Lovely bright air conditioned, well maintained corner apartment within the popular Minerva Complex. The wrap around balcony enjoys the sun for most of the day. TV is fitted within the apartment offering uk channels. WIFI is now available within the apartment. The central location means your never far from the resort amenities, car hire is not required unless you want to explore the beautiful coats line. Arroyo de la Meil, the local railway station, Tivoli World Fun Park, La Paloma Park and a beautiful sandy beach are all well within walking distance. The stunning Benalmadena Marina is just a short taxi ride or leisurely walk away. The nearest golf course is just 2km away. On site is 24 hour English speaking reception, hairdressers and beauty salon. Many people stay at Minerva for the great swimming pool, and spacious gardens, the swimming pool has lifeguards on duty during high season, and security as you enter the gardens ensuring only Minerva guests use the facilites. There is a pool side cafe bar

Across the road from the complex is the popular Bonanza Square, with its many and varied restaurants, bars, cafes and entertainment.

Minerva complex is just a 15 min taxi ride from Malaga airport.

Benalmadena Costa: Benalmadena is split into two sections with Benalmadena Costa the part of most interest to the many tourists who visit this popular Costa del Sol resort every year. The resort lies 15km south west of Malaga airport between the resorts of Fuengirola and Torremolinos.

Benalmadena Costa is a coastal resort extending 8km along the coast which climbs up into mountains behind. The cable car from the coast up to the top of the mountain is a worthwhile trip but not recommended for those with a fear of heights!

Benalmadena has more than 8km of blue flag beaches some of which are in small coves. A lot of work is carried out to maintain the cleanliness of the Costa Del Sols beaches. There are sun loungers and shades available for rent on the beaches as well as water sports available. Small bars and cafes line the flat promenade, which streches to Benalmadea Marina. Above Benalmadena Costa on the side of the mountain is Benalmadena Pueblo which is an attractive traditional Spanish Village.

Entertainment in Benalmadena Costa: There's plenty of entertainment to amuse children, parents and grandparents alike. If you want to venture away from the swimming pool at Minerva and the beautiful local beaches Tivoli World amusement park is in nearby Arroyo de la Miel and has Wild West and flamenco shows and a cable-car ride. Equally popular are the Selwo Marina Dolphinarium and the Sealife Centre which has the biggest shark collection in Europe. There are water-sports facilities at the yacht club and plenty of golf courses in the vicinity. The stunning Benalmadena Marina is well worth the walk or short taxi ride from Minerva, during the day its a haven for everyone. During the night the Marina attracts the younger crowd who visit the many night clubs, many of which stay open all night! Locally the area surrounding the Minerva Complex is more geared towards familes, although it offers many and varied bars, cafes, restaurants & entertainment it has a policy of no music to be played outside after midnight.

Places to visit near Benalmadena Costa: The most popular excursions from Benalmadena include Marbella, Fuengirola, especially on market day, and Mijas. From Benalmadena Marina you can walk all the way along a flat promenade to Torremolinos with plenty of bars and restaurants on the way for refreshment .

Slightly further afield are the Caves of Nerja and Malaga city tour. Full day tours are available to Granada to visit the Alhambra Palace, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Gibraltar and even Tangier in Morocco. If you don't fancy a scheduled coach tour or driving, you can always find a taxi for local outings and there are regular coastal bus services up and down the coast. The local train station is just a ten min walk from Minerva in Arroyo De La Meil, from which you can travel the length of the coast from Malaga right down to Gibralta, the trains are excellent value for money. The tains leave for Malaga city every 30 mins, its well worth the effort to see the Moorish ruins of the Gibralfaro and the new Picasso museum.

We are a happy family who live in South Wales, on the Gower Coast, we love living near the sea, both at home and in Spain. I have worked for a high street bank for twenty years, and my husband Geoff is self employed Gas engineer. Our son has now finished university and is living in London, although he comes home frequently, he misses the surf and the sea.

Why Sally chose Benalmádena

As a family we love Andalusia and have been visiting it for many years, since our children were very young. We had always talked about purchasing a Spanish property, and were always looking for the one. An apartment in Minerva was ideally located for us as its just a short walk to a beautiful beach, with plenty of cafe bars and restaurants, we love La Paloma Park which again is only a short walk away. We love swimming so we were always looking for an apartment block which had a great swimming pool for children, but also with a great section for adults, Minerva has, its the best swimming pool in the area, and it also has lifeguards on duty during high season and security at the entrance to the gardens to ensure only residents use the facilities, the gardens are spacious and theres a pool side cafe bar, so it ticked all the boxes. We also like to visit other villages and beaches along the coast and Minerva is also ideally located for using as a base to explore other parts of the Costa Del Sol. Within a short walk there are bus stops which can take you the length of the coast, and Arroyo del miel train station is a walk away and can take you from Fuengirola to Malaga, and everywhere in-between for just a few euros which is great.

Our first holiday together was spent in Benalmadena many many years ago, and although we have visited many other places it still holds a special place in our hearts, and we`re always happy to return to our apartment in Minerva, we do love it, and we want everyone who visits to enjoy their time there as much as we do, and make their own happy holiday memories.

