee, a lovely cabin in the yard provides a get away for 2 with a queen bed in the loft. Cabin guests share the downstairs bath in the main home. The Cabin is not available for independent rentals. On the 2nd floor you will find both bedrooms. The Master Bedroom has a queen bed, flat screen TV and a variety of books. The second bedroom has either 2 twins or converts to a King bed, depending upon the composition of your group. Both rooms have lovely views of the boats passing on the bay and eagles soaring by at window height.
The sound of the waves on the shore at high tide was
so peaceful added to the feeling of being on the water.
We could sip our coffee from the deck in the morning and
watch the sea otters gather together on the bay.
Kacemak Bay is a joy to see with the glaciers so close.
This house is new and well appointed and perfect for two couples
while in Homer.
A unique cabin with fine woodwork is on the same property and can
be another bedroom for younger people. The bed is in a loft, with a ladder.
We will tell our friends about this special place!

You will not find a better view ANYWHERE than on the porch of this beautifully constructed and well appointed home! This house is well equipped to handle two couples or a family, and is comfortable and cozy. The hosts made themselves available instantly for any questions, but were not obtrusive in any way. Seafarer house is a couple of miles away from The Spit, but a quick drive to shops and restaurants. Homer is an incredible town that is perfect for rest and relaxation or to explore the most wonderful things that nature has to offer. We will definitely be back, and would love to stay at The Seafarer House again!
This is a lovely house directly on the water that was built in 2016, everything is new and modern and clean. The downstairs is mostly one large room. There is the living room with a fireplace, the kitchen area and island, and a full bath with the washer and dryer. Sliding glass doors lead to the deck where you will be astounded by the view. The deck has lovely, comfortable seating and there is a grill there also. The kitchen is the most well appointed kitchen I have seen in all of Alaska. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a bath. The bedrooms are a good size and both had the beds set up as king beds. The only thing missing in the second bedroom was a dresser, or someplace where you can put clothes, there were no shelves or drawers and I found that somewhat inconvenient. The bedding and linens were very nice and I sincerely appreciate the fact that they did not use any fragrance when washing the linens. As a matter of fact, I don't think they used any cleaning items with fragrance, which I was delighted to see. The rooms are all cozy and warm and decorated with all kinds of things that make you feel at home. Outside on the porches were lots of potted flowers, they were beautiful. I wish VRBO would let us post photos to our reviews because the photos would show you how comfortable this home really is. The location is close to Homer Spit, a 5 minute drive. I also want to mention that Connie, the rental agent, is responsive, kind and patient. She was wonderful to work with.
Absolutely fantastic property. Great House, great location, full amenities, and an amazing view in Homer, AK. Cannot say enough about this property or its owners. My family had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing this gem on VRBO.
We had a wonderful time in Homer and absolutely loved staying in the Seafarers Beach House! The house has all the comforts of home and the views out each window are totally amazing! The location couldn't be any better, you are close to everything. We loved being able to access the beach with the stairs that are on the property. We will definitely book this place again and we found Connie the property manager to be wonderful to work with.
Great location with easy beach access. House was fully stocked with basic items and very clean. We truly enjoyed the weekend with family and friends. Nice to be able to let the kids play on the beach within eye sight and be able to sit on the deck enjoying the experience. We took multiple Long Beach walks and scavenged for beach items. We will be requesting to stay again.
We spent the second week of our two week stay in Homer at this beautiful beach house. The home is new and carefully designed to take advantage of the views of Kachemak Bay and the mountains and glaciers across the bay. We met the owner of this home and learned how this house came about and how much enjoyment she got in designing it. This made it that much more special to us. There were so many details incorporated into the design that gave this home personality, right down to the backlit stained-glass panes commemorating the Homer Seafarer’s Memorial in the corners of soffit above the kitchen cabinets. Every room was designed to take advantage of the gorgeous view. The décor was well thought out, with unique pieces of furniture and accessories that gave this home a great sense of style without being fussy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, making cooking easy and enjoyable, especially with the view from the large kitchen windows. The house is located right on the beach although a staircase is provided to access the beach from the yard. A deck runs the length of the back of the house overlooking the beach. During high tide, you feel like you’re on a cruise ship with only water in view. During a very high tide one morning, water covered the bottom stair of the steps to the beach. During low tide, you can walk quite a way out toward the surf and beachcomb. We watched seals and otters from the deck and fairly regularly enjoyed eagles flying overhead and landing in nearby trees. The house is very clean and well kept, both inside and out. We loved it and plan to come back on our next trip to Homer. As mentioned in another review of the home we stayed at prior to Seafarer’s, we were very impressed with Connie and Lauren with the property management company, Island Watch. We’ve worked with lots of management companies over quite a few years of vacation home rental, and were impressed with the personal service and helpfulness of these folks. As mentioned, we rented two homes from them for our two week vacation in Homer. The Island Watch folks were very helpful in the transition between the two properties and made the overall rental process easy. We highly recommend Island Watch and Seafarer’s Beach House!
Our Spring season opens with the return of the Shore Bird Festival in early May. Spring and Summer also herald some of the finest Halibut and Salmon Fishing in the world. Bear viewing charters maybe booked for the experience of a life time. The hiking trails are filled with wild flowers, wild life and spectacular views. In the Winter these become wonderful cross country skiing trails. A winter experience in Alaska is best finished with a display of Northern Lights!