What makes this apartment unique

When we travel to Malaga we want to get to our apartment asap, and not have to endure a long drive to our accommodation. Many places along the coast are a long drive from the airport, but Minerva is only a 15/20 minuet taxi drive, so theres no huge cost involved and no long drive once you`ve arrived at the airport.

With a 24 hour reception at Minerva we know that whatever time we arrive there we can collect the apartment keys without any problems.

The gardens surrounding Minerva are so spacious even in the height of the season we know that there is always plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable.

All the apartments within Minerva are privately owned, some being owned by residents who live there all year, many Spanish people are year long residents, but many others are rentals, some owners have many and have made a business out of rentals, but some owners like us only have the one, and therefore treat them like their own homes, we maintain our apartment as we do our home, and strive to ensure its kept to a high standard, for us to enjoy as well as guests. We`ve made lots of friends who have stayed in our apartment over the years, many of whom return year after year, even some guests who holiday elsewhere still keep in touch with us, its been a great experience, and we are very grateful that we acted on our dream and bought our apartment in the sun.

Notes:
Minerva has extensive gardens set around a large stunning swimming pool, theres plenty of space for eveyone even in high season, there are sun beds available for hire and a licensed cafe bar adjacent to the pool both available during mid/ high season. On the balcony of the apartment there is a patio table with seating for four. Although the apartment appears to be on the third floor from the outside of the building, it is actually on ground level within the building, making it safe and secure an ideal choice for families and the elderly alike, there is no need to use the lifts. There is a flat screen TV in the lounge offering over 50 UK channels. For extra comfort air conditioning is fitted within the apartment, it runs off a meter, 1 euro lasting 2 hours. Computers and internet access are offered within the reception area of Minerva, There is car parking space available outside the Minerva and Jupiter complex free of charge This is a light well maintained welcoming apartment

Great apartment and location

We found this little gem of an apartment 3 years ago and have visited a number of times. Fully equipped to a high standard and located near to restaurants , bars and supermarkets, you have everything you need for a perfect holiday.

The apartment has a great balcony with sun all day and the complex has nice grounds and a lovely pool..

Sally and Geoff, the owners, are wonderful to deal with and have an excellent backup service in Spain should there be any problems.

Lovely clean Apartment

This apartment is an excellent location. Is spotlessly clean and fresh. It's equipped with everything you could need. There's Wi-Fi internet in apartment which was a great bonus, especially with 9 and 11 year olds. Location is central to all attractions and opposite Bonanza square. Which has plenty of places to eat or just have a drink. This is our 1st stay at Sally and Geoffs. We would definitely like to come back again. Would recommend this apartment to family and friends

Lovely apartment with great views

I have stayed at this apartment many many times over the years and Ive always found it to be very clean and comfortable with everything that you need for a self catering holiday provided.

The view is lovely overlooking the garden and you can even see the sea in the distance. A bonus is the location, it is centrally placed for the attractions of Benalmadena. Tivoli World, The beautiful Puerto Marina, and Sea World are all just a short walk away and there are plenty of shops to browse around which ever direction you want to walk, and of course the beach is only 10mins away, or you can get the bus or a train to Malaga or Torremolinos. There are plenty of restaurants catering for every taste or if you prefer to cater for yourself the local supermarkets are all well stocked. I've always found Sally and Geoff to be very accommodating and can't wait for my next visit.

Nice location

Stopped in this area many times. The accomadation is a major factor on any holiday and tbh this wasnt great. Needs a lot of updating and it wasnt the cleanest apt we have stayed in. The throw on the sofa appeared dirty, one of the kithchen chairs had food stains on it, the bath appeared to have been painted and the dirty grout between the tiles around the bath could be seen under the new grout. The water would not drain away whilst having a shower, which only lasted a few minutes as the hot water was draining out of the leaking mixer tap instead of the shower head. The overall cleanliness was poor, cobwebs, dust etc and l would suggest the owner, employ a different cleaner as the current one is letting the her down. Simple things as bulbs not working in the passage is not hard to rectify. We were going to use the washer, but decided against it as this too looked grimey. My review may seem a little harsh, but l speak as l find, and had the apartment been clean, tidy and kept to a decent standard then l would have said so, but unfortunatley, it wasnt.

From The Minerva Complex you can easily visit many of the well known and loved areas of the Costa Del Sol. Just a short drive, bus or train ride can take you to Torremolinos with its popular water park, or Carihuela, where you can visit the many sea food restaurants, Fuengirola with its busy market, also the beautiful picture postcard spanish village of Mijas with its white washed houses and quaint shops. Further down the coast, find the glitz of Marbella, or Porto Banus where the rich and famous moor their luxury yachts in the harbour. If you fancy exploring further visit Gibraltar where you`ll see the monkeys, and also shop duty free, or take the ferry over to Morocco. Apart from the well known areas of the costa del sol there are the little discovered Spanish towns, you can hire a car and discover the hidden gems. Or make the most of Benalmadena Costa, stay within walking distance of Minerva and discover the many attractions, the beautiful beach, La Paloma Park & much much more.

Golf: The Costa Del Sol is known for its many golf courses, the nearest being just 2km away from Minerva.
